Vox does not like most sinners and gets frustrated with them very easily when he's out and about. At first Valentino was very interested in seeing him do another Oopsie but when he finally does, Vox's pure distress, combined with threats of violence being made towards Val himself, encourages him to lay off on trying to egg him on.

Besides, it ends up being more fun to watch Vox fumble into other sins and try to deny it.

Val will instead take Vox away with him somewhere private to calm down once he notices Vox getting a bit of bloodthirsty when dealing with the 'stupid, ignorant, filthy, sinners'. He'd rather deal with an angry Vox than a sad, mopey one that makes him feel bad.

Vox is usually feeling humiliated by the time he calms down - he's not used to things not working out for him or people not listening to him or really getting angry. Fortunately, Val doesn't make fun of him for any of that (there's sooo many other things to make fun of him for) so Vox feels safe (?) in letting Val see his frustrations in a way he felt he couldn't do with anyone before.
