To make a banana smoothie, you will need the following ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup of milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/2 cup of yogurt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon of honey or any other sweetener (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)
Instructions:
1. Peel the bananas and break them into smaller chunks. If you prefer a colder smoothie, you can freeze the bananas beforehand or add some ice cubes later.
2. Place the banana chunks into a blender.
3. Add 1 cup of milk to the blender. You can use dairy milk or any plant-based milk like almond milk or oat milk.
4. If desired, add 1/2 cup of yogurt to the blender. This will give your smoothie a creamier texture.
5. For added sweetness, you can include 1 tablespoon of honey or any other sweetener of your choice. If you prefer a more natural sweetness, you can skip this step.
6. If you like the flavor of vanilla, add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the blender.
7. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth and creamy. If you want a thicker smoothie, you can add more bananas or reduce the amount of milk.
8. Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or thickness according to your preference. You can add more honey/sweetener or milk to achieve the desired taste and consistency.
9. If you want a colder smoothie, you can add a few ice cubes to the blender and blend for a few more seconds until they are fully incorporated.
10. Once the smoothie is ready, pour it into glasses and serve immediately. You can also garnish it with a slice of banana or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
Enjoy your homemade banana smoothie!
