rkjonah:
@rkjunhyuk
is this rock bottom? he thinks to himself, as another passerby drops a thousand-won bill in his open guitar case. it isn’t because he’s busking in front of a kitschy-cute hip kid cafe in hongdae, he has no problem taking in a bit of extra change for his playing, it’s quick, it’s easy, it’s painless. it’s not painless, though, because his rock bottom is the fact that he has succumbed to the resigned temptation to play acoustic covers of pop and kpop songs just to get a few extra won tossed his way.
it’s less out of a need for money; he is privileged enough to see a steady income not just from his family but from his day job and his side hustle and his grad school grants. it’s more of a science experiment really, to see just how far the industry has fallen, to see just how far he is willing to fall to match it. he’s just finished playing and singing his acoustic adaptation of dynamite for the second time in an hour and has noted, begrudgingly, that he made more money in those three minutes than he did in the rest of the hour.
well, it is hongdae: at least the girls are cute.
he decides to stop for a break, balancing his guitar against the side of his chair and reaching for his half-consumed cappuccino, now vaguely lukewarm in the mug from sitting out for as long as it has, when he spots a young face peeking out from inside the cafe. he looks high school age from what jonah can discern, definitely no older than seventeen, which makes him wonder what he’s doing here on a saturday afternoon, and not out wreaking havoc with his friends. then he remembers this is not downtown atlanta, and not all high schoolers are as chaotic as he was (is) at that age.
jonah nods a greeting, offers a standard lopsided polite smile while reaching for his mug, “y’know it’s polite to tip the musician if you’re enjoying the show.”
junhyuk was a little surprised when he had arrived to help out his mom for the afternoon to find some strange busker standing in his usual performing spot. not that he supposed it mattered for the day as june hadn’t been planning on busking that afternoon, but still, it was strange. of course he had asked his mom if she knew who the guy performing outside was, but she had told him she didn’t really know herself but didn’t mind him being there.
but while he was interested he didn’t really have any time to investigate the matter himself before his mother was putting him to work in the back dealing with the washing up. not really the most exciting job in the world, but he supposed in the back he could still blast his own music and it wasn’t exactly taxing just to wash some stuff up. and it wasn’t long before he was just in the groove and had completely forgotten about the busker just outside the café, instead focusing on his own loud music coming from his phone, unable to stop himself from loudly singing along with the lyrics whenever his favourite songs came up.
it was only when he was done with that job and his mum let him have a fifteen minute break before assigning his next job did he remember the busker. and, looking out of the window, sure eough the guy was still there performing. so, junhyuk decided to go and have a quick look for himself, poking his head outside the door, leaning up against the doorframe, arms folded across his chest as he watched.
what he didn;t expect was the guy to actually address him.
“oh, so you paying my mum to use the space outside her café then?” he quickly countered, knowing full well that he wasn’t. that he probably hadn’t even asked permission to use the space he was currently occupying. “never said i was enjoying it, either,” he did have to add, just to be a brat about it.

rkchaerin:
she planned on seeing her mother today, it was the main reason chaerin found herself in a rush. waking up a little late, forgetting that she hadn’t taken a shower the night before. somehow she managed to press through, getting clean and dressed was her main priority. everything else could be done once she got to the cafe. if she got their early enough. and somehow she managed, her mother told where it would be and to call when she was close so she could come through the back. chaerin followed her mother’s incrustations to a t. then quick introductions were made before she headed to the bathroom.
several minutes later, chaerin stepped out the bathroom and headed over to where he mother and mrs. kim stood, a smile on her face. “sorry about that…i didn’t want to look horrible when he arrived.” her voice was soft and there was a shy smile but the woman only offered her something to drink and said her son would arrive soon. and when he was close, she thought of the best way to surprise him. it was settled pretty much after that, when his mother told him to come to the back, chaerin would be the one to open the door. she could hear someone on the other side and with that chaerin opened the door, her hand already in the air for a wave.
“hello! junhyuk-ah, nice to meet you.”
his mother was planning something. junhyuk was sure that she was, the only problem was that he couldn’t work out what. all he knew was that she was never in this good a mood about things, not to mention the weird instructions he had been giving to come to the cafe at this specific time and come in through the back instead of just barging in through the front door. it was all very suspicious behaviour and the teenager didn’t really know what to think of it all. it probably wasn’t going to be anything good, his mother had probably just made some good deal and needed his help with some things.
he wasn’t in the greatest mood and would much rather be back at home getting in  bit of extra sleep now it wasn’t a school day. but no, he had been requested to come and he knew the trouble he would be in if he didn’t show up. but he was still annoyed about being dragged out of bed so soon, having images of still being curled up under his debut flashing through his head as he reached the back door of the cafe and went to reach for the door handle, but much to his surprise, it was thrown open and an familiar ad yet unfamiliar voice greeted him. junhyuk blinked, trying to process the situation for a moment before he actually got a look at who the stranger who had just opened the door actually was. and the last person he expected to see was one of the idols he looked up to standing there.
“you... you’re...” he couldn’t get the words out, mouth flapping uselessly as his brain failed to process things. of course he knew who she was, he had her posters stuck up on his wall, he even had her photocard. the last thing he was expecting was for her to be standing there in his mother’s cafe actually knowing who he was.

rkkwseok:
“Just milk?” Wooseok gives his usually warm smile to the costumer, the one that always melts people. It hurts to smile as much as he does, but he had no choice but to do so, it’s basic manners to smile to your costumers. The costumer nods,” alright that’ll be just right up, grab a seat and I’ll fetch it for you” Wooseok says with a smile, thereafter turning around. Wooseok opened the refrigerator, pulled out the milk and poured it into a cup. He thereafter began walking in the direction of the costumer who had ordered it.
And just as he was walking, apparently he was focusing too much on the costumer and not where he was walking. Suddenly in a split second he had walked into someone and spilled milk on both them and himself. “Oh my” Wooseok for a while just stared at what had happened, and then he finally realized it. “Oh my god… I am so sorry”
@rkjunhyuk
junhyuk didn’t actually enjoy spending his time in cafe’s, despite the amount of time he was actually in them. most of the time it wasn’t his fault. his mother owed one so he was always forced into helping her out where he could. for free, of course. as it stood, junhyuk didn’t even really like hot drinks, especially not coffee or tea and he basically just lived off water and cola. the occasional bottle of juice. but it was his mother who loved going in cafe’s, more or less scouting out the competition as he was, yet again, dragged into one with her after his diving practice.
he wasn’t getting anything himself, just standing off to the side while his mother faffed around with ordering something to go. all he wanted was to go home already, huffing as he shifted his swim bag over his shoulder, ruffling up his slightly damp hair with his free hand. and then it happened, the employee managed to not pay any attention to where he was going and next thing june was aware his front was covered in milk. “oh nice one, dude,” he snapped, just wanting to go home more now, “look where you’re going.”

rksoleil:
There’s a sense of relief, small and brief, that they aren’t the only one who doesn’t immediately recognise who this busker is. Soleil has been trying to get better about it. Trying to get better about learning the names and faces of the other buskers around Hongdae other than themselves and a few other performers that they usually see. It’s easier said than done, as reclusive as they are, but maybe this is the first step they need.
“Perhaps Daeryong will know,” the dancer muses aloud. Their voice is quieter, now, more of a murmuring to than themself rather than to the young boy next to them. A hint of distraction.
They draw their phone from their pocket, eyes finally pulling away from the busker to instead watch the icons sliding across the device’s screen. They locate the camera app before lifting the phone again, recording a short clip of the rapper (a brief consideration of asking for permission tossed aside because they want to know).
Soleil could ask; could simply wait until the set was done and the performance was over to strike up conversation and ask. But then they wouldn’t be Soleil. Even speaking so many words to the unfamiliar face at their side was more than they would normally accomplish when out by themself.
The video is sent off with a single question, and a response comes only moments later.
A snap of their tongue behind their mask.
“Useless.”
Daeryong doesn’t know.
when you think about how many buskers there must be around hongdae every day of the week, it would be impossible to know every single one of them. sometimes people only showed up monthly, people were always going to be new putting on their first show, and not helped by the fact picking just one spot and being able to claim it every time was incredibly hard. junhyuk was just lucky that his mother did own the cafe she did and let him set up outside when he wanted to. having to find some other spot not already claimed by someone else would just be a total nightmare. and besides, his mother’s cafe got some good traffic as well so he would be foolish to risk moving somewhere else where things might end up being slower.
the teenager was quiet as he listened to the rest of the performance, maybe paying a little more attention to the flow and skill of the busker more than he should. but he couldn’t help it, every other rapper was competition to him, someone else he was going to have to beat and prove that he was better than them. he had to if he wanted to win the crown of the best rapper of the generation. but he supposed he could still appreciate talent and skill, something that this busker did appear to have a bit of.
clapping at the end of the performance with the rest of the crowd, june glanced to the older male still standing next to him. “could just ask if you really want to know who he is,” he offered as he suggestion, nodding his head towards the busker now he was done with his song. now was as good a chance as any or he would have to risk waiting again when he started up his next song.

donghyuck looked down at the book. his face was completely blank, void of any awareness or emotion. his body, however, was deeply saddened.      as soon as he heard the news his body slumped, like a child pouting. his shoulders fell to the ground and his back completely folded forward. he pursed his lips in thought. he walked as if he had a hunchback.      “well… do you know hwanju?” donghyuck asked. he knew not if the other had anything to even do with the book, but he was the first person hyuck had asked. he figured it was worth a shot to try and press something out of him. “i don’t think… it’s right to leave- i found this under the table.” he stood up straight and pointed to his seat. something about his arms’ lengths made him look like a child.
it was bad enough that he had just been called hwanju, upon looking at the notebook the other boy was holding he did have to scowl harder. did he look like the sort of person to own a small pink notebook? it was probably owned by a girl, and last time he checked he didn’t look like a girl. he almost wasn’t sure if he should be offended by this or not.
“no, i don’t,” he responded shortly, quite sure that he didn’t know a hwanju or anyone who owned a notebook like the one the boy was holding. it seemed as though the notebook had just been accidentally left, ad while he should probably help look for the owner, he really couldn’t be bothered right now. “just give it here,” he offered, holding out his hand, “my mum owns the place, i can hand it in for lost property and the owner might come back for it.”

. why you gotta be so rude?
siyeonrk:
this guy just isn’t any fun. there’s no urgency in his voice over something embarrassing she might’ve seen, or a hopeful twinkle in his eyes that she won’t spill all his secrets to the probably zero mutual friends they have. there’s no play in the way he scowls at her, just pure annoyance and it’s growing so boring not getting her way. it’s all for amusement and if she’s not getting any then what’s the point? honestly, she’s surprised he hadn’t bolted the moment he got his notebook back. what is he getting out of continuing to talk to her?
“yeah, you say that now. but I didn’t know that when I found it, genius.” she’s one to talk. “anyway, if you ever were to leave it again, at least I’d know this time who’s it is, so I wouldn’t have to look inside to find out.” she grins, just to irritate him a little more. she hates that it feels right to have people think poorly of her — that she’s rude and annoying, that she’s what she’s always been lead to believe she is.
“sue a girl for being curious. I’m sure if it it were me who’d left my notebook behind, you’d be reading it, too.” she’s not sure, but it rolls off her tongue before she can stop it. “anyway, it’s kind of boring if that’s all that’s in there — wasn’t worth peeking.” she clicks her tongue. “also, don’t judge this place on me alone. the food and the service is good, even if I am kind of nosy and annoying. it’s pretty quiet sometimes, too, if you need to go over any of those school notes, or whatever.”
junhyuk didn’t really know why he was bothering with this conversation anymore, he had his notebook back in his hands so he should probably go and head home again instead of wasting even more or his time on this annoying older female. but that was the point, she was starting to annoy him now and he was not exactly the bigger person in the situation and didn’t really want to walk away until he had made his point. maybe save the next person who happened to leave their notebook alone around her from going through the same thing.
“why would anyone just leave their belongings behind on purpose?” that didn’t even make any sense, she was just talking complete rubbish at this point. “but trust me, i have no plans of leaving it behind again.” not after this, he didn’t want someone else poking their nose into his business and taking a look at what was written inside. maybe he should get a lock for his notebook just so someone couldn’t take a peek if he did happen to forget it and leave it behind in the future.
he did open his mouth to response that he wouldn’t do that, but june couldn’t even bring himself to lie, simply making a small huff as he closed his mouth again. “don’t know what else you expect me to be writing in there. maybe all my deepest and darkest secrets?” if it were a notebook filled with that, he wouldn’t ever take it out of the house and it would simply stay in his bedroom. no one actually walked around with notebooks like that with them. “but i wasn’t going to stop coming here just because of you,” he did have to add with a roll of his eyes, “don’t think so big of yourself.”

@rkjunhyuk is performing (for the charisma event!)
Tumblr media
he leaned down to see what it was. what he had kicked out from under his chair, with his own bag, seemed to be a diary. it was pink, small, and very alone. his brows furrowed. his fingers unwillingly fluttered to the hardcover.      in a large, red marker, the first page wrote, ‘DO NOT READ ME! if found please return to hwanju.’      donghyuck pressed his lips together. his fingers gripped the bottom corner of the page. he lifted it. then, as if all will was lost, he dropped it. it fluttered down so gently. he swallowed and looked around the cafe.      he looked for a little girl, maybe five at most, to see if he could spot who it belonged to. there was no one in sight, so, he stood.      he tapped on the shoulder of the person closest to his own table.      “hey, are you hwanju? i think i have your book.”
his mother’s cafe in hongdae was practically a second home to junhyuk. he knew every inch of the place, the best place to sit, the best combination of drink and cake to get. though, most of the time he was here he wasn’t actually a customer, being forced into helping out in the back or cleaning some tables when it got busy.
he had just gotten done with cleaning some tables, huffing as he fell into an empty seat just for a sit down for a couple of minutes. and it wasn’t like he couldn’t get away with it, he wasn’t dressed as an employee so it wouldn’t look like he was slacking off or anything. though his rest was interrupted by someone tapping his shoulder. june turned his head, frowning just a little at the stranger, “last time i checked, that wasn’t my name, no.”

❝ makings of a star,
rkxlia:
sometimes, she wishes she did not agree with the compromise her father put her into. while lia has great respect for service workers, this is not exactly the kind of job she wishes to have at this point in her life or ever. she has such great prospects and an abundant future before her and she’d rather live her every day life in pursuit of making that happen. standing behind a counter, filling up shelves, and doing inventories is definitely not included in such plans. if anything, the time she spends here is a hindrance to the achievement of her dreams. she could have been working on her art projects now yet instead, here she is.
but despite their differences and hefty arguments, julia still values the relationship she has with her family. she worries that if she brings up the desire to stop doing shifts at the store, her parents might react in a way that will be completely detrimental to their family. she can’t have that; can’t bring another cause of disappointment anymore than she already has.
lia breathes out a sigh of relief, a small smile tugging her lips upwards. “oh, that’s good. i know i have the tendency to overstep my boundaries so it’s nice to know that i didn’t in this case.” she really ought to start presenting herself better. she couldn’t always just let her curiosity get the better of her, lest she begins meeting people who are easily aggravated. she wouldn’t ever dream of seeing herself in an altercation. “yeah. honestly, lucky them. i would rather be sitting in one of my classes than be here.” alas, she has an obligation to fulfill. the silver lining is that she wouldn’t have to go tomorrow so it’s all good. “sure!” she chirps, smiling at him before proceeding to run his items through the scanner.
if it ever came to the point where he had to pick up a part-time job after school, he didn’t really want to work in some convenience store like this. he was pretty sure it would end up being far too boring. his brain needed something interesting to do otherwise he was pretty sure he would end up falling asleep behind the counter. and he was pretty sure it was going to be the same with any job a teenager could get just to make a bit of pocket change. june was convinced he wasn’t cut out for regular old work, which was why he was pretty desperate to make a career out of his love of performing a rapping so he wouldn’t have to ever worry about. and, thankfully, he still had some time before he had to worry about getting a job as he was still only fifteen.
“i don’t mind it,” he just said again with a small shift of his shoulders. she hadn’t really done anything that bad, just asked if he rapped and tried to start a conversation. and he supposed he could understand why, it was not like there was anyone else around to talk to and the place looked pretty dead and rather boring. june did almost feel a little bad that she was having to work right now, but guessed someone had to.
it was not surprising in the slightest to hear that she would rather be in a class than working. “why aren’t you in class?” he did have to wonder himself, taking his turn to ask her questions. and he supposed she could ask the same of him as he hardly looked old enough to be out of high school and not having to worry about classes anymore. though he did wish he was, not being a fan of school in the slightest and enjoying every moment he was out of the classroom not having to do his homework.

out of the BLUE. ‧₊˚✧
syoungrk:
✧∘*  a charisma starter for @rkjunhyuk
sooyoung often had wished that she had an older sibling growing up. someone to look out for her, to give her snippets of advice here and there. someone who could protect her from all of the evil in the world, as if they could take on such a thing all on their own. but alas, she had grown up an only child. the only little sibling she has to look out for is her younger cousin, a girl who’s grown up far too quickly for sooyoung to keep up with, and yet not soon enough.
her cousin’s parents are the protective type, bordering on completely overboard. their daughter is fifteen, no longer a child, and yet they still ask sooyoung to babysit her and pick her up from school if she has the chance. it’s a good thing that sooyoung likes this cousin, or else she might have told her aunt and uncle to let their teenaged daughter finally grow up. for now, though, she consents to playing babysitter. her cousin knows well enough that sooyoung is here to be more of a friend than a guardian anyways.
except she can’t find her.
the young woman approaches another student, careful in her approach not to come off as invasive or weird. she’s not exactly worried about her cousin, figuring she’s staying behind with a teacher or still chatting in the building with friends, but her aunt and uncle will surely freak out if their precious baby isn’t home within nineteen and a half minutes of school letting out.
“excuse me,” she asks a boy who looks to be around the same age as her cousin, “do you know a lee jinah? i’m her cousin. i’m supposed to meet her here.”
june didn’t like school, it was nothing more than a pain in the ass for him. learning all that information he was never going to use in the future was just a huge waste of his time and he was not afraid to let his teachers know that, either. unfortunately for him, he didn’t really get much of a choice in the matter. he was still a minor and his parents were not going to let him drop out of school even if he really really wanted to.
it was just the same old stuff, another long and boring day of school and now it was out he didn’t want to waste a moment longer stuck inside. junhyuk was quick to grab his stuff from his locker and basically run right out of the building before any teachers had any ideas of holding him back for whatever reason. maybe to talk about his terrible grades or tell him off for spending most of his classes sat at his desk daydreaming and pretending he was anywhere else. or maybe they had noticed instead of notes, his notebook was mostly filled with aimless doodles and scribbles and the occasional rap lyric.
the teenager couldn’t help the large sucked in breath he took when he finally hopped down the school steps. it was a breath of freedom. and he had a little while before his mother was expecting him around at her cafe to help out a little bit. then it was off to the leisure centre for diving practice and then he could finally go home.
but just as he was about to set off, some stranger stopped him and started asking if he knew someone called jinah. “i think she’s in my class,” he admitted after a moment to think about it, “but i don’t know where she is right now.”

❝ makings of a star,
rkxlia:
there are moments when she knows that she absolutely needs to shut up. her family never tire of telling her that she’s too curious, too brave, too unabashed that she would not hesitate to talk to someone as soon as she finds something intriguing about them. julia doesn’t really know why she lives that way. was it passed down through genetics? her parents does not seem to think so, if the persistent shake of their heads and the apologies that would slip out of their lips every time she latches on to someone is any indication.
perhaps she needs to have a better grasp of the concept of space. give herself a re-education on understanding non verbal cues. that might be the only way she could escape falling into situations like this.
“oh, i’m really sorry.” she bows, laughing a little as she takes a few respectable steps backward. she’s not particularly embarrassed, because truth be told, she’s used to it. “it really is that quiet. this is right in the middle of dead hours with only a few people coming in and out. often, people just come in to peek without buying anything. sometimes, they just take cover from the heat.’ she shrugs, as if that explains exactly why she has nothing to do. she truly is bored though, and this is better than having to count down the hours before her shift ends. “i’m really sorry if this is making you uncomfortable, though. i’ll walk up the counter now and i guess i’ll see you there when you’re done.” with one last bow, she finds her usual spot.
whatever ended up happening with his future, junhyuk did not want to end up working in a shop like this. it just seemed incredibly boring and he was quite sure he would not be able to survive doing some mundane job as this, stocking shelves for the rest of his life. while he knew there was a chance his whole plan of being some huge rap star and making it big in the idol world was not going to work out no matter how much effort he put into it, so he knew he might have to get a boring job. but working in a convenience store just wasn’t it.
june did have to laugh just a little at how the employee responded to his words, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck with a free hand as he smiled. “you don’t need to say sorry or anything, i was mostly joking,” while he wasn’t the biggest fan of being bothered, he didn’t really mind.
taking a quick look around and seeing that he was the only customer in here at the moment, he could agree that it was a dead hour. “i guess everyone is working or at school,” like he should be, he supposed, but he was a special case and had permission. and while he hadn’t gotten permission to go grab a snack from the shop before practice, it wasn’t going to hurt anyone. just so long as he showed up poolside on time and then made it back to school for the rest of his classes on time, then no one was going to care. “but i’m not uncomfortable or anything,” he did have to add just so she knew, somewhat following her back to the counter and dumping his chips and cola can on it. “but yeah, this is it, thanks.”

There’s a voice beside them and, for a moment, Soleil isn’t sure where it’s directed. In fact, it takes a few long seconds for them to remember that there’s very few people who have actually stopped to listen, and that they’re the only one standing close enough to be even a little likely to hear what is being said.
(It occurs to them, as well, that perhaps there’s no intended listener, and the other spectator is simply speaking out loud to express their awe of the performer.)
“They do,” the dancer says simply, a shaky hand reaching to adjust their mask before it ends up buried back into their pocket again. A pair of nervous tics. A third manifests with the chewing of their lips, hidden away between words. “I do not recognise them, however.”
That wasn’t to say this rapper was someone new to the scene, or new to busking in Hongdae in general. This wasn’t a time that Soleil would normally be out and about by themself, after all, and perhaps it has always simply been a matter of no overlapping schedules. Or maybe they’re a rapper who doesn’t normally busk in Hongdae, but performs elsewhere. Or even–
An audible (gentle) click as Soleil clenches their teeth together to bring their escaping train of thought to a screeching halt.
A forced swallow to remove a lump from their throat.
“Do you?”
sometimes it was useful to actually pay attention to these different buskers, take note of them. maybe you could end up picking up something new to try yourself. he did have to remember that it was watching a busker which had gotten him into wanting to rap for himself and if he had just ignored them that day then he probably would have never taken an interest in rapping. his only interest and future plans would have ended up being around diving. most likely, anyway. he might have come across music later and decided to take an interest in it, but then he would have lost out on extra years of practice he already had under his belt.
june didn’t pay much attention to the other person standing behind him as he continued to listen, head bopping along just a little with the beat and rhythm of the song. no doubt this busker had the talent that much was clear.
but then he heard a voice again, the stranger beside him asking him a question about the identity of the busker. june did have to frown for a moment, glancing back at where the guy was performing for just a moment, studying his face and seeing if any recollection popped up. but nothing. “no,” he settled on after a moment with a small shrug of his shoulder, “but i don’t know everyone who busks around here. i might have just missed them in the past.” it was incredibly possible with the amount of people who actually busked around hongdae. it was almost impossible to keep track of them all of the time.

❝ makings of a star,
rkxlia:
her eyebrows rose in appraisal, nodding her head slowly in a somewhat impressed manner. “oh, that’s cool. he’s an amazing artist.” while her typical music tastes tend to stray away from heavy hip hop, she would be hard pressed not to know who bewhy is. after all, he was the one of a kind type of talent whose skill is inimitable. as an aspiring songwriter, it benefits her too whenever she studies the flow and rhythm of his words.
pursing her lips, she puts the last of the snacks on the aisle. making very little changes to the display as she sees fit all while thinking if she should let her curiosity run its full course. in the end, her subconscious won as it seems to always do. when it comes to her thoughts, she tends to have very little control.
“do you rap?” the words spilled from her lips as she bends down to pick up the empty box. in seoul, there never seems to be a shortage of musically inclined people. even more so in this area of the city, where artists of different kinds mill the busking streets of hongdae every now and again. she herself being one of these people. “i’m sorry for being so intrusive.” she apologizes with a small bow of her head to maintain a sense of professionalism. is it normal for convenience store employees to be so upfront? perhaps not. “if you’re ready, i can check out your stuff.” she says, pointing at his purchases.
june made a small noise of agreement at that comment, slightly nodding his head. there was a reason that bewhy was one of the artists he happened to look up to and wanted to follow in the footsteps of. always listening to his music and using the songs for inspiration when he had an itch to write his own lyrics. the dream really would be to one way get the chance to collaborate on something, but no doubt that dream was just a little way off. june had to worry about getting signed and making a start first.
but he did think that was the end of the conversation with the employee, turning his attention back to the snacks to decide what he wanted. this really was the hardest part, especially as he was on a timer here and didn’t have much time before he was supposed to be down the street in his swimming trunks.
then came another question, junhyuk blinking with surprise as he glanced back to the worker again. “uh, yeah, i do,” and he didn’t mind admitting it, either. though eventually he did manage to decide on what snack he wanted, grabbing a packet of shrimp chips to go with his cola. not the most healthy of things, but he didn’t really care about healthy at the moment (even if he was sure his coach was going to grill into him for it as a competition was coming up, after all.) and then the employee was talking again and offering to ring him up, though first june did have to wonder something, “is it really that quiet that you have nothing else to do before follow me around?” though he was still saying it with a friendly tone of voice, not wanting to seem like he was being disrespectful.
