Richard Madden is headed to outer space: the Game of Thrones and Cinderella actor has been set to lead Amazon’s new drama pilot Strange New Things, based on Michel Faber’s novel The Book Of Strange New Things.

Described as “a heart-wrenching love story of a husband and wife with the universe between them,” the project centers on a soulful, intense priest (Madden) who leaves his wife to travel to a distant planet/colony to preach to the native population. According to TVLine the drama is being eyed as a 10-episode event series.

Bridge of Spies’ Matt Charman will serve as an executive producer and pen the pilot that Kevin MacDonald will direct.
