This shot from the 2002 sci-fi show, “Firefly” [L], was heavily influenced by this shot from the 1998 anime, “Outlaw Star” [R].
Fun Fact: The theme song of Firefly was “The Ballad of Serenity,” by Joss Whedon. The theme song of Outlaw Star was “Through the Night,” by Masahiko Arimatsu.

This shot in Sergio Leone’s 1964 western drama, “A Fistful of Dollars” [L], has borrowed from this shot in Akira Kurosawa’s 1961 Japanese action film, “Yojimbo” [R].
Fun Fact: This one shot isn’t the only similarity between the two films. “A Fistful of Dollars” is actually regarded as an unofficial remake of Yojimbo. In the ‘60s, this resulted in Leone being sued by Yojimbo’s production company, Toho, before the film’s release.

These crowd shots from Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2012 drama, “The Master” [top and bottom R], are reminiscent of similar shots from John Huston’s 1980 war documentary, “Let There Be Light” [top and bottom L].
Fun Facts: “The Master” is nearly 3 hours long while “Let There Be Light” is just under an hour. The typical film length is somewhere around 1hr and 30mns.
