While I didnāt do the christmas redraw art this year like I was wanting to, I still wanted to do something christmas-y with them.
Ornaments in their world originated by being representations of each person in the color of their soul. So the idea behind this is they got ornaments that match their soul colors and they each drew themselves to cut out and put on their respective ornament :) Except for Bridey, Ashton made Brideyās cuz spoiler reasons.
It was so hard thinking of what each of their art styles are like lol. As for varying a bit from their actual designsā¦ that was hard lol. Mikeās style is closest to mine so his was easy but the others not so much. But the others have like slightly different hair to what I usually draw them with. Trying to think of how theyād simplify themselves was a bit of a challenge, Ashtonās hair being the most difficult. Mike and Aroma draw the most out of all of them. Wisteria and Roxanne draw open occasion and for the fun of it. Ashton doesnāt draw as much as the others. Also yeah, Ashton draws himself with his resting āglareā so heās the only one not smiling lol. But heās still festive with his little hat :) He gave Bridey one too to match.
Oh yeah, I didnāt colorpick at all for this. Iād imagine itās hard for them to get the exact colors with crayons. And the ornaments are bought so theyāre also not the exact hex codes either, I just eyeballed everything.

Practice with speech bubbles :)
For the text message one, this is cuz when characters are actively texting, I donāt want every other panel to be a phone screen. Itād usually be like this: first message is shown with a phone screen, but any new messages in the same scene will most likely be shown through a āspeechā bubble that points to the phone. And on the corner will have the characterās contact name and the time the message was sent. Those details will be above the left corner if the message with received, and above the right corner if the message was sent by the character weāre currently watching.
Also the yelling ones would usually be in all caps lol. I didnāt wanna do anything too crazy with the text itself (aside from using a different font and uncentered text for the text message one) cuz I mainly focused on bubble shapes. The way the text itself looks can give away tone. For example: a harsh whisper would look like the whisper example shown in the image, but with italicized text, maybe even bolded as well depending on how harsh the character is whispering.

There has been a recent development that I wonāt get into cuz itās not really relevant but just gonna say that it will allow me to spend more of my art-time on my own personal projects (mainly Rose Fall stuff) again. soon. Thereās still another project Iām on that I want to prioritize but once Iām done with that, I can fully focus a lot of my art-time on developing Rose Fall more :)
I keep putting it on hold due to other art stuff getting priority. So a lot of the time I use up for art, mainly throughout this year, has been dedicated to those. But Iāve been kinda itching to get back to Rose Fall. Last time I hung out with this friend of mine, I went into this whole ramble about some of the characters at one point and I realized how long itād been since I fully thought about them for an extended period of time like that. Iām so ready to get back into it

A bit wonky cuz Iām tired but looking better :) this looks more like him, yippee
I just needed a ref lol. Recently Iāve been sketching Mike more, heās good for practice. But because of that I havenāt been drawing Ashton much so I got a bit rusty with drawing him from memory š

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

Saw my previous rb and it made me think. āDrawing my characters relaxing would be a cute drawing exercise character study type thing. Like drawing each one showing how they spend their relaxation time. Rose Fall may not be a slice of life story but boy do I love to imagine them in mundane domestic slice of life scenarios lol
I should try to remember this cuz I wanna do it at some point lol

Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

i dont think ive ever done this before, accept my sloppy 20 min explanation + bonus notes below!! (feel free to ask follow ups! this is just my pose/skeleton style, I wasn't sure which part you wanted help with :x)
ā ļøTHIS IS NOT A DO/DONT GUIDE AND IS BASED ONLY ON HOW I PERSONALLY DRAW!!!ā ļø
these days i usually look for references or at least inspiration for poses on pinterest, which can be broken down to whatever kind of "skeleton" youre comfortable with!! this is how i draw mine :3
i go for a blocky head that i shape out AFTER the face is added, so i can reference where the eyes and mouth are for the cheek placement
i block out the ribcage, torso, and pelvis, the legs usually have to be adjusted a lot with lasso/transform tools bc they start to skew right most of the time xD i use those a lot in the sketch phase, if youre drawing digitally, take advantage of this!!!
important things to note!!
-thighs/calves are usually rounder on the top! ankles and knees are typically the thinnest point (i can do a separate tut for fat if anyone wants!)
-arms are curvy too, i'll admit this example is drawn a bit hastily so its not a great example, but typically the forearm and back of arm(?) are flat and the opposite side will "pop out"
-tails are harder than expected tbh, posing a tail can be difficult! drawing a tail bone is a must for me, thin tails are like tubes, fluffier tails like wolves are a bit easier! padding with fluff makes everything look better bc you can cover up any parts that look kinda "off" xD
-i dont differentiate "male" or "female" figures, just build and vibes. id rather be told directly where a character holds their weight, if they have breasts or not, etc. blocky vs curvy tutorials you will always be infamous (bad)
i have no idea if this makes any sense so feel free to ask more!! im really happy a beginner would come to me for advice... ;; good luck!!
