Dark Tourism: Learning Through Humans Worst Atrocities
Dark Tourism Destinations: Learning Through Human’s Worst Atrocities Photo credit Pexels-Andersonmartins Retratos People often ask me why I visit so many dark tourism destinations. There are two essential reasons:   To better understand and learn from humanity’s mistakes. To put things in perspective and be grateful for how good I have it.   While it can be a daunting and often harrowing…

Minimalist Travel
Minimalist Travel: While Less is More While Galivanting the Globe Photo credit Tommaso Pecchioli-Unsplash I remember when I was in Colombia I gave away a large luggage full of clothes and other assortments to my neighbor. I told her to give it to people who need it. She did. And it felt good, in more ways than one. Not only had I helped those more in need but I had taken a huge weight off my…

Hello there, I will be releasing Killer Sexbot graphic novel in ten volume comics at a time, at roughly 12 pages each.
Killer Sexbot is a contemporary Frankenstein-like story where a global sex toy corporation rushes to market the world's first intelligent humanoid robot for sexual gratification purposes. Of course, things do not go to plan and the Sexbot goes AWOL on a murderous rampage killing deviant men who try to take advantage of her.
She finds a friend in seasoned prostitute, Valerie Hollywell.  Sexbot saves her from abusive clients and her powerful pimp, the feared, Atticus Rex. It's not long before Sexbot has the criminal underworld, the entire police force and the global sex toy corporation out for her.  If you wish to support the production, enabling me to finish the complete graphic novel, you can do so at Patreon here.
Thank you and all the best,
Tim

How to Price Yourself as a Freelancer
How to Price Yourself as a Freelancer When I first started as a freelancer, like most newbies, I had no idea how to charge. As such, I turned to a close friend in advertising.   “$100 an hour,” he said.   “$100 an hour!? ” I replied incredulously, “I can’t ask for $100 an hour. I’m just starting out.“   “Okay, then. $75 an hour for now, then raise it to $100 inside a year,” he suggested.   I…

Sink or swim: A Sure-fire Way to Learn... Fast
Sink or swim: A Sure-fire Way to Learn… Fast
It can be scary AF, but the sink or swim approach is the best way to fast-track your location-independent career. Spoiler alert; you will swim  I distinctly remember a turning point in my life where I threw myself in the deep end, and it was indeed a matter of sink or swim. I had just finished two copywriting courses in Sydney, Australia, then took a three-month sabbatical in Cape Town, South…

Why you Should do an Internship Abroad
Why you Should do an Internship Abroad
One of the best decisions I ever made in my quest for location independence was undertaking a digital marketing and social media internship abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. The internship abroad not only gave me in-house copywriter experience, but it also provided valuable skills on how to market myself as a freelancer, and get used to living a and working abroad. Whether you are looking to…

How to get your first freelance job
How to get your first freelance job
How to get your first freelance job can be a catch 22; meaning, if someone is considering hiring you, they will most likely ask to see proof of your work, i.e. a portfolio piece. But how can you show a portfolio piece when you are yet to land a gig? One option, and how I got my first freelance gig and portfolio piece, was to offer to do a free job. Luckily, I had a mate who owned and ran an…
