THE FOUNDER from Chris Floyd on Vimeo.
Russell Norman is the founder of the Polpo group of restaurants in London. Inspired by the bacari of Venice, the back street bars that fuel the people of the beautiful Italian city, the original Polpo opened in 2009 in Beak Street, Soho, London. By a remarkable coincidence the site of the first Polpo was also once the London home and studio of the most famous Venetian artist of all time, Canaletto. There's even a blue plaque on the wall of the building to honour this wonderful piece of information.
Over three days in June 2015, Chris Floyd shot a film about Russell in Soho and Venice. Join him as he takes us through some of the places that inspired him to create this modern London landmark and we dare you to deny yourself a Polpo trademark Aperol Spritz as the soporific waters of an early summer's evening in Venice close the film.

Just received my copy of the new crowdfunded photo-book from the long-term project ‘A Wounded Landscape: Bearing Witness To The Holocaust’ by my friend photographer, Marc Wilson 📷 Such an epic undertaking, criss-crossing most of Eastern Europe over 5 years, now documented, printed & encapsulated for perpetuity 🙌🏻 Every school library should have a copy for reference & the survivor stories taught in classes, so it never gets lost on future generations. You can see more images over on Marc’s website marcwilson.co.uk (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVS5-bCIQq_/?utm_medium=tumblr

What’s so important on #WorldPhotographyDay is that you look at your nearest & dearest & photograph them at will 📷 They will not always be there…& you will learn about their life, yourself & your art in doing so. Tell their story. Charles & Doris. My grandparents. Married for over 68 years & separated only by WW2 when Grandad volunteered for the RAF 🙌🏻 (at Ashview Nursing Home) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSwZ-fEoOuU/?utm_medium=tumblr

How was your WEEKEND on January 31st 1998? I remember it being pretty good...that’s why I kept this for future reading. So this weekend was good too 📸 HCB is incomparable IMO. No one can even get close, the legend was a total machine. “Photography for me, is a spontaneous impulse, the result of a constant awareness, which captures a moment & eternity” 📸 Henri Cartier-Bresson to Liz Jobey of The Guardian 🙌🏻 (at Wanstead Flats) https://www.instagram.com/p/CN0HPCunepO/?igshid=3uxgtuzmujtd
