I was watching the latest Drawfee drawclass with Julia teaching background interiors, and I had the idea that a modern day college witch would use a Crock Pot as a cauldron. Did a super quick sketch to get it out of my brain so I can do other things.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure I know people who have used a slow cooker as a cauldron...

Someone (me) got motivated to finish this huge sketchbook tonight! Used a variety of reference photos from packs I've gotten around the internet.

I like quite a few of these, so there may be some finished pieces... eventually. I'm still arting a bit slow in general.

Sketchbook pages from yesterday (Jan. 8, 2025). The first I've really sketched so far this year.

The holidays pretty much steamrolled me, then I had my wisdom teeth pulled on Tuesday, so I'm feeling really low-energy right now. I'm hoping that once my routine is more or less back on track now that we're post-holiday/post-teeth removal I'll start to feel a bit more energetic.

I feel like I can show this off now.

My local cat cafe does a fundraiser every year, where they get artists of any level volunteer to draw pet portraits for people (the people pay for the portraits, but the artists do it for free to help the fundraiser for the cafe).

This was the first year that I volunteered for the event, and I got to do a memorial portrait of Olive Press.

I adopted 3 of my 4 cats from Constellation Cat Cafe, so I feel pretty good about giving my time and talent for this event.

Sketches of Rita from this evening. I hated every face I drew until I did the one on the bottom. Some days you just struggle, and that's okay. Frustrating, but okay.
