Spot that cat's vague shape in this distance photo I took earlier to check if she was sleeping. She was. I did it again and got worse quality photos a minute ago but she is finally fucking relaxed.

This cat is lucky she is so cute because she has little 3 hour long kitty cat panic attacks about not being able to worm her way under the bed. I built her a blanket fort even as she drove me half mad. I meticulously bribed her and rewarded her. It is 3:30. I got 5 hours of sleep last night bc period insomnia.

Yeah so.

- her teeth are very small and pointy, very kitten teeth

- she can't easily fit adult sized cat treats in her mouth, like, at all

- she got played with to exhaustion three times in an hour and still has endless energy, like, under one energy.

- her forehead whiskers do not extend past her nose At All despite being very prominent already

- she is very unconfident about jumping even though she is showing no impairment of jumping ability; usually kennel cats (ime) get over this quick, if they are actually adult cats.

- she bends and topples over herself like a baby cat does not like an adult cat

- she meows a lot a lot a lot a lot a lot and she meows very high; chatty is just personality but pitch is vocal chord development.

- she is testing her environment in ways that display expected environmental curiosity and interesting physics curiosity I recognize in much younger kittens (3-6 months)

I think this cat is.... Not a year old? Let alone 2.

Chani was said to be 2 years old but she's like. Reallllly baby. Really baby. She still chews with her eyes closed and her teeth are really small. She's also not got the bodily grace I expect from a 2 year old cat, more like a 13 month old, really.

If I end up with a Maine coon sized cat I will be disgruntled.

Finally got a good look at her relaxing in profile today. Not a one of her forehead whiskers reaches even a nanometer past her nose. I do nooot think this cat is 2.

Chani needs to be trained out from under the bed sooner than I would like because she. She hasn't learned to duck as she crawls out? So she. She bonks her head every time. And earlier she ran into the edge of the frame full speed. So she can't be trusted not to concuss herself. She does not have adequate eyebrow whiskers and despite her really good pattern recognition so far. She can't. Figure out that that little dip that she can see is always in the same place. Bonking it gently as she exits is just being a cat; running into it so hard she has to lay down and be dizzy for three minutes is. Well you can't be under there as your default safe zone anymore. Because it isn't safe.
