Introductions

Hello, my name is Rose and my goal is to provide an in depth analysis of the popular web comic Homestuck. During the course of Homestuck's eight year run time across its over eight thousand pages it became a cultural phenomenon. You could hardly go anywhere without seeing someone who's read it. Homestucks were known to swarm conventions en masse and frequently in cosplay and grey snazeroo body paint. I was one of those people.

Homestuck had a massive presence on Tumblr, so much so that it garnered a specific tag for when the comic was live. Anyone talking about a new page or new act that has been released posted it with the tag #upd8. If you didn't want spoilers you avoided that tag entirely. It was even used when HS^2 was still being released.

The way I plan on compiling my thoughts on this adventure of epic proportions will be in chunks. Acts 1-3 will be covered in their own dedicated posts as those acts are fairly light compared to what comes after. Most of the intermissions will also be covered in their own posts with the exception of the Act 6 intermissions.

Once I've finished my analysis of Homestuck, I will dive into the analysis and failings of the epilogues and HS^2. That being said, this is meant to be for fun and to bring light to the smaller details you may not notice on a first read through, beware spoilers ahead and please be respectful!
