she’s holding flyers in her hand, passing one out to everyone she encounters (sort of forcibly).   “hi!”  a vivacious greeting as she holds one of the flyers out.  “holy family catholic church is having a movie night this weekend!  i’m hosting it.   we’ll be showing all of america’s classics: God’s Not Dead, God’s Not Dead 2, and The Passion of Christ.”   she emits a sound similar to a squeal from her mouth.   “doesn’t’ that sound super fun? it was my idea. what better way to have free food, free non-alcoholic drinks and bond over our lord and savior?”

an approach by a young brunette is unexpected, and the flyer in her hand is toyed with, eyes scanning each word while all speech goes in one ear and out the other. “oh.. uhm..” stammering, the blonde is at a loss for words. “sure.” the idea of her saying no wasn’t one she enjoyed, but then hearing people discuss a fictional sky-man didn’t sit entirely correct with her either. “i.. hmm.. it’s not very safe for you to advertise like this.” it’s not meant in a negative way, per say, but rowan certainly didn’t mean any harm with her words either.

with the male being in control of his breathing now, the other’s reassuring words allowed the brunette to concur with what she was saying. “i guess so,” he responded sheepishly, tracking his eyes away from her gaze in a fashion which resembled that of someone who had just murdered another and faced the stand. his vision was so blurred that he couldn’t quite see the extent to which he had ruined her dress but due to his state, he always feared the worst. a repetition of the others words followed by further inference came, “it’s fine. that doesn’t sound FINE to me. rowan, please be honest with me,” came the plea as he looked directly into her baby blue centres both lovingly and with desperation. scratching his head thoughtfully, the word bar triggered his memory ever so slightly. “oh, yeah, they might be. i mean— i’ve only been there and here all night. but before we go, i need to tell you something,” he said in repetition of his previous speech, as his intoxication strengthened so much that he couldn’t remember whether he’d told her that he needed to speak to her or not. as she told him she would listen, though, his cheeks transformed into a rosy red hue causing him to put on an awkward front. the uncertainty in her tone made this stiff body language heighten but, in a spur of the moment action, he blurted it out. “look, so… i’m not a virgin anymore. i—er, i…” he paused, twiddling his thumbs before continuing, “—i lost my virginity. but… in a… um, threesome. keenan and nova.” of course that was a slight white lie as it was just keenan. but he knew that if she found out he’d fucked keenan solo, she would be livid at him. of course they weren’t a couple but their bond was stronger than ever and it was almost as if they were. “i—um, i— hope you’re not too mad. i know you and keenan aren’t the—um, best of friends. right? and i know you wouldn’t want me doing irresponsible stuff with people you don’t like so… yeah.”

drunk people didn’t often bother rowan ---- nothing really bothered rowan ---- but xavier’s persistence that she wasn’t okay, that she wasn’t fine, was grating slightly. why could nobody ever take her at her word? okay, she kept a lot of things in, the blonde would admit that, but was that reason enough for her feelings ( whether she was lying or not ) to be undermined because somebody didn’t believe her? sometimes, like right now, she prayed to be more outspoken and more confident and less of a pushover. but change didn’t occur overnight, and it was just easier to be kinder. “i’m fine xavier.” his memory appears to come back and it’s now that puzzle pieces are slotting together for opportunity. opportunity that ensures her secrets stay exactly that, because everyone would simply worry and mother her and that isn’t what she wants. she doesn’t want to be that girl. “okay?” hesitation is evident in her voice, because she’s half-expecting whatever his confession is to be totally out-of-this-world and she’s unsure if she could handle that right now. “i.. uhm..” he’s telling her something she already knows, and something that she ultimately doesn’t care about. not in a malicious way, but whomever xavier chose to spend his nights with was totally his decision. “did you use protection?” it was a question she hadn’t asked nova when the earlier texts had come through, a question that she wasn’t sure was appropriate for nova since rowan did hardly know the girl after all. “why would i be mad xavier?” confusion fills her features; rowan didn’t do mad. that wasn’t her style. did he not know her at all? “where did you get the idea that i don’t like keenan either? i.. i have no problem with anybody.” it stings, a little, that he thinks she doesn’t like keenan. but then perhaps she didn’t. the two didn’t really know each other, and keenan surely gave off an atmosphere of being an unfriendly character, so it was unlikely the two would ever become best of friends, but that didn’t mean that rowan was particularly bothered by her. “if you want to have sex with keenan, or nova, or keenan and nova, then that’s your decision. just be safe.” it’s the simplest thing to tell him, and it’s the easiest. because should rowan say ‘no you can’t sleep with people’ then everything becomes a lot messier and everything becomes a lot heavier and she isn’t ready for that. “was that all? i think we should head back to the bar. get your crutches. and maybe some drinks?” he’s already a little tipsy; one or two more couldn’t hurt.

with the tears still streaming down his cheeks, rowan’s comforting smile and allure helped the male to relax but he still couldn’t get over how much of a fool he’d made of himself. “b-but i ruined your dress. how can you forgive me for that? it’s… it’s so beautiful and i-i i’ve wrecked it,” he babbled, miniature wails escaping his insides. perhaps seeing her spoiled dress wasn’t helping the male calm down but as soon as her palm hit his shoulder, he felt himself taking deep breaths and his tears slowly drifting away. resting his head into his hands, he wiped away those that had fallen and furrowed his eyebrows as he tracked his gaze back to meet hers again. “i know. i drank too much. i was stupid. i was desperate. i didn’t want you to see me in this mess, i promised myself i wouldn’t. but i guess there’s nothing i can do now as you’re right, i’m a little drunk,” he sighed despondently, clutching his forehead once more as the throbbing began to worsen. looking down, he noticed his crutches were nowhere to be seen. “fuck, where’s my crutches? and how did i get here without them?” he inquired, hoping the other would know. but before he knew it, his injury wasn’t at the forefront of his mind and so shaking his head, he changed the topic back to what he actually had moved over to this area of the beach to do. “anyway, that doesn’t matter right now. i actually pulled you aside because i have something to tell you… i’m calm-ish now so i guess right now is now or never. if you’re willing to listen of course.” his expression drooped in a somewhat begging manner as he awaited her response.

he’s far more upset over this than she was, and truthfully had it been anybody else then discomfort would have certainly reigned. “it will come out.” she attempts to reassure him, before giving him a light shrug. “if it doesn’t, then it’s fine. i didn’t really like it anyway.” a lie given that it was one of her favoured dresses, but telling him that was hardly about to aid the situation, was it? his admittance of intoxication is intense and quick, leaving the blonde abruptly speechless. “it’s fine.” two words that she has a feeling she’ll be saying a lot tonight. “everybody gets carried away sometimes.” it’s a small, fragile fact but it was true. you couldn’t always be at 100%, no matter how much you wanted to. questions of his crutches are questions she can’t answer, since the truth is she’s no idea where his assistance sticks are. “maybe they’re at the bar?” rowan suggests, hoping that it’ll jog his memory and he’ll remember. if need be, she can go in hunt of them but the idea of leaving him alone, only for a few minutes, isn’t an idea that she enjoys. topic changes faster than british weather and blue eyes simply blink at him before gingerly taking a seat. something, some little voice, tells her that sitting down is best for the conversation at hand. “uhm... sure.” why wouldn’t she be willing to listen? was he about to tell her that he was a murderer? or that he was in fact a wanted man in california now? perhaps it would be worse, that he was the perpetrator of the cheesecake factory incident, but that thought was too cruel for her to dwell upon it for too long. “whatever you need to say; i’m here.”

‘ i don’t think they’re MEANT to be, but if i know those two, it’ll definitely be that way for a good amount of time. hopefully they’ll alternate so that all of their roommates can get some sleep, ’ she laughs. ‘ yeah if you’re down, that’d be sweet. really changes the way this whole holiday could play out, which is important to me - i want it to be an actual break, you know ? but whatever happens, h a p p e n s, i guess. you got any BIG plans for the week ahead ? ’

there’s some form of comedy exiting saskia’s lips, but it goes above rowan’s mind and is unpicked up by the blonde. “it can?” the idea of changing your entire vacation just on your roommates seemed a little ridiculous to her, but that isn’t something she comments on---- everybody had different values, and such. “oh.. not particularly. you sound like you do though,” she smiles.
