Went to Hell for work; brought back a wife

Sketched this out after finishing the Hell's Paradise manga a few months ago. Didn't really like how this drawing was going and abandoned it; recently reopened and finished it. I think I needed to level up my hair drawing skills because these two ladies have complicated hair. Don't know what compelled me to render the hair line-by-line, and I don't know what compelled me to then do it 5 more times, but my wrist was on fire after.

How cutiesai made 14 Days With You

I've received quite a few requests in the past asking how I made 14DWY, what resources I used, how I organised my lore, etc. — so I figured I'd make one big post and share it with everyone else as well! It features a buuunch of helpful stuff I wish I'd known when I first made 14DWY, so hopefully this will help others too!

⚠ This is all copied & pasted from a Discord post I made back in early 2024! I'll also be adding to it over time, so feel free to check back every so often! ^^

What engine do I use?

14DWY uses the Ren'Py engine!

There are two preinstalled games (called "Tutorial" and "The Question") that give you a basic rundown on how to use the program!!

Zeil Learning's video called "Ren'py Tutorial For Beginners" is also a good place to start for those who have no idea where to begin with Ren'Py!

General tips to keep in mind:

Make games for fun, not for fame. Too often, I see new developers create VNs with "trending tropes" because they see how successful it is and want the same level of popularity. As harsh as it sounds, this only makes your game feel hollow and superficial, and players will notice.

When using Ren'Py, it's better to have multiple .rpy files rather than putting everything into one large file!! It makes organising and finding things easier, and if something gets corrupted... at least you won't lose everything!

Plan everything beforehand, but give yourself room to expand and implement new ideas.

Start small and slowly expand over time. Don't start off with an overly ambitious project, as it can be disheartening when you put all this effort into something just for it not to gain any traction. Also, be grateful for your earliest supporters, as they're the ones who will lift your project off the ground!!

This is a personal preference, but I recommend starting off with itch.io as your main distribution platform. Most storefronts take a cut from your donations and revenue, and sites like Steam require a $100 fee just to publish your game on their platform. Itch is free, and you can even toggle off revenue sharing in your profile settings! (I like to keep it at 10% though, because I'm grateful for everything the site provides ♡)

You may be wondering: Who are you? What are your pronouns? You’re a self-proclaimed zombie? Did you just say you want to eat your very adorable cat?? How did you pass university English, you have middle school level writing skills??!?! And I am here to cure your worries and answer your questions. Maybe not the last one. Or the zombie thing. I'm too tired to right now.

So...Greetings! my name is Cosimo and my pronouns are he/she/hir. I originally created this blog to consume fandom content I couldn’t find on other platforms, but now I’m going to start posing here. I’ll be sharing my art, maybe writing, and general thoughts about media. This all includes my own original art and stories. 

Before I start talking about media and fandoms, I’ll share what I like. I enjoy horror content across all genres, even if I am a pussy at watching and playing horror games. Monster Energy (my beloved <3) is my favorite drink. I love cats so fucking much, but it’s an indisputable fact that my cat is better than everyone else’s cat! He’s so soft and clingy! If you couldn’t tell already, I like creating shit. I’m currently in an animation program even if I am super lazy about doing my work. I enjoy playing video games, my current main platforms are PC and the Nintendo Switch. Finally, I am a big fan of yandere media. Was gonna rant about this one, but maybe later?

 Here are my current major interests: A Date with Death, Degrees of Lewdity, Hell’s Paradise, Lego Monkie Kid, The Summer Hikaru Died, and Persona 5.

Feel free to talk about these with me, but I won’t be very knowledgeable or up to date on them cause it’s not a priority in my brain.

While I don’t believe in DNI lists, I will say if you are bigoted, I will remove your ass off my page. Terfs, queerphones, anti-furries, anti-neopronouns, racists, and every asshole under the sun is not welcome here. Also, if you are a minor, please make your way out of here. I may post 18+ content and I'd rather you not look at that?
