Come strolling through People’s park in Downtown Shanghai, and you can witness people playing cards, exercising, and doing proteins. On weekend afternoons, part of the park is the scene of a rather unique event. Parents and relatives of unmarried adult children gather at an unofficial market hoping to find suitable partners for them.

5.            Suzhou and Zhujiajiao

With enough time you can organize a day trip out of the city, it can be reached via high-speed rail from Shanghai’s Hongqiao train station which is one of the largest and busiest transport hubs. It may seem a bit intimidating to navigate this station but once you navigate it is quite efficient to find your way.
