I am a 25 year old woman, trying to make the best out of this wacko world we live in. I adore romance novels or any book with a love story in it. However, I am picky about what I binge read. So I made this blog. Here is to the romance and love stories that actually have a good plot and aren't just fluff and cheesy dialogue. Most of the content will include reviews of my favorite books & authors. Plus some fun stuff I find relevant. Happy Reading!

Romance Novel Pet Peeves
#4
Ok this is more of a romance novel buying pet peeve. If anyone else is way too addicted to their kindle or nook maybe you have a similar issue. When you decide to take a chance on a new author or trope and you liked it, but didn't love it. So you go to get a new book and all of your recommendations are that one author’s other books. Or a million books that have that same trope you just read. You’re frustrated and thinking ‘no something different!’, but literally every single recommendation falls into one of the two categories. Because apparently the 200 other books you have read are meaningless since you recently just read that new thing. Does this make sense?

The Hannah Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Shifter romance
Just finished this series and am twiddling my thumbs waiting for book 6. I really enjoyed this series as a feel good palate cleanser. I had been recently reading a lot of bully or bad boy romances (don’t ask me why) and needed a change. These books follow very hot alpha male wolf shifters, who are also cowboys (swoon). Each book follows a different male in the pack as they essentially find their mate and figure out how to make it work. Now I will warn you this book has a lot of sexy steamy scenes which were packed with toe curling deliciousness. BUT the story itself takes a back seat to the sex scenes. Normally I don’t like that, but for this specific series and with the way I was feeling it was exactly what I needed. Hence why this series only gets three stars. I thought the writing was pretty good, the dialogue was witty and fun, the story line and plot of each is enough to keep you interested, but overall its nothing too unique. So, if you just want to read about hot shifter cowboys who are moony eyed for their ladies and tend to be a little bit rough and kinky in the bedroom, then this is the series for you. If you want a book that makes you think, question and keeps you on the edge of your seat, then skip it.
Sample Scene: Normally I would put a sample scene after my review but these books are pretty fast paced. So, anything I would put here will inevitably have some pretty bad spoilers in them. So go read the summary, read the proper sample and let me know what you think!

Romance Novel Pet Peeves
#3
Don’t you hate it when a book starts out amazing. Like the chemistry, the character development, the tension, the dialogue it’s all there. You’re eating it up, loving every second and then the characters finally break through and get together. You’re screaming “YES, WOHOO, FINALLY!” and then it just kind of goes flat. It fizzles out like an old campfire and you’re sitting there wondering when the dialogue got so cheesy and why you ever shipped the couple to begin with? It ends like some cookie cutter fairytale and you are left annoyed and unsatisfied. No? just me?

Webtoons!
Ok for all my beautiful book nerds out there! Do you guys also like graphic novels/comics? And if so have you checked out Webtoon? Its an AMAZING App that has free comics written by independent artists and they are OH SO WONDERFUL! As I have said before I am a romance story junky so that’s all I really read on webtoon, but I figured I would share some of my faves (in case anyone was interested) 😋
1.) LORE OLYMPUS: If you have not got on this trend yet... well... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? It is an amazing, modern, retelling of Hades and Persephone’s love story and holy crap it’s fantastic! There are some heavy adult topics such as rape, sexual harassment and domestic abuse just so you are aware. The artwork is amazing, the story is adorable and the characters are hilarious.
2.) Miss Abbott and the Doctor: Super cute story, kind of a modern, gender bend Tarazan story but not really. Its set in the 1800s but with modern viewpoints on homosexuality, women’s rights, and racial equality. So so funny and lighthearted please check it out!
3.) Midnight Poppy Land: A little dark but oh so cute! Has gangsters and Mafias in it, blood, violence, and a cute young woman named Poppy. It’s relatively new, but so far I am loving it!
4.) Subzero: Dragons, arranged marriages, war, deception, treason and love. This comic has it all, the art is glorious and the story is intriguing. I am still trying to figure out who the bad guys are, and when our wonderful couple will stop fighting their feelings!
5.) Cursed Princess Club: This one has serious fairy tale vibes. It’s a little silly but hilarious and cute. With great messages on learning to love yourself and support one another when things are tough. It’s a very fun read.

OK Real quick since I was reviewing my favorite romantic comedy series. I am going to add in an Author Appreciation Post! This authors books sway to the paranormal romance side rather than romantic comedy. Each book filled with action, adventure, deep story plots and addictive characters. While also being filled with hilarious scenes and dialogue. So give it up for K.F. Breene!!! Holy guacamole this women is a godsend! If you were a City of Bones fan as a young adult or even now (whichever) you will LOVE her books. She blends amazing paranormal universes with toe curling love scenes. Oh and every female character is an absolute badass! No whiny damsels in distress here. Please Please Please check her out!

The Hannah Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Hi lovely followers! Ok sorry I haven't written a review in a while I was going through my bookshelf and saw this series. I remember loving the first one and took a look through seeing some pretty humorous scenes and dialogue. The reason for the 4 stars is that the plots are pretty straightforward, great read but not blow your socks off. These books are strictly contemporary romance and a good taste breaker. If you are like me and need to take a break from drama, have you on the edge of your seat kind of books every once in a while, this is the series for you. Small town romance with each book having a different matching; enemies to lovers, second chance and just plain old blue collar (not in that order). I really like the way Adriana Locke writes, she sets up her stories nicely and the steamy scenes are just so delicious. This is a very sweet, funny series that is sure to have you smiling and blushing with each page. Oh! also just a note the point of view switches from female protagonist to male protagonist every few chapters which I love, but I know some people have an aversion to so just keep that in mind :)
Sample Scene: Ok I am going to borrow from the 1st book because it was my favorite. Sienna and Walker are our main characters. The scene is in Sienna’s point of view. Sienna has just come in to Walker’s shop (he's a mechanic). She hit his truck with a baseball bat earlier that week and has come in to discuss it and apologize. They don’t really know each other just met after the aforementioned baseball bat insistent. However, their conversation keeps getting interrupted by customers, the third customer being Walker’s grandma.
She pauses in the middle of the room, giving me a quick once-over with the finesse of a professional. “I didn’t mean to walk in on the middle of anything,” she alludes, smiling at me. “Should I come back another time?”
“Stop it,” Walker hisses before I can respond. He crosses the room and plants a kiss on her cheek. “Did you bring me lunch? I heard you made fried chicken yesterday.”
“And you would’ve known that yesterday had you had your fanny in a pew at Holy Hills like you should’ve,” she sighs. “I wasn’t going to bring you any, then I prayed about it and thought maybe you had a good excuse.” She looks at me out of the corner of her eye, a grin tipping up the edge of her lips. “She’s awfully pretty, Walker, but she’s no excuse to miss out on Jesus.”
“Nana!”
Before I know what’s happening, my laughter fills the room. “You tell him Mrs. Gibson” I say, then cover my mouth with one hand.
🔆My favorite book of this series was probably the 1st or the 4th, the 1st just because I love the tension between Sienna and Walker, the 4th because Peck is adorable🔆
