Phantom Menace, switch Padme and Obi-Wan sounds intriguing, especially how it would affect Padme and Obi-Wan's characterisation.

Thanks! So, for this one I had the thought that I’ve read a few AUs where roles are switched, but I haven’t read any where Padme is the Padawan (not that there aren’t any out there, I’m sure there are! I just haven’t found and read any).

I wanted her to still be 14, and be Qui-Gon’s Padawan, and Obi-Wan to be the heir to the Stewjoni throne (or just be a young King, like Padme is a young Queen), and it’s Stewjon that’s being harassed (invaded) by the Trade Federation, etc.

And Anakin would be the same except it’s Obi-Wan he asks if he’s an angel (long-haired obi my beloved), etc. I haven’t thought much past that except that I wondered would Padme become Anakin’s master? I think not, given I want her to be young. So Qui-Gon would love and then they’d be assigned to protect senator Obi-Wan from assassination attempts (much more snark and arguments than in canon/aotc with Padme) and of course they fall in love.

The thought of Padme as a padawan is what intrigues me at first, but she’d probably end up being a background character by the mid-point. Obikin takes over everything.

Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?

Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.
