Directly contrasting xigbar's 'i dont do soft and gentle' defense mechanism, that he repeats over and over. He acts like he's better than that or that affection is stupid so doesnt have to deal with his own emotions.. "aw youre too soft etc' feelings wont bother him if he just refuses to let them happen (he doesnt think he deserves it either) & they just end up like. Dogs growling at each other even tho they both really do enjoy each other..
