Drawing Richonne being horny continues to be a fun and effective mental health bandaid. But, as I try to get my brain and my life back into some kind of order (whilst simultaneously living through *gestures at everything*) I am gradually relying more on other bandaids as well. Which in general is good for my mental health, even though it does mean I post less often.

Today's piece was originally going to be Richonne making out in a pretty outdoor area of Portland, during a family trip as they work to bring the world back together. But then I remembered... backgrounds. So instead, you get Richonne making out in their hotel room during said family trip. 👍

When mistletoe and tinsel glow paint a Yuletide Valentine....

A little late… but I finally finished.  Hope this new year keeps us strong and unstoppable.

Sometime between season 3 and season 4.

A time when the night was merry and everybody was full of holiday cheer, thanks to Michonne and Darryl hitting the jackpot at a liquor store during a run.

A tipsy Maggie observes an equally tipsy Michonne walking Rick out so he can relieve Sasha of guard duty at the watchtower.    With a mischievous thought and hoping she plans this right, Maggie waits--a couple more steps–-and… Bingo!

“HEY”!!

Maggie grins as Michonne and Rick stop and turn to look at her.

“YA’LL ARE STANDING UNDER THE MISTLETOE”!

Happy New Year! Curious what do you think Carl wrote in his letter to Michonne?

Happy New Year! This question. 😭 I love it. I’ve always so badly wanted to know what was in Carl’s letter to Michonne. I think Carl told Michonne how grateful he was to have her in his life and what a game-changer she was for their group and most of all their Grimes family. How she made their family better and how Rick and Judith will still really need her going forward. I think he definitely reiterated that she’s his best friend and also expressed the ways in which she’s a mother to him too. I loved that Carl cared to see and know Michonne as a person and not just an indestructible samurai, so I like to think that his letter aimed to remind Michonne that it’s okay to lean on Rick and others while she processes her own feelings and grief upon losing him. Similar to what he told her in his final episode, I feel like he wanted to encourage her not to carry the sadness or hard memories, especially not alone. 

The letters we did hear showed he also wanted to pass down hope for the future and a call to end this Negan war peacefully with their humanity intact, so I think he expressed that to Michonne too, and how she can have a big impact in bringing about the necessary change in their communities. With the playfulness of their relationship, I feel like somewhere in there he might’ve wrote about some little teasing inside joke or fond lighthearted memory, maybe about their old candy bar bets or something, since he knows Michonne is a huge reason why he still got to experience joy and laughter in this world. And I can see him telling her that he called it all that time ago - she really is one of them. Then I like to think Carl would end the letter by thanking her for seeing him and being there for him, telling her he loves her, and also saying something about how he hopes Michonne can find peace with knowing that he and Andre will be together somewhere. 🤍

Truly, madly, deeply

The couple lay facing each other, slight smiles on display. Her lips tremble ever so gently as the joy she feels floats to the surface, making her want to burst into laughter. I found him she keeps repeating to herself. All the time away from her beloved children, the loss of newfound family, the daily struggles.....it was all worth it. She cannot contain the glorious smile that bursts forth as she lifts her hand to touch his curls. She sighs as he closes his eyes, both relishing in the comfort of each other. She is whole now just as she knows he is. A gasp escapes as she feels the caress of his fingertips. He traces his fingers down her arm, his eyes following his path. He lifts his blue orbs to her brown ones, takes a deep breath and releases it in complete contentment. He is enamored even more with the beautiful woman he fell in love with years ago. Her love, her strength, her resilience continues to astound him even after all their time apart. What surprises him even more is that it feels like no time passed at all. His love for her never wavered, never faltered and to his astonishment, her love remained faithful and true as well. Luck doesn’t begin to describe what he feels knowing he found the love of his life in an apocalyptic world. He brings his hand up to her hair, her gorgeous long locs, and draws comfort from their texture, moving closer so he can take a sniff. He missed so much about her, but he never forgot the scent of her hair. He inches even closer, placing a soft kiss on her lips. No words are needed as they continue to gaze into each other’s eyes. They both just want to relax in the moment, the outside world and responsibility temporarily forgotten. He splays a hand at her back, the feel of her smooth skin sending tremors through his body. He smiles as her eyes close and her lips part slightly. She spreads a hand at his chest and slowly caresses him. She knew he wasn’t dead. He couldn’t be because her heart never stopped yearning for him. She would’ve known, deep down, she would have known if he had truly perished. Somehow she never believed he was gone. She thanks her lucky stars daily at listening and acting on her instincts. It was the hardest thing she ever had to do, leaving their kids to search for him but her gamble paid off hugely. She wraps her arms around him and pulls him fully against her. They have endured so much but it has all been worth it. She nuzzles his neck gently as she welcomes his strong arms around her waist, squeezing her softly. “I love you,�� she whispers against his skin. “I will always love you.” He pulls back to look into her eyes and smiles widely. “I love you more.”
