Nature Pics Dump

I’m NOT a photographer, I took these photos with an iPhone six and honestly a lot of them were compulsive BUT I’ve been really missing New England (honestly Maine the most), so I’m gonna share some pics I took over the summer because it’s been stressful lately and they make me happy :) I love hiking and nature, but where I live the nativr vegetation just really bums me out (it’s pretty much just dead grass) and I have trouble going outside by myself as it is :/

^this hiking spot actually ended up being a dud which sucked because I would have loved to spend more time there (but it wasn’t worth the risk of poison ivy rash 😬)

This was from a bog boardwalk, genuinely one of the coolest hikes I’ve ever been on; THERE WERE PITCHER PLANTS FOR GODS SAKE!!! Idk if it’s obvious (sarcasm lol) but I LOVE wetlands, and although a bog isn’t a swamp, it’s just as epic in my nerd eyes.

Insomniac Sketch

I couldn’t sleep because my cats had been fighting and my insomnia has been kicking me in the balls again recently. I thought, let’s just do a quick sketch, frustrate ourselves and then be exhausted enough to go to bed but I ended up hyperfixating instead and then made this well into the morning instead of sleeping 🙃🙃🙃

Anyway, this isn’t quite a sketch because it’s too detailed but it’s also not something I made with maximum effort, so idk what that makes it. I used a reference photo but didn’t do a one to one, and this isn’t a character of mine or anything I just kinda based him off the model for the most part.

Honestly, it took me the time to get through my Tears for Fears playlist and I cuddled with my cat while I drew it so for the most part I was in paradise.

Also he’s not an insomniac, it seems like that’s what I’m calling him from the title but IM the insomniac.

Art School

Once upon a time I thought I was going to go to art school; long story short I realized that would be horrific for my anxiety and also I’m not good enough to get in!!!! but this is a drawing I made and showed to a rep from a fancy ass art school that I took an (overpriced) class over the summer my junior year of high school. The number one thing he told me over and over with all my drawings was a) I should have backgrounds (which, yeah fair that I’ll give to him) and b) what’s the meaning behind it? I guess I never realized how important “meaning” was to have in EVERY art piece I made, and although I’ve made some with symbolic meaning, a lot, like this one, is just cause I thought it’d look cool. And I still think it does!!! I mean, it’s a freaking skull with a dunce cap, it’s gnarly!! that’s all to say that I think art should be made because you wanted to make it. Whether you enjoy drawing things for fun or for deeper meanings, there’s no wrong reason to make art. I guess the way I do it isn’t what that school was looking for, and it’s taking a lot of reflection to realize that’s okay, I’m just gonna keep doing my thing :)

Oc Art and a ramble :)

Rockos modern balls was hilarious to me at 3am and I refuse to erase it. 🫶 Okay, so the guy above is my OC!! It’s really weird writing this even tho close to no one will probably see this because I never!! And I mean never!! Share my art but especially not my characters. I submitted a story to my schools lit mag and it gave me an anxiety attack for DAYS 😭

But anyway, this guys name is Roman Izyumov-Jones. I don’t want to say too much yet, but I guess key character points would be he’s very introverted, can be aggressive, introspective, and kind of a huge dork. He’s holding a guitar pick in the drawing, and he’s rly into cartoons (hence the Rockos Modern Life shirt). He’s not great with traditional school but worked in the trades since he was sixteen because his Ded (Russian for grandpa) owns an auto shop. He’s never really been good with people, and never instigated friendships but gets attached fiercely if another person creates a bond with him. So with this drawing I was challenging myself to just draw with an initial sketch and so that’s what I did!! Usually with my art is a struggle, because I have ADHD and OCD. The first means boring stuff like sketches drain the shit outta me and the second means I HAVE to draw with a sketch and make it absolutely perfect; so this drawing although kinda boring looking is actually pretty huge for me because I basically Lee Roy Jenkinsed the whole thing ☺️☺️

I wanna talk more about Roman and that particular Universe, but I’m not quite ready yet. I do have something I’ve been working on relating to them though!!

So I’ve never really been super into fan art, but lately it’s been something I’ve been trying out more to keep me drawing even when my inspos dry. So I think this post will be for my fan art, and I’ll just add to it when I think of it.

Okay so this is from a prompt I did with my sister to draw Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls humanoid. It was a fun sketch challenge, and honestly I just made him a dapper little man so not much changed! :)

Same prompt, but this is Mordecai from Regular show (I like cartoons can you tell??) Yes, he looks like a basic guy but honestly that’s how I imagine he’d be. The type of guy to wear the same outfit just in different colors cause he’s afraid try something too out there. Honestly, he was never really my favorite character from the show anyway. :/

This is just a drawing of Denji from Chainsawman. This drawing is old!! Like years old!! But I always like how it turned out for a sketch. Also it’s proof I can draw traditional I swear!!

This is kind of an older drawing too, but Inumaki Toge for the longest of times was my favorite character ever. I still love him!! (The amount of figures and merch prove as much.) i wouldnt say he’s my absolute favorite character right now though, but still a top three fs and my all time comfort character. I really liked his JJK 0 design and was sad when it changed (which was apparently because Itadori’s hair looked to similar in the manga which to that I say then redesign Yuji’s hair but I digress 🙄). So I drew this manga panel where him and Yuta (who I cosplayed for Halloween) are fighting that curse in the abandoned shopping district. I’ve watched that particular scene in the movie an embarrassing amount of times but it’s always been so cool to me!!!

I don’t really know what to put for a first post, so I chose the tried and true shitpost!!

I feel like I wanna introduce myself, so hi, I’m SwampCowboy :) This is my oc, which I was prompted to draw in the Peter griffin death pose. For plot reasons he will be 100% physically fine, thanks to his bestie who has friend zoned him for the past thirteen years.

So yeah, that’s the kind of stuff I make; I write more than I do draw, but now that I’ve started Ritalin I got the motivation/focus expansion update and have been drawing more! I’ve never had a blog or dedicated account for my work, and honestly it gives me a lot of anxiety to share my work but hey, I gotta make these years of therapy amount to something. This particular character is from my fantasy story that’s still ongoing, but I have realistic nonfiction, Greek mythology, sci-fi, and cyberpunk stories as well! (All of them have queer themes and neurodivergent characters, just to put that out there for my artsy baddies 😌😏).

Honestly, I made this blog because I don’t get out much (shocker) but wanted to start sharing some stuff and actually interacting with people about it! So if any of what I yapped seems interesting don’t be afraid to interact if you so desire!
