Rose felt numb in the best way possible. All that mattered to her right now was the man in front of her. They might be crazy, sure but at least they were together. She kissed him back when he kissed her, feeling complete in that moment. “You’re never getting rid of me,” she said with a smile before taking his hand, making their way to his room. “In two hundred years from now, I’ll still be right here with you.” She turned around then, putting his hand on the lowest part of her back. He would follow her anywhere. She knew that well enough. But this was about more than that. This was the two of them agreeing to follow each other until one of them couldn’t anymore. It was the best forever she could think of. She turned down the hallway to his room, leaning against the door before he could open it. “When we open this door, I want to see the other part of you. I want to see my mate’s wolf side. You’re going to show me exactly what happens when your wolf knows who I am. I want this to be the moment it goes from your wolf to my wolf. Because that’s what you are. I’m your siren and you’re my wolf. I’m your mistress, now and forever. And you’re my perfect boy. And I’m asking you tonight to not hold back. Show me just how much of a good boy you can be for me, hmm?” She cupped his cheek with her hand, eyes full of adoration as she looked at him. “I love you so much.”
When Salem had first come to the resort all he had wanted was company, someone who would spend some time with him, lay down with him at night, maybe- if he was lucky- someone who would take control and let him breathe, let him rest, let him have a break from the scorching realities of control and decision making and adulthood and everything else that weighed on his mind, he had always wanted to come out of it with a relationship but… he had never expected to, like buying a lottery ticket, sure you HOPE to win the jackpot but you never actually expect it…. and now here he was with the greatest jackpot of all, and he couldn’t possibly be happier, “I just want you too…. but I’m gonna insist on the propper ring atleast, you deserve the very best of everything in the world Miss Rose, and this is definitely at the top of the list,” sure Salem was hardly the best of anything… but he could give her the best, maybe, and if he was what she wanted then who was he to argue? “It’s crazy, but it suits us, you’re my one true love, my wife, the mother of my children, my soulmate… you’re everything to me and more,” he promised, leaning down to give her a soft, loving kiss, his arms wrapped tightly around her back as he gently swayed with her back and forth, “For as long as we’ve got and even more than that, I firmly believe that in every lifetime, in every afterlife, in whatever is waitin’ for us after death… you and I are still gonna be together, I know it,”

Coming to New Orleans brought with it an odd, almost role-reversal sort of situation, where Salem was comfortable and at peace, knowing everything and everyone, Rose seemed jumpy and nervous, like she was itching to peel her skin off, and that had been much the same way Salem had felt at the resort, he wondered if all people felt that way when they traveled, the resort had been the first place he had ever been to outside of New Orleans, so he wouldn’t know any different, and if Miss Rose of all people was feeling that way, then it must be some undeniable, universal thing right? He just hoped it was nothing that he had done, or anything he had implied, that made her so anxious, he’d absolutely die if that were the case…
“Oh! We’ve gotta stop in that antique shop! I found the most AMAZIN’ music box in there last year, I could find you somethin’ even nicer I bet!” he preened enthusiastically, this was where Salem was in his element, surrounded by familiar territory and with some money in his pocket, where he could treat Rose like a lady, the way she needed to be treated, instead of being cooped up in the resort where he had some sense of odd.. power.. just by virtue of being a guest, when his partner didn’t answer however, he glanced behind him to see why…. and found her gone
The panic that had gone through him when she wasn’t there anymore was unreal, the only thing that had even come close to comparing in his entire life was when he had lost control of Sabrina’s leash once and she had wandered out into traffic, he had known in that moment what a heart attack most feel like and here he was experiencing it all over again, luckily though, unlike trying to get a Pomeranian away from oncoming cars, finding Rose proved to be pretty easy, and when he did… he found himself at a loss for words- and a loss for breath, the beauty of his mate in her true form, the stunning, unreal beauty of her tail…. it was like he was in a dream all of a sudden
“Hey Little Mermaid,” he finally managed, taking a cautious step closer, “Do you mind if I stick around? Forgive me for bein’ so … speechless but… I just have never seen anything nearly as beautifull as that tail… and I thought you were unbelievable in your human form,”
Rose jumped when she heard Salem’s voice, blood turning to ice in her veins. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust him. In fact, she had never trusted anyone in her life more than Salem. It was more the fact that she was terrified she would think this was too much. That he couldn’t be with her if this was her true form. As he spoke, she knew she shouldn’t have worried. His words managed to calm her down, even blush as he spoke about her like she was something worth looking at. “Just when I think you can’t get more perfect,” she said to herself as she swam closer to him, arms coming up to rest of the side of the pool. She smiled over at him, not even really caring that she had no make up on or that her hair must look a wreck. The man in front of her loved her and wouldn’t care about any of that. He just wanted her. She felt herself falling even more in love as she held her hand out towards him.
“You can stick around all you want,” she said softly, voice sounding more like a song since she was in the water. She could easily get Salem to do what she wanted but she wanted to give him a choice. He wasn’t some prey to use, he was someone she cared about and wanted happy. “If...if you want you could come in with me. I mean you don’t have to. I’d understand if that freaks you out too much. But....if you did want to come in I’d love it.” She pulled her hand back, realizing how she was making it seem like not an offer, rather a demand. “Sorry. I just...no-nobody’s ever really wanted to be around when I’m like this. I’ve always thought about maybe sharing it with someone one day but I shouldn’t be forcing that person to be you if you don’t want. I know it’s weird for everyone else. It’s not normal and I get that.” She let herself swim across the pool then, hiding under the water to calm herself down. She broke the surface of the water and looked at Salem, heart in her throat. “If you don’t like it, it’s okay. You don’t have to. I can get better at doing it when you’re not around or just go somewhere else entirely.”

Rose had been alone for a long time. Even growing up, she felt disjointed from her family. She now knew why of course, she was her father’s lovechild. Her adoptive mother had never been cruel to her, rather the opposite. But Rose could never figure out why she didn’t feel the connection everyone else seemed to have with their parents. Once she knew the truth and found her biological mother’s real family, she still didn’t feel like she fit. She wasn’t enough for them. Never would be as part human. So she left, came to the resort to try and make some money before her looks faded. She never expected Salem. She never expected someone to make her feel not alone for the first time in her life. Her arms were tight around his neck, only pulling away for air when necessary but stayed close. “You don’t have to give me a proper anything, handsome. I’m yours already. I’d love to marry you. Go home with you and never leave. I...damn it all I just want you.” She looked at him once more, heart twisting seeing the emotion in them that was the same as hers. “You’re my mate, my husband, father of my children....all of it. I know it’s insane and crazy of me to think but I know it. And you know it too. That’s all that matters” She kissed him again, not even caring they were in the middle of a hallway at the resort. Rose was in love and he loved her back. “You’re mine and I’m yours for as long as we’ve got.”
Salem was….. “stunned” didn’t begin to cover it, he had never heard love professed so deeply, so soulfully and absolutely before, even in romance movies it was never anything close to this, it had his heart aching, and he did everything he could to blink some symbalance of life back into his brain before she mistook his silence for negativity, “Miss Rose… I KNOW that’ll work, what you just said to me… I’ve never heard anything like it, I’ve never heard anything so sincere, so beautifull, but… I feel the exact same way about you, I know it’s soon, like you’ve said, but I think that can be a good thing, to know that we feel this deeply, this clearly about eachother in such a short time… I think it means that we know deep in our souls we belong together- and to eachother,” he knew that what he was about to say next was probably pushing things, but if she was agreeing to being his mate… “I want to be your mate, I want to be your mate and… I want to be your husband too, whenever you’re ready to leave here, we’ll leave, and I’d really, really like to marry you, I’ll give you a real, proper proposal as soon as you’d like, but I want you to know that as much as you’re willin’ to commit to me, I’m more than willin’ to commit to you, you’re everything to me Miss Rose, and I want you in every way that you’ll allow me to have you,” he promised, leaning up to give her a kiss that matched in equal passion- equal emotion and love and depth- as the one she had given him beforehand, he wanted her to know how serious he was, he wanted her to know that as much as she was willing to put herself out on the line for him, he was willing to put himself out on the line for her too- always and forever

Salem was surprised by the change of pace, but not unpleasantly, he enjoyed public sex but there was still something that was just better about sharing those moments privately, between them and only them, having something that was just their’s alone, and hearing the way Rose was pleading for it… it just made him want to give in even more, “Yes ofcourse,” he breathed, cupping her face and giving his partner a soft, loving kiss before carefully sliding off of the bar chair, his arms wrapped around her to keep her from falling before gently pulling out and setting her on the ground, cheeks turning pink as he zipped himself back up and took her hand, bringing it to his lips and pressing an adoring kiss against her fingers, “I need just as much from you, all night, heck… all of my life, forevermore… let’s go now hm?”
He was so careful with her. Not in a way that made her feel like he was holding back or trying to baby her but in a total loving and adoring way. Like she was too precious to be anything but careful with her. She hadn’t even realized how much she liked it until he came along. Maybe it was fate that they were brought here together. She couldn’t think of another reason other than it was meant to happen. It scared her but she knew she shouldn’t be. Salem would be right there next to her. She knew that. “You’ve got me,” she said quietly, voice raw with emotion. “You’ve always got me.” She smiled at him before tugging him out of the bar. It felt like more to her somehow. Like this night was going to change things in the best way possible. “I’m....this is probably too soon and downright crazy but....I’m kind of crazy about you. It just feels right. You feel right. As long as you’ll have me, I’m yours. Here. Anywhere else. We can stay like this or be more serious or not even put a label on anything.” She took a shaky breath. “Just don’t make me go unless you know you have to to be happy. I know I have no right to ask it but just....please.” She didn’t care if she sounded desperate. She needed this to be real, to be something she could depend on. Something permanent. She didn’t think twice before moving in front of him, wrapping her arms around Salem’s neck and jumping to put her legs around his waist. “I want to be your mate. I’m terrified just saying it but in the best way. It’s me falling and knowing you’ll catch me. Because I do love you. I want the rest of your time on this planet. I want your devotion. Your time. Your children. All of it. I want stories told about the siren and her wolf. How they loved each tother and how they made their life all it could be.” She kissed him then, trying to pour out the emotion she had been denying all night into the kiss. “You think that’ll work? You and me always?”

Rose felt something inside her shift. It wasn’t a bad thing, quite the opposite, really. It felt like something clicking into place. Ever since she had started whatever this was with Salem....there hadn’t been anything else she wanted. He was perfect for her, understanding and caring in a way she didn’t think she’d ever deserve. Probably didn’t deserve it now but Salem made her think she might. A small sigh escaped her as he moved his hips, whimpering softly against his mouth. “We need to get back to your room,” she said, pulling away to look at him. She knew she must look awful, lipstick smeared and eyes red from holding back tears. Not sad tears, but happy ones. She cupped his cheek with her hand. “I need to have you like this all night. I need you next to me...beside me, all of it.” She had raw emotion in her eyes, the love she had for him there but also fear. She was scared he would leave, would break her heart. She’d let him go, she never would stop him from getting what he wanted. “Please, Salem.”
Salem had… honestly been surprised at how engrossed Rose was in the story, he didn’t consider himself to be that good of a storyteller and as much as he loved the fairytale his mother used to tell him, he wasn’t quite sure that it had much of an impact on non-werewolves, incidentally though, it seemed like it did, Rose had been so engrossed in every word that fell out of his mouth that she had seemed surprised when he actually slipped inside her, he never would have expected her mind to get that lost in … well, anything, but especially not some werewolf urban legend, it made him feel… important, somehow? She always made him feel important in some form or another, so very far from the usual uselessness he felt, but this was different, like there was some sort of extra weight there, like he was somehow giving her something that no one else could, it was a weird kind of importance but it felt spectacular and he supposed that was all that really mattered, “Could I see you as my mate?” he asked in confusion, “Miss Rose… I already do, I don’t think there are words to describe how much you mean to me, how much I love you, but if this… what we have, if this isn’t having a mate, I don’t know what is,” he promised, leaning in to give the siren a soft, slow kiss, starting to carefully rock his hips against her, the pace was slow at first, steady, wanting to build up to something more and not just go about haphazardly with it, “I can’t imagine you as anything but my mate, honestly, now that I know what this is like, now that I have you… I can’t imagine bein’ apart from you,”

He said it so easily. I’ll never let a night go by where I don’t tell you that I love you. Not even her own family had done that. But here Salem was, saying it as if nothing could be easier for him to do in the world. This should have made her want to run. She was immortal. She was going to stay looking like this for the next thousand years and then some. Wolves weren’t immortal. Salem would leave her just like her human family did one day and she knew if this went on, she wouldn’t be able to take it. He would break her in a way she couldn’t recover from. Yet she found herself leaning into him, whimpering softly when she felt his fingers on her. She loved him, too. She knew she did. Rose had been trying to tell herself she didn’t but she did. But she needed to tell him at the right time. Not in the middle of the bar. As he spoke, she moved her hips against his hand, listening closely to the story. It broke her heart. She felt for the Goddess, knowing full well that would be her one day. She and Salem weren’t separated by every force but they weren’t exactly on smooth waters. He was successful, handsome, charming. She was practically broke, homeless without her job, and a glorified escort. Not to mention two separate beings that in all probability, shouldn’t ever be together. She wasn’t sure she’d be able to give him everything he needs and it scared her. Another reason for her to run and never look back. She couldn’t. Not now. Not when she knew that she could have this. She was a siren, not an angel. Her kind were notorious for doing anything to get what she wanted, no matter what the cost might be. Salem pressing into her took her by surprise, so wrapped up in the story she didn’t even notice. Her arms wrapped tight around him as she pressed their foreheads together. “That might be my new favorite story,” she said softly, slowly moving her hips. She didn’t want to rush this now. It meant more than just a quick fuck. “It’s...it’s beautiful. Shows how much love and relationships mean to all of you.” The itch was under her skin but it was different. She wanted that, too. She didn’t want to be a lone creature her whole life like many sirens were. She wanted a pack, someone to come home to. “And you could see me as that? Your mate?”
“And I can honestly say the same to you, you’ll always have me Miss Rose, come hell or high water or somethin’ in between, I’ll always be here for you,” he promised, he had never had anything even close to this, all of his other relationships- if you could even call them that- had been so… short-lived, one-night-stands and hookups that always meant more to Salem than they did to his partner, but not this time, this time it was different in every conceivable way, “I’ll never let a night go by where I don’t tell you that I love you Miss Rose,” he said honestly, he knew accidents and misunderstandings and tempers rising were all bound to happen, but just knowing that Rose intended so honestly to not let those things get in the way of their relationship made it all seem so… easy to get around, like those things wouldn’t even matter at all, and most likely, they wouldn’t, “I’m glad you like it, knowing that I’ve somehow charmed someone so beautifull, so alluring… someone who could quite truly have anybody you want and you want me… believe me, that’s a power trip of it’s own,” he promised, making sure his claws had shifted back into blunt nails before gently sliding his fingers between her legs, starting to pepper kisses down her throat as he rubbed his thumb lazily against her clit, “I s'pose… the first thing would be how incredible mates are, there’s this fairytale in werewolf society, never written down, just passed down from generation to generation, about how werewolves came to be, in it, a mortal man fell in love with the moon goddess, for she was the only one who showed him kindness, and the moon goddess fell in love with him in return, for he was the only man to ever acknowledge her power, or… acknowledge her at all really… but they were seperated by every force of nature you could imagine, they could never be together, so one night, when the Goddess was at her most powerfull, she blessed her mortal beloved with a gift, it was a wonderfull, magical gift, she gifted him with the shape of a wolf, so that no matter where he was, or how far away he was from her, no matter how lonely their hearts were or how cloudy the sky was, all he’d have to do is howl and she would hear him, for werewolves, howlin’ ain’t just a way to communicate, it’s our worship of the Goddess that gave us this gift, a pledge to her, a love song, the first wolf wandered the earth alone for years and years, only comforted by the light of the moon, until one day, he finally found what he needed to cast a spell that would unite him with the Goddess, he offered up his soul to her- an oath that the gift she gave him would continue on for every generation in his bloodline, an oath that he would give the gift onto other lonely hearts so that they would find somewhere to belong like he did, he would offer a peice of himself to them- the pack bond an Alpha shares with their betas- as tribute, and in return for that oath, the Goddess gave him enough magic to perform his spell, the spell worked, and the moon shook in the sky, and a peice of moonlight fell away from the clouds and landed in the woods beside him, the Goddess could only give him a tiny peice of herself, but that peice was enough to unite their hearts, to give them the happiness they craved, for as long as he lived, and when he died, he became an Ancestor, a powerfull spirit to watch over all werewolves from that moment on, and he lived with the moon goddess for the rest of eternity,” he pressed a gentle kiss right over her heart, moving his fingers away and steadying her hips, “For wolves, having a mate ain’t like havin’ a marriage or a relationship or anything that could be put into human terms, it’s… it’s binding your souls, a bond that’ll last in every lifetime, in every universe, in the afterlife, two spirits who love eachother so deeply that they could never find another, even if they could never be together, it’s a bond so strong that it’ll be sustained even if all you ever have of your mate is a sliver of their soul, a call in the darkness or a lock of hair, that’s all that’s needed, that’s enough,” he took a shuddering breath, carefully pressing into her and biting his lip, “That’s what a mate is to me,”

“You’ve got me. You always will.” In this moment, it seemed that every other person she had said that to was a lie. In a short time, she knew Salem had her. That for the rest of time, she’d compare everything to the man that looked at her like she hung the stars. Who she happened to start talking to and found something she hadn’t realized she was missing. She cupped his cheek with her hand, thumb moving under his eye. “There are some times where you might disappoint me. And I’ll disappoint you. But I’ll always adore you. That will never change. I might get mad and you might too but I know at the end of the day, I’ll still end up in your bed, telling you goodnight and tucking in by your side. That’s all that matters.” She couldn’t help the small whimper when his claw came out. “You have no idea how much of a power trip it is when you do that,” she said before kissing him once more. “How easily I know you could hurt me. But knowing full well you never would. Gods that’s hot.” She kissed him harder this time, rubbing her hips against his. “You should start by fucking me,” she said with a chuckle. “But I want to hear everything. What being your mate means. How we make it official. What it means to you. Anything special you can think of.”
“Well if you’re selfish, than I’m the most selfish person on the planet, I want all of you and only you, I want all of your time, all of your energy, all of your heart and soul… I want everything from you Miss Rose,” he said softly, honestly, staring up at her the way someone might stare at a shimmering star- full of wonder and innocent joy, kissing her back with enthusiasm and excitement, “And I want to know the same, I want to please you in any and every way, and I want to make sure I know how to do that, I want to make sure I never disappoint you,” he said softly, “And please believe me, you could never do anything wrong,” he promised with a gentle smile, gasping quietly at the boldness of her undoing his pants, not that he minded at all, he was just a little surprised, “Yes Miss,” he gasped quietly, arching his hips and hugging her closer, a small smirk playing on his lips at the question, “Never, Miss,” he usually would have waited to get more explicit permission before going further, touching more, but he had a feeling he didn’t need permission this time, so carefully brushed his hands beneath her skirt, letting a claw spring out to slice through the band of her underwear and moving his other hand down to her thigh, squeezing and massaging gently as he started to press kisses down the side of her throat, “My mate…” he breathed, nipping her flesh here and there as he rocked his hips a little harder, rubbing up against her, “Where do I begin?”

New Orleans was gorgeous. There was no way to deny that. Though Rose wasn’t sure that her vision was clouded by how Salem was in the town. He was relaxed, comfortable and assertive in a way she hadn’t seen back at the resort. She had enjoyed watching him these past few days. The little things that she never was given a chance to see with anyone before. Not to mention, his house was one of the nicest places she had ever been in. She let herself think for only a few minutes about actually living there. Being able to call this her home. She’d be a glorified guest, really. She wouldn’t be able to really find a job that wasn’t some crappy thing that paid only a few dollars an hour. While she could always work in one of the strip clubs or bars with those kinds of reputations, she didn’t want to do that. It wasn’t like it was at the resort. This was Salem’s home. She couldn’t put him at risk like that. And if she was going to be here with him ever, she needed to get away from what she was doing. No matter what, she was going to look like she was leaching off him. If she had a somewhat respectable job, at least she could take some of the flack he’d get.
All of this caused that itch under her skin to come out in full force. They were surrounded by water so it could have been worse but she still needed to get in it. Slipping away quietly, she went down to the pool and jumped in. She hadn’t bothered with a swim top. She’d just be in there long enough to calm down and out before Salem noticed she was gone. She felt her tail the second she hit the water. It always felt weird, her skin coming together and forming the silver and purple tail she knew well. She didn’t think too much of it, swimming around and loosing track of time. She always felt more complete this way. Like something had clicked into place. But it wasn’t a forever thing. She couldn’t always be like this. Rose kept moving around the pool, forgetting there was someone there who might be able to see her

“Part of me wants to be upset with those people who didn’t want your heart. But then I might not get you and I’m really becoming selfish with you around. I don’t want anyone else to have you.” She leaned forward and kissed him softly, smiling as she pulled away. “I do want to talk about it, yes. Just like with this, I want to know what your expectations are and how you think things should be. I don’t want to do something wrong or not what you want because I didn’t know.” She kissed him again as her hands worked the button of his pants, not bothering to pull away. “But I also need you. It’s been two days since you’ve fucked me and I need you. I want to hear what being your mate would be like while you fuck me. Remind me why I’ll never need anyone but you again.” She pulled his cock out of his pants, stroking it slowly. She pulled her hand away after a few moments and playfully raised an eyebrow at him. “You gonna make me do all the work?”
“It’s pretty easy Miss, you’re a much more wonderfull person, so ofcourse I want to be around you,” he explained with a shy smile, he didn’t hesitate to gently wrap his arms around her waist, wanting to make sure she was secure in his lap, and just as he was about to agree that sex with her was without a doubt the most amazing thing he had ever felt in his life… she took his breath away, amazement flashing across his face as she tapped against his chest, “You never could’ve failed at anything,” he said honestly, his eyes wide and honest, “Miss Rose… you’re perfect, I don’t know who told you different but… they were wrong,” he chewed on his bottom lip, carefully taking her hand and looping their fingers together, “Nobody’s ever…. wanted me for anything but my body… for what I look like… nobody’s ever wanted my heart before you, I can’t possibly thank you enough,” he said honestly, hugging her a bit tighter and nuzzling gently into her shoulder, staring up at his mistress wide-eyed as she continued to speak, the idea of leaving here with her one day, going someplace together and being her’s… it was the most incredible thing he could imagine, “I’ll always be good for you Miss Rose, always always,” he promised honestly, eyes sparkling with joy, he nodded slowly with each instruction, only growing more and more excited with every word, “You… really? You want to be my mate? You… wanna talk about it and stuff?” he asked quietly, grinning from ear to ear, “Yes Miss! Absolutely!” he promised, leaning up and giving her a soft, chaste kiss, “My mate… I like the sound of that,”

“Fuck, handsome,” she said softly, ducking her head. That weird twist in her chest was going on again and she knew what it was. It was the tug she had been trying to rationalize away for a week now. It didn’t really seem to be working all that well. “I have no idea how you can be this wonderful of a person and want me around. It’s blowing my mind.” She pulled back enough so she could look at Salem for a moment. She didn’t wait to straddle his waist, arms moving around his neck. “I love sex with you. Physically? There isn’t anyone better than you I’ve ever seen. I’d be mad if I wasn’t the one waking up next to you. But what makes you even better is what’s here.” She tapped over his heart, looking at him with a sincere smile. “That’s what makes me stick around. You’ve managed to make me feel like I haven’t failed...which is saying something. It’s...you have no idea how big that is for me.” She kissed him hard, pressing her body against his as best she could. “We’re going to leave this place together one day. I’m going to do everything I can to make you happy and successful. We’re going to be what everyone wishes they were. They’ll think they have us figured out but we’ll know what’s going on. We’ll know just how good you are for me.” She bit her lip hard, one hand tangling in Salem’s hair. “We’re going to do something right now, okay?” She smirked at Salem before kissing him once more. “You’re going to fuck me. Just like this. Right now. You’re not allowed to come until I tell you to. And I have to stay in your lap.” She leaned forward to whisper in his ear. “And while you’re fucking me, you’re going to tell me just what being your mate would be like. What you want from your mate. How you’d be. All of it. And once we’ve both come, you’re taking me back to your room and the second we’re there, you and I are going to do just that. We’re going to see what mates would be like.”
Hearing Rose’s insecurities was … sobering, he knew that she had them, to a degree, but he had never quite heard them all put out on the table like this before, it was heart-breaking to think that she actually thought he felt forced to do something that he was practically dieing for, “Miss Rose, I swear to you on my life, I don’t feel like I have to, I WANT to, more than anything in the world, I want to be your’s forever, and for you to be mine, I could never think anything like that of you, I know you, you’re strong and smart and independent… believe me, you’re the last person I would ever think would try to take advantage of me,” he said honestly, reaching up to gently squeeze her hand, “I didn’t go to college either, barely finished highschool, I waited ALOT of tables and served ALOT of booze to get the money for my place, I worked three jobs at once near the end of it, I know it ain’t easy to work these days, especially when you’re not human,” he said softly, giving her a slight, bittersweet smile, “Miss Rose, there is not a single thing on this planet that I would be ashamed to tell anybody about in regards to you, you could go kill somebody and I’d still be eager to tell people about it, there’s nothin’ that you could ever do to make me feel … not proud of you, least of all this, let’s remember that wile you work here I paid a HEAVY price to stay here, I’m PRETTY sure I’d look just as bad- if not worse- than you in this story, but .. nobody’s got the right to judge anybody for any of this anyway, so we both really like sex and sometimes money is involved with it, it ain’t any of their business,” he leaned into the touch, eyes closing breifly, “Trust me… you’re the only person left in this world who thinks I’m perfect, and the people who don’t? They’ve got PLENTY of reasons for their thoughts without even knowin’ who you are, believe me, people’s perception of me… it’s been bad since I was a kid, ain’t got nothin’ to do with you, never will, in fact I’m sure people will only wonder how I ever got somebody so OUTRAGEOUSLY out of my league to even glance at me, much less actually be my mate,”

Rose wasn’t sure how to feel. She had never let herself feel comfortable in any kind of relationship, let alone a romantic one. And here Salem was, talking about something long term. It was comforting but at the same time terrified her. She smiled at him, pouring a drink before taking a sip. Grabbing his arm, she moved it around her shoulders, giving her a comfortable place to lean back. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to. It’s...I’m not exactly one to get a job easily. Even more so after this place. I don’t want you to think that I’m someone who just wants to live off you. I don’t want other people to think that either and I don’t want that falling to you if I can’t find something to do. I mean, I didn’t go to college. I spent my time before here trying to figure out what I was and how to deal with it. I’m not exactly a catch when it comes to jobs.” She looked up at Salem, then. “If...no that’s....when I leave with you, I want to do something that’ll make you proud of me. Or well....not something you’d be ashamed to tell people if they ask about me.” She raised her free hand to his cheek. “I don’t want people to have any reason not to think you’re anything other than perfect.”
“And I adore you,” he smiled back honestly, how could he not? Rose seemed to accept him for who he was, kinks and flaws and all, and she didn’t want to change him or reshape him or alter him any way, she just… wanted him, and that was something completely and entirely new to him, “Yes Ma'am, I will absolutely tell you,” he promised, he was a pretty open person kink wise, there weren’t alot of things that he wouldn’t atleast try once, but when he DID have a limit, it was a pretty clear one, and not something he would have any trouble safewording out of, “A necklace?” he asked brightly, eyes shimmering with excitement, a necklace was the closest socially appropriate thing he could get to a collar, and he had always wanted so BADLY to be collared by his master or mistress, though… there was one thing that concerned him, “You’re talkin’ like you expect me to go home without you,” he said softly, “Miss Rose… with all due respect, I can’t honestly see a situation where I could just.. leave here on my own,” not unless it was some weird life or death emergency atleast, “I .. don’t have much waitin’ for me at home, I have my restaurant but that’s all, and that doesn’t need my tending every day or… heck, even at all if I wanted to turn it over to a different chef, I’m happy with you, I’m happy here, when you want to leave, I’ll leave with you, but as long as you want to stay, then so do I,” he said softly, he knew it sounded like an enormous commitment, but he spoke the truth, here at the resort he had someone who cared about him and atleast some symbalance of freindships, back home… all he had was work, how could he even think of going back there without her? “Nah it doesn’t bother me,” he smiled honestly, leaning into her touch, “La Lune D'Automne has a bar, so I’m used to people drinkin’, even my employees- when they’re off work o'course,”

For most people, Rose would think it was a line. That they would say that but then in a week be over her. But with Salem...it wasn’t that. For the first time in her life she actually believed that someone was going to stick around. At least for a while. “Gods, I adore you,” she said sincerely, looking at him with awe in her eyes. “That’s all I ask. I just want your honesty and for you to feel comfortable with me. And that goes for if I’m doing something you don’t like. Unless it’s a punishment for something, it’ll be unintentional and I’m counting on you to tell me.” She leaned forward and kissed him once more, not really able to stop herself. “I know we’ve still got a little time but I’m already thinking of how I’m going to show you’re mine. Maybe a necklace. Something you can wear even when you’re back home and know that I’m still there with you. Something that I can have, too. That way when I’m here, I can hope at least you’re wearing yours. Maybe thinking about me, too.” She knew she had to stop thinking about that. That was something she needed to be upset about on her own. Not when Salem was actually here with her. “It’s not weird at all. Plenty of people don’t drink.” She looked over at him, cupping his cheek with her hand. “Will it bother you if I do? Be honest, handsome.”
“I could never, EVER be sick of you,” Salem said quite honestly, grinning brightly at the kiss, and his eyes were practically shimmering at the idea of getting rewards from his mistress- and for such a fun game too! “I’ve never done anything like this before either… nothin’ long-term I mean, I’ve got no idea how any of this works… but I can promise with absolute certainty that there’s no way I could ever kill you,” he promised, gently taking her hand, “I promise Miss Rose, I’ll always be open and honest with you, I’ll never keep anything from you, I swear it,” he found the thought of complete honesty to be… incredibly freeing, actually, he had never had a relationship with anyone other than humans, people he had had to keep his entire species a secret from, being entirely honest was .. an incredible thing to think about, “O-Oh um.. I actually don’t drink alcohol,” he confessed shyly, “I know it’s… kinda weird,”

alison-dawn:
Alison had to admit the advice was sound, though she was eager to get started. “You’re probably right. I guess I’m just a little antsy because I’ve just been so excited. I think I just need to slow down a little.”
“I remember that feeling. It was a bit crazy at first. But I’ve now come to see how awesome it is to have a slow night.” She smiled before holding out her hand. “I’m Rose.”

“I’m glad you aren’t sick of me if I’m being honest.” She smiled before kissing him softly. “We could make it a game. See how long it takes you. And give you rewards based on that.” His next words made her pause, shaking her head. “No, no you never did anything like that. I’ve...never done anything like this before and I don’t want you to think you’ve done something wrong because I don’t know how to communicate correctly. You’re so good. So good in a million different ways. You’re not going to loose me. The only way that will happen is if you somehow manage to kill me. Which I can already tell you never would. I promise you, handsome. Just stay open and honest with me and everything will be fine.” She was about to speak again when the waiter came back, opening the bottle and leaving it there. She poured a glass for herself before smiling at him. “Do you want a glass?”
Salem gave a soft purr of happiness and satisfaction at the affection, “Me too, I’ve been so used to bein’ able to see you all day every day, I don’t know how I’d get through a day without you… guess I’ll just have to turn it into a game every day, find ya’ before anybody else does, atleast until you’re ok with me asking them to make you my personal staff member,” he mused, he was just happy that Rose wasn’t sick of him, he had worried that she might want to branch out and get some time away from him now that they were back, but that didn’t seem to be the case, Rose’s explanation honestly took him by surprise, eyes wide and round with curiosity and confusion, had he implied that he thought that? That she had been cold or distant? He certainly hadn’t meant to, he gave a gentle smile, carefully taking her hands and giving them a soft squeeze, “Miss Rose… I can promise you, with absolute certainty and honesty, you have never ever been that way to me, you’ve always been the most kind, loving, affectionate person I’ve ever known, you’ve always been amazin’ to me, I’m sorry if I ever did anything to imply that you weren’t, I’m just… cautious, I guess, I don’t want to risk to losin’ you, and I’ve had dominants before who are .. stricter.. about affection, and when and where I’m allowed to touch, how much of their time I’m allowed to have, I never want to risk over-steppin’ my boundaries I s'pose,”

“This is perfect,” she said with a smile, hang moving to play with the hair on the nape of his neck. “I’m so happy I ran into you. I wasn’t sure how I was going to deal with not seeing you all the time suddenly.” A waitress came by and she ordered a bottle of champagne and two waters, not entirely sure which Salem was in the mood for. “I never did thank you for letting me come with you. I realized it last night when I was down in the basement. I hope you aren’t upset with me or think it meant nothing. It....all of it meant the world to me. You mean the world to me.” She cupped his cheek with her hand, smiling softly at him. “You’re so good to me, my sweet boy. And you’re very much deserving of me being thankful for that. I’m very sorry if I made you feel like you weren’t.” She wasn’t totally sure if that was the case but she didn’t want Salem to think for a second he wasn’t perfect. “I want you to tell me if I’m ever making you confused about stuff like that, okay? I will never, ever mind explaining my thoughts to you. If I’m being honest, sometimes I don’t realize when I’m being weird about stuff. I’m used to having people around who care enough so I get closed off. I don’t realize I’m doing it and I never want to upset you because of that.”
“You know that I do Miss,” Salem grinned, he was somewhat like a puppy that way, absolutely and utterly attached to Rose and eager to spend every single ounce of his time with her, he liked to think that it was fate rather than luck that he had run into her a moment ago, otherwise they may very well have missed eachother, “A drink sounds lovely Miss,” he answered politely, it made sense, Salem hadn’t actually submitted any forms for keeping Rose as a personal staff member yet and they hadn’t really even talked about it much, so it might seem odd if she immediately took off with him for the entire day, atleast this way people would know he was requesting her company, the moment he sat down and his mistress climbed into his lap, Salem’s already good mood jumped up to being an absolutely STELLAR mood, so he was a little touch-starved and kind of thought Rose being so close to him was the eigth wonder of the world- big deal, “More than ok Miss, I always love havin’ you as close as possible,” he said honestly, wrapping his arms around his mistress and allowing his cheek to rest against her shoulder, “Is this ok?”

Rose smiled up at him from her spot on the bed. While she was the one that wore the pants in their relationship, she knew that Salem had just as much power as her. It wasn’t the same, but he could say stop at any time. As much as it would hurt, she’d let him do it if it’s what he wanted. It scared her that this quickly her feelings were already that strong. She flipped them over so she was on top, smiling down at him. “I don’t want you saying sorry for not telling me. I get why you didn’t. You’ve been hurt before and it’s made you defensive and anxious to share some stuff that isn’t as common.” She leaned down, kissing Salem with as much passion as she could. “I’m not those people. I don’t scare easy. Like I said, I know you didn’t do this intentionally. And you being honest with me now is proof that you’re still my best boy. All I ask is that next time you come to me, okay? We’ll talk things out just like we did. I promise to be honest with you if I’m not comfortable or if I’m not sure about things. With you...I’m willing to try just about everything. Which is one of the best things about you. I’m never this adventurous with anyone else.” She was being truthful. She never would have gone with this if it had been anyone else in the resort. But Salem was different. She had known that for a while now. It didn’t scare her as much as it should. “I hope to be your first time for more than just this,” she said as she leaned back up. “How about you show me just how incredible you feel, hmm? Let me see how good to me you can be.” She smirked down at him. “It doesn’t have to be tonight but one day I wan’t to see my wolf come out a little with these on. But we can talk about that later. Now it’s been much to long since I’ve had you like this and I’m starting to get impatient.”
Salem was truly the luckiest person on the planet, he couldn’t imagine anyone being as amazing as Rose, and he was still frequently stunned by the fact that she wanted anything to do with him at all- but the fact that she wanted to keep him, that she wanted him to belong to her and only her… it was like waking up to a miracle every morning, “Yes Miss,” he said with a gentle smile, if he was honest, he really enjoyed the fact that she was monitoring his reaction like this, it proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that she truly and sincerely cared about his comfort, it made him feel even safer than he already felt, “Yes Miss,” he agreed in a breathy, excited voice, the only thing he could imagine being better than Rose accepting him in lingerie was his mistress actually picking out his lingerie for him, deciding what colors she liked from day to day, helping him shop for it, it was a dream come true, “I am sorry I didn’t tell you Miss, it’s just… there are alot of kinks that I can live without that.. have a tendency to freak people out, I was entirely honest with you when I told you what I liked, really, I just.. figured I’d leave the more um… outlandish… sorta stuff for later, I’d so, so much rather build somethin’ with you that lasts on the stuff I like most and leave off the crazier things than to just.. list everything I have even a remote interest in and risk scarin’ you… I know it sounds terrible of me but I’ve run off alot of partners before from being too weird and I… I really didn’t want to risk that with you, I’m sorry,” atleast Rose understood though, it would have crushed his heart if he had ended up making a mess of things by, well, trying to AVOID making a mess of things… he grinned brightly at her question, eyes lighting up even more as he carefully leaned over her, tilting his head with mock curiosity, “I feel INCREDIBLE about makin’ love to you with these on,” he said honestly, leaning down a little bit closer to hover just over her ear, “I’ve never touched a woman wile wearin’ lingerie before, you’re my very first time doin’ this,”
