Lucian blinked for a bit. "Well, I have gotten used to you hanging around here. Though, I have always wanted to visit California... Valarie, aren't you from there?"

Valarie nodded. "My mom still lives there. I came to New York to study, is all..." She frowned, and crossed her arms. "I do miss her, really..."

"Well, it’s only for a little while. They wanted me back in Cali to finalise a few details on a case of mine. After that, I’m getting sent back up here… It should only take a week or two at most." She shrugged and smiled. "Hopefully you won’t miss me too badly~" She laughed at that, tucking a few stray hairs behind her ear. "Who knows? Might even bring you guys for a weekend. It’d be a nice change of pace, right?"

"What, really?" Valarie tilted her head to one side. "Well, it was great having you around... Why are you heading back, though?"

"Must be work," Lucian mumbled. "Your vacation is over, then?" I'd like to ask her about any gang activity, but that might raise suspicion...

"Must be." She smiled a little again, tugging her scarf. "I might have to head back to Cali soon, which puts a bit of a dampener on my mood..."

It is 100% okay with me if your character uses force against mine.

Meaning that if my character angers your muse, it’s okay that yours reacts violently, especially if that is the nature of your character.

But you do not get to kill them without my permission.

"I guess," Valarie mumbled. "I'm actually a bit cheerful for some reason," Lucian replied. "Must be a good day for me."

"As am I… Never took you to be a night person, Val." She kept the grin on her face, her eyes shining with a hint of mischief.

“N-no, it’s not like that!” Valarie yelped. “Don’t go twisting my words like that…” Lucian sighed. “We’re only teasing, mon papillon.”

Dinner Rush [OPEN STARTER]

Another day at Maison, another dinner rush, as the staff would say... or groan, in fact. One day, a large group of people stopped by for meal, apparently to celebrate some sort of event. Once their food was all prepared, Valarie balanced all the trays, bringing it over to them. Soon after, the group called her back, complaining that everything was terrible... even though they only took a bite of their dishes. Of course, the customer is always right. Arguing would lead to trouble, anywaus... So, Valarie picked up their dishes, weakly starting to trudge back to the kitchen.

Case MDC [OPEN STARTER]

It was yet another long night at the NYPD. Blake Anderson, an FBI agent helping research on the activity of a French gang, Les Chasseurs, was seated behind a desk, reading through piles upon piles of paper. He suspected that several members might be residing in New York, and so he focused his research there. He was so carried away by the papers, that he completely forgot about the time. It took him a while before his eyelids started to feel heavy, and eventually, he fell asleep at his desk... ... Until someone barged in. He jumped in surprise, toppling over a small pile of papers. He looked up at his visitor, rubbing his eyes. "Morn'..." He glanced over at a clock, and saw that it was already past 1 AM. "Do ye need help with something?"

Flashbacks [OPEN STARTER]

Lucian winced when the fireworks started to go off right outside Maison. Loud noises like that... It always bothered him. They would remind him of the constant violence that once surrounded him...

He groaned, slowly raising a hand to his forehead. A stinging pressure all around his head... and the dizzying of his vision... he knew exactly what this was. It all flashed back before his eyes, those terrifying incidents which took place in Paris-- the shouting, the gunshots... his father's blood on his hands... It was too much for him to bear...

"Hey, what's with that grin!" Valarie cried, peering through from behind her hands. Lucian laughed and pat her on the head. "You obviously enjoy those walks. I'm amazed you could stay up so late, actually."
