Iwaizumi's going to kill someone.

"Yeah, of course there's different kinds of hugs," you say, answering Matsukawa's question.

Maybe multiple someones.

"How can there be different types of hugs," Hanamaki says derisively. "You're just wrapping your arm around someone."

They--Makki and Mattsun--called you over after Oikawa made a snarky comment that Hanamaki's date probably ended poorly because he was a bad hugger.

"You're not just wrapping your arms around someone," you say with mock patience, narrowing your eyes with pity.

And Iwaizumi made the mistake of snickering, both inflating Oikawa's ego and stoking Hanamaki's fiery pettiness which triggered Matsukawa's loyalty. So when you, Iwaizumi's long-time-but-he's-too-chicken-to-do-anything-about-it-and-oh-my-god-how-can-you-not-see-how-he-has-feelings-for-you-crush, just happened to be passing by in the hall the devilish duo didn't hesitate to call you over.

"You're..." you search for words.

"You're what?" Hanamaki prompts tauntingly. He gestures to Matsukawa. "Why don't you just show me what you mean?"

You scrutinize Matsukawa for a moment before saying "no, sorry. You're too tall." You glance at Oikawa, holding up a hand. "I'm not even going to touch you," --Iwaizumi nearly snorts on a laugh-- "and you need to see it, right?" you say to Hanamaki and Iwaizumi suddenly stiffens in disbelief as you reach for him--

You reach for him.

"Sorry, Iwaizumi-san, can I hug you?" You give him a moment in which he nods curtly, too stunned to say anything and then you're leaning in and wrapping your arms around him, over his shoulder.

Brain full of fog he stands there speechlessly as you hold him tightly for a moment then let go.

"Yeah. That's a fucking hug," Makki says, irritated.

You shake your head. "No, no. That's the first kind of hug." You reach for Iwaizumi again, not waiting for permission this time as you slide your arms under his this time and wrap yourself against him.

Iwaizumi's ears ring and he reflexively hugs you back this time, arms folding across your lower back and you rest your head against his chest for another moment.

"See? Second kind."

Too soon you pull back and slide through his arms but he doesn't have time to mourn the contact before you're back in his arms. Over and over and over again. It's getting harder and harder for Iwaizumi to hold himself back from enjoying each moment of contact and judging by the expressions on the three degenerate's faces they can all tell, too.

"Okay, but when am I supposed to use each hug?" Hanamaki asks earnestly despite his enjoyment of Iwaizumi's torture.

"Oh, I have no clue," you say nonchalantly with a shrug. "To be honest I have really bad awareness of other people's comfort levels when it comes to personal space."

"So how the fuck am I supposed to know what to do?" Makki asks incredulously.

"Ask?" you reply, gesturing to Iwaizumi not noticing he's stiff in more ways than one, "obviously."

Hanamaki rolls his eyes, forgetting the petty torture for a moment. "Well you were no help."

"Sorry," you offer with a grimace. "The only hug I know for sure is just for romantic situations is the back hug."

"The back hug?" Mattsun asks skeptically and Iwaizumi gives him a look that could kill.

You nod, unaware. "Yeah, this." Without warning you step behind the ace and wrap your arms around him, resting your head on his shoulder.

All three men release an "ooohhhhh" that you interpret as understanding but really it's their reaction to Iwaizumi's expression.

Because Iwaizumi's definitely going to kill someone--

"And it doesn't matter who hugs who," you say amiably, still wrapped around Iwaizumi, "top, bottom, whoever can hug who." You give him a little squeeze and nuzzle without realizing it; Iwaizumi's eyes bulge. "That's what's so nice about this one."
