OhmygoshguysI’msoexcited Soooooo I volunteered to create a trailer for our film, Love Slain. I spliced together a small sequence of composited shots, cut up music from the Free Music Archive (linked below), and here it is. This think is looking so beautiful, I can’t wait for you to see the final product. Here’s how to find our film once it’s finished: https://loveslainfilm.wixsite.com/loveslain

Alright, y’all, this is my final shot to be posted! How exciting! I can taste it, the final product is approaching fast. I worked off of a baseline of my teammate’s original animation, and improved on movement of both character and camera. My team really loved the end itself, where she becomes sad. One mentioned it had “swan princess vibes”.

I finally finished this daggone shot a couple of weeks ago. Success! It’s been sent out for rendering and will come back in pretty, publishable colors. Her run at the beginning is still not my favorite, but I had to breathe and let it go, so that the rest of it could get polished. I am in love with this dragon jump! My teammate actually recommended that acting movement, and it turned out incredible.

Bloop! It isn’t really easy to see with lack of color, but this one was fun to do. The dragon turns back into the Jester, so we needed an interesting solution to make that happen. In storyboarding... Me: “Ragdoll him!”  *rapidly sketches this out with stick figures* Group: “That’s it, that’s what we need to do, it’s perfect”

So, this is Scene 09 Shot 08, it’s really short. Basically, we needed a solution to turn the dragon around so that he was facing the direction we wanted him to. We didn’t have a turnaround made for him, which caused a big issue in trying to do that. Solution? Cut to a close-up and only turn the head. It actually worked! I can’t wait until I’m able to post the cut before (not a shot that I am animating) so y’all can see how well this flows.

Continuing on the journey towards film completion! This is Scene 09 Shots 01 & 02 for Love Slain. I still have some fixes I’m looking to make, for example adding weight to the dragon in certain places, but this is “final pass” for the end of the quarter
