Because I've seen too much of this already this morning, Lando wasn't talking about Max when he said it was luck. He was talking about the decision to stay out/come in for new tyres before the red flag. Those who stayed out, got lucky and got a free stop. That's what he meant

FIA penalty system is a joke because for them:

saying "fuck" = 10.000 € fine

changing the tyre pressure before the race = 5.000 € fine

Say what you will about winners and losers of the 2024 São Paulo GP, the ones who had it the hardest were the mechanics and engineers. They worked injured, sleepless, burnt out. They worked after nearly a month away from family. They worked without time to eat or rest. First to the track and last to leave. And they’re not flying home in private jets

Tbh I’m truly upset with the FIA atm. That they showed with yesterday’s race that drivers and marshals lives are less important to them than when a driver says Fuck in a press conference. I just can’t wrap my head around it. In what world is that okay??!

In the name of safety, a driving reprimand and a €5k fine isn’t the right outcome in my opinion, for the start infringement.

Especially when you consider the fact that there were marshals and recovery vehicles on track trying to recover Stroll’s car. A car that had spun off on the formation lap, and could just have easily been joined by another.

I understand there was no prior precedent to this type of incident but, I was expecting at the very least, a time penalty plus penalty points, along with some sort of team fine, for all the drivers who breached the rules.

The drivers should be aware of the starting procedures, including aborted starts because even though they are rare, they do happen, and when they happen it’s usually because of a stranded car or debris, which are potential hazards, especially with marshals around.

the mechanics having to wake up since 4:30am... multiple red flagged cars to fix in 3 and a half hours. at the end of a TRIPLE header where you haven't been home in almost a month, just constant travelling and high pressure work. god I do not envy them and the invisible labour that makes this sport run
