A demo for my students @teachingstudios in Figure Drawing and Painting on Wednesdays. First a detail drawing is completed, then outlines are transferred to a canvas. Students work in a monochromatic underpainting called a grisaille. Then a color study is done (left), and full color is put on in transparent and opaque layers, as you see to the right. http://ift.tt/2Be9fXu

Turnout was fantastic for “A Passion for Drawing” AR @boothgallery Saturday night. I had no idea we would get the response we did. We had 40 chairs set up in the front of the panel and there were easily more than twice that in attendance. We didn’t bring enough books!
