MadaTobi Week 2021 Prompts

Your votes have all been tallied and Mods are very happy to announce the prompts for MadaTobi Week 2021! This year we will have a month long event taking place over July 2021 and each week will have two prompts to choose between. Rather than a Monday to Sunday format, for the purposes of this event Mods will be using the number of the days to avoid partial weeks or the like. 

As promised, Mods have taken some time to consider all the opinions given to us concerning possible changes to this year’s prompts. After hearing from all of you and taking some time to think about it Mods have decided to go with what we hope is a middle ground - and we also hope that everyone will be respectful of our attempt to answer all voices. We will not be changing these prompts. However, we will be allowing any participant who wishes to use this random prompt wheel should they be entirely uninspired by what was voted in. As we have always tagged each entry with the prompt used, those who did not wish for this to be included are invited to block the tag “randomly generated prompt” if they do not want to see it included in the event. Changes to how next year will be conducted will be included in our FAQ. 

Without further ado, here are your selected prompts:

July 29th to July 31st will be considered catch up days to post anything you did not already have time to post during the event.

All participants have officially been matched!

We apologize for the waiting limbo, but it’s official! Every participant has been matched with a gifter for the event ^^

Since we’ll now officially move into the creating period, we wanted to lay out a few reminders for the months ahead between now and the posting period:

During the month of May, we will be reaching out to all participants to make sure you’re all still with us. This will be a check-in to see how the gifts are coming along. You do not have to have your gift completed at this time, nor do we require any proof that you’ve started it, but we highly encourage participants to have started making good headway into their gifts by then. Life can come out of nowhere. Computers can break, tablets can go on the fritz, and people can lose track of time. We’re giving you several months to work on stuff so use them if you can!

If we do not hear back from someone for the check-in by the end of May, we will consider that participant to have dropped from the event. We will contact a pinch-hitter so their giftee is not left out. Those who drop out before the start of June will not be barred from participation for this event, but it is highly discouraged to wait that long to drop out. If you feel like you cannot complete a gift in time, please contact us so we can make arrangements - it’s easier on us and the pinch-hitters if we have as much advanced notice as possible.

If anyone drops out after the start of June, or gets back to us during the check-ins and does not post a gift by the end of June, they will not be allowed to participate in any future gift exchanges run by the Mods.

Please check your tumblr blog settings to see if people are allowed to tag you in posts. We won’t say you have to allow people to tag you in posts, but we are making it required for gifters to at least attempt to tag their giftees - and if your settings do not allow people to tag you in posts, you will not be notified that they’ve posted your gift.

Most of this was required for last year’s gift exchange as well, but we wanted to make it concise and in one post so everyone could have easy access to this information.

Finally, we wanted to remind everyone of our tagging requirements for this exchange, and wanted to remind everyone why we require all of this.

Tumblr doesn’t work half the time, and it can sometimes be frustrating to find what you’re looking for. One specific method doesn’t universally work for every post, so as tedious as it might seem this is the only way we can guarantee we can find everything, given all the broken tags and the shadow banned accounts and people not realizing their settings for their blogs might not allow their username to be searched for. Because of all of this, as well as courtesy warnings for some potentially triggering content, these are our tagging and posting requirements:

@ your giftee somewhere in the post

in the tags section, use the tag “madatobi gift exchange 2021″

in the tags section, tag any relevant triggers or content warnings

if posting art with potentially triggering content, use the “read more” function when posting and post the art under the cut

If any of this is confusing or unclear, please let us know! Our inbox and asks are always open, and we want to make this as smooth and as enjoyable of an event for everyone as possible ^^ Most of all we wish for people to have fun with the prompts they were given, and to create something they’re happy to give to someone else who also adores this pairing.
