In the Warm/Cool painting, the mood can be described as chaotic. The person is depicted with a mix of warm colors, contributing to a sense of emotional turmoil. The dark background intensifies this effect, adding an element of anxiety. Overall, It gives a sense that emotions are everywhere.

This wasn't too challenging; the lighter areas were whiter compared to the darker areas. I really like how it turned out.

Completed Abstract Discord
I would say the color of the discord of almost perfect. Using masking tape all over the panel made things a lot easier. I cut shape on the masking tape. Next time I would use more force cutting the masking tape.

Whitney Museum Visit Part 3
This artwork by Rockwell Kent, The Trapper shows a very cool color. The cool color is the shadow casted by the mountain and snow. It shows the blue colors which symbolizes how frigid it is. The clouds are a warm color showing the warm color of the sun.

Whitney Museum Visit Part 2
One artwork that evoked mood was Sailors and Floosies by Paul Cadmus, This image shows that men are in much need of woman in their life. "The artist exaggerates the tight fit of the sailors’ uniforms and the dresses clinging to the women’s bodies to heighten the scene’s sexual energy." The mood is very sexual where the men being seduced by the women.

Whitney Museum Visit Part 1
4 things I liked
The first painting I saw was the Rockwell Kent, The Trapper. This is one of my favorite paintings because I love how all the colors blend together. I like the different shades of blue.

The second painting I liked was Archibald John Motley, Jr., Gettin’ Religion. I liked this photo because of the amount of people gathered together and each person has different characteristic.

The Labyrinth made by Robert Vickrey is another art piece that stood out to me. I love the maze in the picture. On each wall in the maze it has a different piece of artwork done to it.

The fourth artwork I liked was The Rose by Jay Defeo. I liked the texture of the paint. It really amazed me that the artwork weighed 1500 pounds!

4 things I didnt like
Perkins Youngboy Dos Passos by Josephine Hopper Bequest was a decent piece art work. It seemed pretty basic to me.

The second artwork I didnt like was by Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst. This was a AI generated photo. To me it looked very authentic to me.

The third piece I disliked was The Dark Figure by Federico Castellon. This artwork had me guessing what the theme was. It was difficult to interpret.

The fourth piece of painting I disliked what was EVENING AT CARL INN by Chiura Obata. It had nice greens of shade but it seemed very basic.

What is a Color Discord?
A color discord is when you place 2 colors side by side with the same exact tonal value. The process was easy for this assignment. To match the tonal value I would just add white into the mix till both colors match. Using the camera helped a lot to determine the tonal value.

Opaque Painting
I personally liked this style of painting more. Having different shades of paint in preparation made things a lot more efficient. I was able to paint quicker and not having to mix oils constantly.

Week 7 Completed Still Life

Mixing colors is one of the most time-consuming and challenging tasks during this process. Achieving the perfect shades of green required numerous trials and errors. Additionally, blending posed its own set of difficulties. To tackle the issue of oversaturation, I used the color wheel for guidance. Understanding its principles helped me adjust the intensity of colors, particularly evident in refining the hues of the cone in the picture.
