I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:
IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.
1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.
2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.
3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”
4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”
5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.
TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.
Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

Also for the new wave of young tumblr users on here, I just want to let you know you’re not obligated to list out your life story for strangers online no matter how many nasty anons ask you to.

A very messy doodle I did yesterday for @roselinproductions, as a congrats for the release of the StarClan Battles casting call! Ambereyes is a really neat character and I can’t wait to hear you play her! (apologies if I messed up her design, finding refs besides the height chart wasn’t the easiest task... or maybe I’m looking in the wrong places, haha)

One “criticism trope” I have come to dislike is “no one ever says things the other person already knows, that’s unrealistic.”
Obviously there are better and worse ways to handle this, but I will literally tell my family and friends stories they were there for and repeat their own speech back to them while they politely listen and fill in gaps in my narration. Repeating information and stories, even to people who already know them, is a thing humans do! The concept is not wholly unrealistic, and can be used to further plot and characterization.
Instead of throwing it all out, here are some suggestions on how to have characters bring up information they already know but your audience doesn’t:
Have them reminisce on an event that’s relevant to the exposition you need to get across
Have them make an inside joke around someone who needs it explained to them and sneak some exposition into the explanation
If you have a character who is forgetful/cautious/has anxiety, consider having them ask to go over the details of the plan one more time, or remind others around them of key details even though they already know
Have exposition worked into the setting (posters, graffiti, songs on the radio, news broadcasts) that the characters can comment on or discuss
If there’s a key issue in the story that needs explaining, try having two characters with differing views argue over it and pepper in exposition while they explain their reasoning
Let characters go on mental tangents if you’re working in first person or third person limited POV that include exposition
Have a character tease another for not knowing something they should have known, but somehow didn’t learn or learned incorrectly
There are dozens of other ways common knowledge can come up in a character interaction, so your options certainly aren’t limited to the list above. But, if you’re worried about exposition dumps through dialogue, here are some ideas to get you thinking!

Was playing around on the new Warriors site and decided to doodle my Government Assigned Warrior! I got Birdshell :)
Any Warriors fans lurking about, check out the site, it’s pretty cool. We’ve got official merch now apparently!
