with squinted eyes to aid with his blurred vision , the blond felt proud of himself as he was able to send a text with no typos . a simple ‘ you up ? ’ it read , the receiver mia . attempting & failing at the romantic ‘ rocks at a window ’ gesture due to his blood-alcohol level being at a number he’d regret in a few hours , prince charming thought the booty-call text would work instead . and anger less of her neighbors again . as he swayed under the street-lamps & looked up to the building ( hoping he maneuvered his way to the right one ... ) , his mind felt clear . as the night fell hours prior to his adventures , his thoughts were SPIRALING , chest heavy , anxiety keeping his eyes wide-awake , so that bottle of jack was a well needed adjustment , distraction . DESPITE how many times he promised his coach that he wouldn’t drink before a saturday morning practice . and now , as he found himself this way often , he was at his friend’s ( ? ) stoop on a late evening . ‘ your doorman thinks i’m homeless hurry, ’ text sent .

stumbling out of a BOOMING downtown club , one arm resting ( or leaning ) across the shoulders of his blonde counterpart , rex chuckled as he spoke with a breath tainted of whiskey , “ my place or yours ?” he TEASED . the humid air around them felt heavy ; the crowded taxi-filled streets and bustling night-goers left a white noise too loud for him ( or anyone ) to notice the footsteps of the man following shortly behind the two . all was normal , it seemed .
