Oaken of the Winds is now available in print and Digital formats.

This is the first book of a brand new Fantasy/Adventure series “The Sword for the Sky.” It is a chance to spend the summer on a new adventure, exploring this new world, of interesting beings, living in a hostile world. Meet a race of rock dwelling philosophers, a race of hard working farmers, a shape shifting race of jungle dwellers, and a tribe of ancient spiritual warriors, as they fight to survive against the dominance of a race of warmongers, who worship the cruel and sadistic god of thunder and devastation.

A captivating story of family, friendship, spirituality, and self belief, all set against a background of greed, destruction, dominance and death.

One very important character who has been a joy to write, is woman in her early thirties, who has survived in the hostile landscape of Shodalt, avoiding the Summanu armies. She has gained a lethal reputation as a feral, savage, ghost like spirit, who will kill all that try to challenge her. Even Oaken will encounter her, and within that moment, hope he lives long enough to have one conversation with her. You will meet her soon on Monday June 23rd within the pages of Oaken of the Winds.

Print Proof.

I am delighted to see how amazing the proof printed copy of the book has turned out, it is exactly as I envisioned it. I now have the task of inspecting every aspect of the book, and agreeing to go to print for distribution on June 23rd, which will happen shortly. Oaken of the Winds, the first book of the Sword for the Sky series will be available to order from June 23rd 2025. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have created this wonderful story of new characters.

Today, VCP started Print Production in the test print phase. It is so exciting to wait and see the first actual printed book, and as soon as that is agreed, more books will be printed ready for release on June 23rd. As always it will take a little time to filter into all the book retail channels, but most of the wait is over, and a brand new fantasy adventure is about to begin.

I really hope you will join the Undine, Andalan, Leyarken and the other people as they start their fight for freedom, led by Oaken, the barer of a mystical sword given from the sky. As soon as the print is agreed, I will post an image of the finished book before the release date.

What do you do when one man, sat in a great seat of power backed by an army that has more fighters than all of your population, decides it is time you either bow to him, or face anhelation?

The Andalan people had no choice but to flee their homes, and race to safety, protected by the Undine, but even then, the Undine knew, that at some future point, they too would face the same fate.

There can be no understanding for rational men, who watch the actions of those  whose lust for greed and power is insatiable. Men of wisdom, will never understand the workings of the deranged mind of a man who has everything beyond his wildest dreams, and yet, like a self imposed  God, they demand everyone bends their knee to them, and worship them.

As I start a new series of stories, (Sword for the Sky) which will launch very shortly, behind the scenes, I am already at work on ending another, as I prepare the last book in the Curio Chronicle’s. The final story to complete the life of Abigail Jennifer Watson, will be with you in the autumn.

It saddens me that there is now a need to point out to readers which books have actually been written by a living human being, and not a machine. As a writer all of my social media walls are now littered with adverts for the latest AI program that can write a full book in less than a day. I love writing and creating stories, which for the last twenty years has been the joy in my day, creating imaginative stories to share with the small amount of followers I have. Time costs money, and so as we see this new machine learning technology embraced more and more into everything, slashing the cost of production, I have to ask, how much longer do all writers have before they are replaced by machines that scan everything on the net freely and unrestricted, and then use what they learn to replace us?

The sad truth is, most readers will not care, because machine written books will be cheaper.

The image below is taken from my next book, and shows that my work contains no “None Human” material, it is all authentic material written by a passionate human writer. What a shame that my books from now on, have to include this on the first page.

Cover Reveal:

Here is the proposed cover for the first book in the ‘Sword for the Sky’ series, which as you can see is titled ‘Oaken of the Winds.’ It may get a few minor tweaks during publishing, but nothing that will change it substantially as we make a few tailored adjustments to fit the final cover.

I hope you like it; we have used much better upgraded art programming and techniques for this one to ensure only the best quality. This will be a glossy cover, unlike the Curio’s and HTTK which were matt finished. Not long now, the book is a month away, so get ready for a brand new adventure. June 2025.

When the Summanu raid the annual celebration of the Undine, slaughtering the men and enslaving the women, the land of Undinalashka is sent into turmoil. When Oatin finds out his sister Yandalla has been taken, he is left with no choice, but to step into his dead father’s shadow, and finally fulfil his destiny. Lifting the Sword of the Winds of his father in the temple, he is given the name of Oaken fulfilling the ritual, and heads off after her. Teaming up with a smuggler as his guide, he races across the lands of Shodalt aiming to cut off the convoy of slavers, and prevent his sister from being sacrificed, gathering help along the way.

A powerful story of life, showing the good, the bad, and the absolute evil that can exist between cultures and races, and a wonderful reminder of humanity at its best. Robin John Morgan, who has become well known for his amazingly deep characters, has created a new world of fantasy adventure, that details how out of oppression, hope can rise up in a few, to unite the many.

For years Balalaran, leader of the Summanu raided all of the lands surrounding him, his armies slaughtered all in their way. Andalyn, leader of the Andalan, a line of ancient warrior scholars, united the lands around him, and joined forces with the Undine lead by Shengara to push the Summanu back. Andalyn took up the sword of the winds, led a raiding party into Salanula, where Shengara cut the head of Balalaran clean off in front of his young son Balathral, and ended years of war.

Shengara led his people out of the Leyarken Jungles, and travelled across the wide Heliospan Desert, to the new land of Undinalashka, a place to live isolated in peace.

Some wounds never heal, some anger smoulders slowly, and all hatred grows. Balathral spent years growing his new army, then stormed Andalan with overwhelming numbers, forcing the Andalan’s to flee into the desert. Andalyn was lost in the fight, leaving his wife Sarka and their ten year old son to save their race, aided by the Undine, saving his sword, and four books of the winds, and for years their lived in safety, free from harm, but Balathral was not finished.

The air was changing, a hand once again would take up the sword of legend, as foretold in the four books of the wind. It was time for Oatin to walk in the shadow of his father, as Nuada passed on the gifts of the sky, and he would choose a new name blessed by the four winds. Oaken of the Winds came fourth, the air was shifting, and once again, the Undine painted on their war faces.

The wind is coming, and he is not alone.
