It was all a dream...

Last night I dreamed I was in huge field...there was a lot of muck, mud and mire but for the most part, things were relatively pleasant. I was surrounded by people I knew, some I recognized in the dream world and others I didn’t, though one face stuck out in particular. She was watching from a far as I was moving around, being entertained by the sights and sounds...all of a sudden, with the deft moves of an Asian assassin, she drew her weapon.

Tied together on what looked like fishing line or a rope were these four butterflies with white wings. She drew back and launched the rope in my direction. The “butterflies” showing themselves as safety pinned hooks. The hooks pierced me all over my body. They were drawn into me with their clasped pins. At first, I wasn’t sure what was happening. I was distracted and didn’t realize I was actually hooked all over me. Through my pants, my clothes and especially my skin. When I realized what was happening (with the help of an older gentleman whose speech impediment left him only able to point at my hooked skin clasped between the fake butterfly wings), I began to unhook myself...I was sort of in a disbelieving stupor. I couldn’t figure out how or why I had allowed myself to be hooked and in some ways, fooled by the disguised butterflies. It was so wild. I began to unhook myself before my friend Angel came over to help me. She unhooked me in places that were hard to reach like my back and neck. 

The hooks left butterfly wing shaped scars...the most noticeable of which I saw on my right wrist. The dream went on to do some other wildness that’s for another post but...I woke up in the middle of the night and felt very uneasy about the dream for the following reasons.

-The person who cast the hook and line is always disguised as a good witch but in reality she is a bad witch. A very bad witch with a terrible memory she only uses to assert her own devices. The butterflies disguised as hooks and safety pins is the method of operation for one who is duplicitous.

- The person who cast the hook and line has been trying to gain my attention for quite some time but for personal reasons, I have removed this energy from my life.

Now, I don’t want to get it confused, I felt uneasy...not afraid. I am unafraid for the following reasons.

-My girl Angel was in the dream and she literally had my back. If there’s anyone you want to be in your corner, it’s Angel. 

--The old man was a good sign as well. His speech impediment shifts me to Obatala’s wisdom and protection.

--I’m more powerful than anyone who would dare decide to tangle with me...in the ring or out of it. I’m the queen of the ring. Believe that.

I met with my homegirl this morning who is also hella magical and she told me I should write about it...so here we go.

Black on Both Sides

I’ve let go of some part of me that I am to retrieve in these next few weeks. In an effort to re-form a relationship with myself that I’ve missed, I’ll be listening to the Black on Both Sides album to recall those moments. I remember when I was just coming into knowledge of self. My own self. Sure, the Supreme Mathematics were a part of that but it was more about me discovering the ideology of Ru. What I am, who I am and why I am on this Earth. Mos Def also helped me learn more about my mind. I remember when I was just so...open to the knowledge and ancient ways, simply because it was new to me. I’m on a Sankofa mission....and I’m looking forward to touching base with my highest self.

I’ve never left myself or lost my purpose, it’s just evolved and now I’m more interested in those moments of transformation that started my journey and my path. More books, more thoughts, more writing. These are mere scribbles but....I feel better just reconnecting.
