i know people complain about the “heavy violence set to an upbeat tune” trope being over done in media but my guy, i eat that shit UP. the utter joy that i experienced watching the iconic coffee shop scene, five taking out all those men set to “istanbul not constantinople” was s t e l l a r

Sidenote I adore Madam Mim. Like. I just love her. All these other villains are here with grandiose plots and nemesis-making schemes and she's just. Vibing. In the woods. Cackling to herself and playing cards. She only tries to kill Arthur because she thinks it's be funny and destroys her own house in the process with no thought to it. Her rivalry with Merlin is entirely fuelled by the fact he calls himself the world's most powerful wizard and for that she will Cause him Problems on Purpose just to see him lose his temper. There's no plot relevance attached to her at all in the film it's just ten fifteen minutes of tomfoolery and for that we stan a legend.

I pretend to be complex and clever but in reality, nothing has ever made me laugh harder than those bad Chinese subtitles from the bootleg Lord of the Rings DVDs. Tears streaming down my face, core aching, slowly suffocating because I’m laughing too hard.

Any Disney Villains headcanons you want to share?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy ok, so these are going to be relevant to my mishmash au for the time being, which takes places after the films various timelines so the villains deffo remember deafeat and dying, but under the cut because this got LONG:

Hades

With the possible exception of the coco and book of life universes, the underworld is the only established afterlife in the 'Verse.

Dude drags himself from the bottom of the styx nursing a sore jaw only to find the soul counter going a mile a minute and Hermes shakily laughing about the fact he'll be busy for A While

He's got all the dead from almost every realm coming to him and Olympus has banned him from any godly get-togethers.

It's only a bare string of willpower stopping him from climbing back into the styx and calling it an eternity right then and there.

...yeah man he's not doing well. Under all the snark and the sass and the scheming, Hades is actually deeply unhappy and doesn't really see that changing anytime soon.

At least until he comes across other tall dark and deadlies wandering the outskirts of his realm that is!

Everything under the surface is technically Hades' domain, not just the lands of the dead, so any spooky tunnel could theoretically lead to his neck of the woods, and boy do villains love spooky tunnels and creepy architecture.

There's this certain genie too, originally locked in a 'cave of wonders' type thing (he rolls his eyes at what mortals call 'wonders'. He's the God of Wealth, not Standards.) who hasn't stopped raging and blustering since he cracked him out. Call him crazy but there's something about Tall Dark and Saracstic that's kinda spicing things up for him...

Maleficent

Lady is unshakable and adaptable, lets put it that way.

Most come-to in this realm in a question-fillied panic. She awoke, hummed at the scar wound on her chest that was the leftover of her death, and decided to make her continued existence everyone elses problem.

Has some kind of sixth sense for the gatherings where it would be most inconviennt for her to show up. Shows up anyway.

Is absolutely going to curse anyone who turns their nose up at her arrival, no infant required this time, those fucks have been extinguished and her sole joy in this new world is to find new ways for Merryweathers face to turn purple

Is singlehandedly researching a way to work around the physics of this realm where every sure-fire death shot will miss by a hair. She'll get there. Eventually.

The other souls tainted by darkness that she has come across are beneath her, but so long as they show respect she has little issue socialising.

Was Not Pleased to find that her castle was now linked to other villains castles via unpredicatable temporal rift.

Captain Hook

Bless this man and his overactive heart rate. Smee is on overtime.

The pirates are a bunch that roll with the punches, supernatural or no. Hook's paranoia is already paying dividends in covering him against other pirates and oceanic characters he's encountering post-Neverland.

He was able to band together and negotiate with other pirates reasonably well, even if Barbossa's curse nearly caused a panic attack and he couldn't stop staring at the contraption Silver was sporting in place of an arm

God what he would do for one of those, his stump aches something fierce but he's pretty attached to his hook at this point.

The Jolly Rodger is currently docked while he gets his bearings, maps aren't really helpful in this world as the ocean currents tend to change and Islands appear and disappear on a whim.

Also the Kraken has been seen hanging around and he's not going near the giant murder octopus for love nor money.

I personally headcanon that Hook's clothes, comprised of silk, smooth metal buttons and fancier embroidrey, operate as a form of self sooth. He often idly runs his fingers over his hook and his necktie becuse the pleasing textures smooth the fraying edges of his anxiety.

At least TikTok hasn't been seen since he arrived. He's not sure where the beast is, but as long as it's away from him he swings between not caring or considering hiring one of the poachers he's seen around to off the beast for him.

Smee is hopeful that this new world will encourage his captain to get out of his shell and start moving past the traumas he's suffered in Neverland. Even if he has to shove him ashore himself.
