I was a lil hesitant to post this here, but I realise I couldn't send this to em' as a submission!

During their travel to their destination, Krista listened while grinning and giggling at Whodini’s storytelling of Rayman’s adventures forgetting the heavy feeling. Now this was nice, having someone else being optimistic as her to lighten the mood.  

Though the sound of “one-ups” and extra chances did sound interesting but she couldn’t help but feel a little envious. If only she had one of those back in her childhood, they would have been a big help but the brunette kept giggling and smiling as the older limbless carried on.

If this keeps up they’ll eventually forget about the weird feelings and get to the Council with high spirits in no time.  It’s just a bad feeling, it’ll have to go away eventually.

Krista flinched at the horrific sound as her laughs and smile drops along with her walking and the heavy heart came back in full swing with a dose of dread silencing her for a minute. She recognises that kind of screech from anywhere, it’s unmistakable.  “A nightmare.. and a very nasty sounding one too.” she responded as she looks back at Whodini some how despite the feeling worsening she brings back the smile and started to prim with some confidence.

“No need to worry! We’ll figure something out, but first we’ll have to warn the Council! So they can prepare for the worst!”

Making her way to the council, Krista couldn’t shake the anxiety that came out of nowhere as she ran faster hoping to outrun it. 

“Maybe running for a bit would make the feeling go away..” “Just what is going on? Is the Glade in danger again?” All thoughts came to abrupt halt as she nearly collided with Magigi a fellow limbless sporting an entire of a magician.  “Oh, hi! I didn’t see you there, sorry!” She quipped back. Great more people to meet, maybe talking to him will help starting with answering his questions with her usual smile and her hat tipping. 

“I’m Krista and well I wouldn’t exactly I’m new since I’ve been here in the Glade for a while now and it’s a really long story-” 

Wait did he just say headed to the council? How did he know she was going there? “Well.. yeah I’m heading there mostly see just to see if my Dad’s okay. He went there around an hour ago.” The attempt to shoo away the anxiety dropped as Magigi’s cheery tone did. She was not liking this one bit.

“Feel it too.. the weird feeling? You felt the same thing as well?” Yep, defiantly not liking this one bit and the heavy weight in her heart just gotten worse and worse just mentioning it.  “I-I’M sure it’s nothing too bad maybe it’s the bad weather coming, maybe? Ha, ha! ” She stammered waving her hand keeping the smile of her face and averting her gaze a bit, it wouldn’t hurt having a little bit of optimism? Right? “You said you’re heading to the council too, let’s go together. Come on, we can’t keep them and Dad waiting~!” Looking back at him she gestures forward. After all maybe it’s nothing too serious and everything will be okay, right?

The Magician would give a deep bow in gleeful respect. Meeting people always filled him with joy, no matter what was going on! He had to keep positive just like his new friend here!

“Aha! Well it’s wonderful to meet you then, Krista!”

“Name’s Whodini! The local magician of the Glade of Dreams~! ..-!! Ah yes! Of course, of course! The weird feeling. You can lead the way, you seem to know where you’re going! I can tell you the many tales on our journey to the council!!!”

As they rushed to the Fairy Council, back was the whimsical tune of the lovable mage. He would switch between running and skipping, disappeared into his top hat and hopped forward, spun about while swinging his floating hands around. Going on and on, he gave Krista a dramatic retelling of events long ago. Maybe this would help lighten the mood somewhat? Or not. How could he be so jolly at a time like this anyways? Who knows.

“I’ve assisted our hero RAYMAN in his attempts to defeat the EEEEEEEEEEVIL Mister Dark! Sending him on his way to a maaaaagical plane where he’s able to collect little trinkets called ‘one-ups’ to get an extra chance! A great way to keep trying and never give up wouldn’t you say?“

And there he goes again, burying the feeling of worry with each step. Closer and closer came their destination. Things are unsure right now, but as long as it’s nothing too bad, he can afford to be as carefree as he wants to keep spirits up! After all, things can’t possibly be terrible. Right?

                                Oh, how wrong he was…

Whodini skidded to a halt and shut his trap. They weren’t far off from the council, but still had a ways to go on their path. The mage looked to Krista, his lighthearted tone, once again gone.

“…?!” After finishing an errand for a teensy family, Krista felt a faint heavy feeling in her heart and an urge to go somewhere. “That’s odd.. why do I feel so worried all of a sudden? Maybe I should see the council and Dad to see if something’s wrong..” And so she did.

After pondering over what to do for what felt like hours, Whodini was already on a trek himself toward the council. Grip tightening on his wand, he tapped his index finger on it constantly. A nervous tick he couldn’t help, especially now that something just… didn’t feel right. And instead of fading away after a while, it only grew. And grew.

And grew.

Quickening his pace, the Magician was well on his way down the path to the council. He had to tell them, they had to feel it too! What could possibly be going on this time? He had no idea, but the mage’s thoughts were interrupted once he seemed to almost bump into Krista.

“Oh! Excuse me!!!” Whodini exclaimed as he jumped in surprise. It took him a moment to realize he had never met this limbless before.

“Ah… I… don’t think I’ve ever seen you ‘round these parts! Where ya from? You new? What’ yer name?” The mage would continue asking a barrage of questions when he remembered. Right. The bad feeling.

“Oh-… Um… Headed towards the council, eh? Aha… Going there myself… ” Nervously scratching his head with the bulb of the wand, he sighed. After what felt like a long while, he sighed, and the trademark musical tone completely dropped

You feel it too, don’t you?” He was almost sure she had the same reason to go there as he did.
