Hello everyone I'm back on my bullshit and thinking about my noble ranks for the kingdom of fools again and I thought a bit about second-person pronouns and its making me insane

For those who don't know, the main difference between "thou" and "you" in early modern English is formal/informal: thou is informal, for people you know well or people of lower rank than you, while you is formal, for those you don't know well and ALWAYS for people of higher rank than you.

That being said...Aimsey doesn't like rules, and they really don't like ranks and titles and nobility. Imagine Aimsey, who refuses to use the formal you for anyone, and especially for nobility, speaking with Ros. At first, Ros is offended, and so are the other members of the kingdom of fools - this is not the respect that should be afforded to a duchess of the realm!

But Ros and Aimsey grow to know each other better, and slowly Ros grows to see that Aimsey is not trying to insult her, and the use of thou between the two of them becomes that of actual friends, of equals.

Then when Aimsey and Ros have their falling out, Ros doesn't realize how bad it is until she hears Aimsey say "you" to her, and it feels like a knife in her heart. Aimsey, who is never formal with ANYONE, is suddenly being formal with her, just to drive home the point that all their rapport, their friendship, means nothing anymore. Ros isn't Aimsey's friend anymore. She's a stranger.

And maybe neither of them ever knew the other.

also for anyone who didn't catch blockwars, tldr they all sucked (didn't win) and after the event sneeg joined clowns vc to yell at him a bit ! and clown told sneeg he'd streamsnipe him on marvel rivals and told the chatters to make their display name clownpierce related to gaslight him if they kill him <3
