And I thought St. Bernard’s vision of the mystic lactation was a WTF subject!! (read about it here and here)

Art with Heart "Since the start of 2012, Child Life Specialist Janis Atty has been gathering ideas from her patients, asking them what they would like to see ... Suggestions ranged from the simple ‘animals’, ‘mermaids’, ‘balloons’, ‘dragons’ to the complex ‘two sunflowers and a rainbow watching TV together outside!’. New Zealand artist Vivien Masters gathered their ideas and transformed them into three highly detailed artworks on canvas, rendered in waterproof ink. The children are now bringing the works to life by painting the canvases." www.thedreamscapeproject.org

"Tou has been recording the last moments of canines at the Taoyuan Animal Shelter for two years. He has captured the images of some 400 dogs, most of which were pets abandoned by their owners. To him the work is distressing, but he's trying to spread a message of responsibility.  'I am a medium that through my photography, more people will be aware of this issue,' he says. 'I think that's my role.'"
We're all familiar with the arms of the angels animal shelter commercials.  Why do we, the public, tend to shy away from them?  "Oh, man, not this again!  Forget those animals, I'll go stuff my face with cheese balls until my show comes back on."  Taking the problem head-on instead of pretending it doesn't exist is the only way to resolve an issue.  Is this an issue?  Yes.  Is it only in Taiwan?  No.

I finally got around to watching Midnight in Paris.  If there's a speck of art history in your blood, watch it.  Watch it now. Or a crash of rhinoceroses will thunder from the heavens and trample some sense into you.

Here, son, you can go out in the world and do whatever you like.  Except you can't go there.  Actually, you can't do that.  No, you can't do that either.  Why can't you be grateful?  You're free!
Freedom isn't something you can order at Burger King and Have it Your Way with a side of fries.  "It comes as a surprise they will not let me travel, because you cannot give somebody freedom and say there are strings attached," [Ai Weiwei] said. Keep fighting the fight, Weiwei.  You'll be able to see your own exhibits here in the States before too long.
Right, Beijing?

Makes me wonder how Picasso would react to this if he were still kicking.  Anger?  Laughter?  A high-five? In all seriousness this is still defacement of museum property and that's something to shake a bull at.
L.H.O.O.Q. comes to mind but Duchamp didn't go out to the Louvre and stencil on a Mona Mustache. Now wouldn't that have caused a ruckus?

"Personally, I think this painting was in very bad taste and Murray was being gratuitous and vulgar. President Zuma deserves to be treated with dignity, which is his inalienable right as a human being. However, this does not give me the right to call for the banning of the painting or the victimisation of those who support him or the boycotting of newspapers who show the picture. This is wrong. We have an opportunity here to deepen our understanding of what it means to be free. Freedom is not for sissies or cry-babies."

Were dinosaurs already undergoing a long-term decline before an asteroid hit about 65.5 million years ago? New research shows that massive herbivores were, but carnivorous dinosaurs, like this Tyrannosaurus rex, and mid-sized herbivores were not.
