// DBH fandom critical, fandom racism

honestly when I see RK900 and reed stans making up the majority of the fandom, it really seems like they're talking about an entirely different game. A buddy-cop game that isn't about the fight for android rights, a game that isn't based on the civil rights movement of the 60s (even if terribly based on it) nor even a game that actually shows the police and the military taking part in prejudice and mercilessly killing androids.

I shouldn't be surprised but the fandom racism in DBH is gross.

#this is a serious post and i absolutely agree with it #and i’ve made a lot of my own posts #or additions in the tags #about how fucked the prevalence of reed900 in this fandom is #and the widespread fandom racism and the erasure of the only poc protagonist #but as a lighthearted side note here #… you guys are going for reed900 when rk1k is RIGHT THERE?!!#it’s like girl meets boy except it’s #beautiful poc revolutionary #meets man who has been forced to function as part of the corrupt justice system #and enables him to exercise agency of his own #so that together the two of them can actively dismantle the system #and with the exception of explicit romance between them #all of that happens LITERALLY IN CANON #as opposed to you know #widely accepted headcanons that have little to no basis in the source material #like… cmon #markus and connor are either enemies that expose the flaws of the capitalist regime #with excellent sexual tension on the side #OR they’re soulmate star-crossed revolutionaries leaning on each other while they change the world #reed900 is. just copaganda but one of them is an ANDROID cop woah #and they’re both white because ofc they are #when the SEXY MF POC CHARACTER IS BEING SEXY RIGHT THERE #it amazes me #anyway. reed900 sucks and rk1k fucks goodnight 💕
