It's epic you've done all those words! This disease is the worst.
Word count check: 11,790.
This was meant to be a short story that would take two or three months.
I started it in February 2024. I'm not sure I'm half way through?
Chronic fatigue means I'm writing this at like, a sentence a day on good days only.
Once I have this thing out of my head I can do other things.
I want to do other things.

IDK, I have met an awful lot of middle-aged white men in senior positions who are unbelievably obtuse and unaware.
These are often men who think they are liberal, and genuinely have no idea of the garbage that comes out of their own mouths or how much they are hurting those around them.
The person who thinks themselves left wing, but never considers that they might be part of the problem, is very, very dangerous.
Do you ever interact with someone and you realize “this person has never had to consider or think about what their place in the world is, and why they believe certain things or act certain ways, this person has never considered society at length” and it’s just terrifying

Something I think people who don’t live with chronic illness don’t understand is that there is a big difference between resting to get better and resting to avoid getting worse.

Your reminder that everyone deserves not just a living wage, but a comfortable wage. Everyone. And if we taxed and regulated the rich it would be easy to afford it.

Husband called me into the bedroom to show me the tag on our mattress cover, he was very proud.
“This seems like something tumblr will like! It’ll get you all the notes…ReTumbls? It’ll get you all the ReTumbls.”

I'm 42 in a couple of weeks; I think my mum may have finally accepted that it might not happen, but only a few years ago she started saying that the doll's house she started making for me and my sister when I was 7 (still not finished - it's her doll's house and it always was really) will go to whichever out of me, my sister, and my step-sister has a girl.
Now, at that point in time I'd been clear about not wanting kids for well over a decade. My sister had two boys and her then-husband got the snip so he couldn't have any more.
So mentally I was just, like, 'So... you're going to give "our" doll's house to my step-sister then.'
Like, tbf, I accepted that the doll's house wasn't for me a long time ago. But in a situation where any of X, Y, and Z could get a thing if they do p; X can no longer do p; Y has said they will never do p; and Z is unknown... the only way she could have thought it wasn't going to Z was if my sister got a different husband or I wasn't serious about not wanting kids.
Sorry, Mum, I'm not gonna decide to have kids just to throw my hat in the ring for your doll's house.
Also: why the fuck couldn't my sister's boys have the doll's house?
"instead of being so obsessed with the suffering of the child, why don't you consider how antinatalism harms adults?"
you're grown, you can suck it.

I was on a bus once when this guy tapped my knee and pointed out that we were the only two people not looking at their phones and then asked what I was thinking about.
sometimes when I’m having a bad day I relive the moment I saw the his manic pixi dream girl hopes draining from his eyes and fill up with confusion and boredom as I explained to him I was thinking about which Rupaul’s Drag Race challenges Frank n Furter would preform best in and locked him into the conversation until it was my stop

what you learn from hobbies:
consistent practice opens up whole worlds of skill that you couldn't imagine
making mistakes in the process of learning is not only natural, it is also essential
activities that you enjoy can give you more energy back than you spent on them
wow everything is so expensive

Well, this is weird - half my commentary and the photo of the Camberley White Elephant are missing:

Anyway, I was quibbling that Space Station (the gas station with all the Daleks on top of it) is actually accurate reproductions of what the thing is meant to be, so possibly isn't in the spirit of this. The concrete pipe elephant, on the other hand...
Your hometown has “culture,” but does it have a 13 foot, bright orange, bug-eyed t-rex with weirdly human teeth

Needs to also not feel icky on your skin and make your eyes sting when it gets in your eyes.
we need to invent a spray tan-style treatment but instead of spraying you with tanning stuff it sprays you with heavy duty spf. and it lasts a few weeks so that way you can just get your spf spray a few times a summer instead of having to spend 10 minutes every day getting sticky and oily and making sure the sunscreen is all rubbed in. how do i get on shark tank
