MY WIFE IS A CHEESE
My Wife Is a Cheese is one of the most delightful poems from Ronald Percuoco’s inaugural book of poetry, The Sun Burned Bright And Hot. In this poem, a husband tells the story of how his wife melts herself over his eyes and nose and lips. He tells us that she is the cheese, and he is the baguette and that together they make a fantastic cheese sandwich. He states that the kind of cheese doesn’t matter Brie---- Gruyere --Camembert. His wife is sweet amorous and very, very savory.
The poem also takes us inside their personal bedroom where every Sunday they enjoy a beautiful picnic with wine and cheese. In his heart his wife writes the menu of the day of their life. And with love she calls him “Mon Cheri” and wishes him a “BON APPETIT”.
Drawing from his journey as a mental health counselor, Ronald Percuoco’s work is enriched with a profound understanding of human emotions. His experience working with diverse communities from New York to California, lends his poetry an inspiring blend of humor, introspection and empathy.
Percuoco is especially proud of this poem because he wrote it in French first as Ma Femme Est Un Fromage and later translated it into English.  Also, the last two stanzas rhyme in French. When he writes in French, Percuoco uses the French pen name, Jean Michel Robaire.
Ronald Percuoco writes with both humor and seriousness in a way that invites you to discover the beauty and the wonder in ordinary life. The Sun Burned Bright and Hot is more than a collection of poems. It is an exploration of all the experiences and emotions that make us human. Those that make us laugh. Those that make us cry. Those that make us smile and those that make us sigh.     Come for the journey and bring a loved one.

 RONNIE IN MUSICLAND
If any of you have ever read Alice in Wonderland, you will feel right at home in this poem by Ronald Percuoco. It is from his debut book of poetry The Sun Burned Bright and Hot. It tells the story of a young man who falls asleep listening to a Beethoven symphony after he has taken a rather large dose of LSD. He falls through the lines in the staff and almost gets hit in the head by bass and treble clefs.
He falls down a spiral staircase and hears Beethoven’s fifth symphony back-wards. Three E flats and a G instead of the reverse. Beethoven’s fifth became Beethoven’s ninth. The Marriage of Figaro became The Divorce of Figaro. “Light My Fire” smashed into “Eleanor Rigby”. The Rolling Stones slammed into Fred Flintstone.  Steppen-wolf morphed into Steppen-goat. All around him, he heard music being played. “Everywhere was a song and a celebration.” Symphonies, Concertos, Soul Music and Jazz. Orchestras, Rock Bands, Trios and Quartets. Artists sizzled, both those alive and dead. Heavenly angels wore tie-dyed robes. It was a looking glass Woodstock. “A mystic crystal revelation”
Then without warning, he was flying upwards and back. Figaro got remarried. Robbie Krieger was playing “Eleanor Rigby”. He was falling up the spiral staircase now.  Three G ‘s and an E flat. Bass and treble clefs nearly hit him in the head. He was flying faster and higher when he bumped his head on the roof of the oh so black quarter note.
Finally, he crawled through the lines of the staff when to his surprise he awoke with a laugh.  Beethoven’s symphony had just come to a close. Was it all real or did he just doze?
Ronnie in Musicland and the whole collection of Percuoco’s poems can
be found in The Sun Burned Bright and Hot. Now available on the author’s

Whiskers and Wisdom: The Feline Charm of The Sun Burned Bright and Hot
In a world where whiskers twitch and curiosity reigns, even the simplest creatures have tales to tell—tales that mirror our own lives in unexpected ways.
In The Sun Burned Bright and Hot, Ronald Percuoco invites you to discover a world where poetry isn't just a collection of words, but an experience that dances on the edge of humor and introspection. With his debut book, Percuoco reimagines poetry in a way that is accessible, relatable, and truly captivating. This isn’t poetry that you need to study; it's poetry that speaks directly to your soul.
A Cat's World Unveiled
Cat got your Tongue is a delightful poem of The Sun Burned Bright and Hot that captures the life of a cat, whiskers and all. It’s more than just a cute rhyme—it’s a witty exploration of the feline mind, from its playful side to its mysterious demeanor. Imagine a cat, lounging on a rug, claws ready to pounce on a bug. The poem paints this picture vividly, making you chuckle as you see the world through a cat’s eyes.
But there’s more than just fun in this feline tale. His work with the homeless and background in clinical psychology bring a unique depth to his verses, allowing readers to connect with his insights on life, freedom, and the human experience in The Sun Burned Bright and Hot.
"Trapped like a rabbit in its hutch," the cat reflects, evoking feelings of confinement we all have felt at some point in our lives. Percuoco's use of simple yet profound language allows readers to see beyond the playful surface, touching on themes of independence, solitude, and even rebellion.
Wit and Wisdom in Every Verse
Each poem in The Sun Burned Bright and Hot brings a unique blend of humor and thought-provoking commentary. One moment you’ll be smiling at a cat’s aloofness—"Acting aloof is what I do," it says. The next, you’ll be drawn into a reflection on youth, its fleeting nature, and the irony of wisdom often being wasted on the young.
Ronald Percuoco's journey from New York to California as a mental health counselor has deeply influenced his poetry, infusing it with a blend of humor, inspiration, and satire. Through his words, Percuoco captures not just the whimsical charm of a cat's world but also the complexities of the human mind, making his poetry both entertaining and thought-provoking.
