STORYBOARDS-SPIDERVERSE-ALBERTO MIELGO from alberto mielgo on Vimeo.
As I mentioned before, I was hired to direct the animation test for the new Spiderman film.
Here you can see my original storyboards and animatics that I produced for such a test. My main intention was to explore the language of comics and cinema and merge them together. We finished only 4 of this shots. And everyone ended up pretty exhausted!!! The shots that we produced with an incredible technical team were some of the most amazing thing Ive seen, and Im extremely proud of them and the team involved. With those shots we open a door to a pipeline and possibilities and help to estimate the overall film. I hope Sony will allow me to share the finished shots some time in the future . Im really happy to see that most of my shots on this early boards made it to the final film. Again I would like to congratulate the whole team that finished the final film for preserving the compositions and the original intention of these shots. It shows that everyone felt inspired and that they really cared for this particular vision.
As you can see the 3 versions are very different in tone. It was early and I was not too sure yet what would be the final mood of this film yet.
I work with pencil, photoshop, I do the comp in After FX and my edits in Premiere, with my own sounds and all bunch of crap in Audition... Did I ever say how much I love adobe?
Music on this obviously temp score just for the edit.
My pick temp track artist: v1: SON LUX v2: LEFTFIELD v3: MAXIMONO

Erste Group 'First Christmas' from Passion Animation Studios on Vimeo.
Directed by Kyra & Constantin 'First Christmas' is a love story told in beautiful animation with woodland characters spreading the message. We follow Henry the Hedgehog as he starts at a new school. His spikes make it hard for him to fit in but luckily he has a friend, Squirrel, looking out for him. The CGI animation has been given a truly unique tactile and fuzzy feel with Kyra & Constantin telling the story of love through the adorable characters.

INVISIBLE OREGON from Sam Forencich on Vimeo.
Created entirely with infrared converted cameras, Invisible Oregon is a study of light across time and space. As the sun rises over the State of Oregon infrared light travels across the earth revealing the subtleties of new growth and the dramatic intersection of sky and earth. Witness for the first time this diverse and interconnected landscape rendered from light we can't see with our own eyes.
Filmed and Produced By Sam Forencich samforencich.com/
Sound Design By Travis Forencich

Advising Producer: Michelle Lanier michellelanier.com/
Ever since my youthful days of “experimentation” I've often wondered about the nature of reality. Those of you that still believe in science understand the limitations of our perceptions, and it's no secret that many creatures exceed our abilities to interpret the world around us. The idea that we have to process the sensory data coming into our brains makes it seem like we are already a step removed from the real world.
So what exactly are we missing? What do animals experience that we can't, and how do our human perceptions vary from person to person? While this film does nothing to answer these questions, time-lapse and infrared photography do, in a metaphorical sort of way, extend our sensory abilities so we can imagine a world beyond ours. Ultimately I think this is what draws us to these forms, not to solve the mystery, but to flirt with it's boundaries.
Sam Forencich
Invisible Oregon was filmed with an infrared converted Nikon D750, and a Canon 5D MarkII
