Kasumi Toyama - Promised Candy
The first 3 star! How exciting! I love how the original Popipa 3 stars carry their theme onto their first Dreamfest series, it makes it really clear just how far the art style has progressed. The trained version of this card includes the star motif in nearly every aspect of it, which is a nice way to represent Kasumi’s unstoppable kira kira doki doki spirit at the beginning of the band’s story.

Morfonica - Onstage (2-star)
These cards exude a confidence from the band as a whole. They know that they have a unique musical point of view, and are ready to share it with the world! My personal favorite card in this group is Mashiro’s. It’s refreshing to see a look of power in her face rather than self-doubt.

Roselia - Onstage (2-star)
I think these cards do a great job of representing the attitudes that each member of Roselia brings to the band at its formation. My personal favorite card in this bunch is Ako’s. Her passion for Roselia and determination to become the coolest drummer in the world and is very obvious.

Pastel*Palettes - Onstage (2-star)
I am a fan of the initial stage costumes, but it’s also fun to see how they evolve over time from a sort of standard idol look into something that is much more representative of the spirit and unique qualities of Pastel*Palettes as a band, not just as an idol group. Also, where are Chisato’s legs?

Hello, Happy World! - Onstage (2-star)
I honestly don’t think HHW have been able to top their initial stage outfits. The marching band theme is clear, simple, yet bold, and fits with the genre of their music perfectly. And we get our first appearance of Michelle in this card set, how exciting!

Afterglow - Onstage (2 star)
On the whole, I like Afterglow’s initial stage outfits, but DEAR GOD I hate Himari’s outfit so much. So so so much. The hat is so stupid and small - just take it off. PLEASE. The outfit would be much cuter. On another note, Tomoe continues to stunt.

Poppin’ Party Onstage (2-star)
My favorite card in this group has to be either Saaya or Tae. These initial Poppin’ Party costumes have a sort of homemade feel to them that suits their just-starting-out era, but they are a bit basic. The star-topped stockings are a really cute touch, though.

Starting off this review journey by grouping all of the 1-star cards together by band. Next: Morfonica
Mashiro Kurata: So much worry in her expression! I want her to feel more confident, so this card makes me kind of sad.
Touko Kirigaya: This card reminds me so much of Lisa’s 1-star. She has a similar energy, but the inclusion of her phone makes it clear she is popular on social media.
Nanami Hiromachi: What a Mocatastic expression! She certainly knows something I don’t.
Tsukushi Futaba: So much confidence! Maybe too much? It seems as though she is faking it.
Rui Yashio: She’s lovely, but I am not a fan of this pose. She is 15, y’all.

Kokoro Tsurumaki: She looks ready to do some acrobatics, as well as slightly crazed in the eyes, so... perfect?
Kaoru Seta: If I had to describe this card in one word it would be................................. fleeting.
Hagumi Kitazawa: A character with a fanged tooth will always win me over, so I loved her immediately.
Kanon Matsubara: I love this card because I can compare it to her newer cards and just SEE her character growth and how much more confident she is in herself now.
Misaki Okusawa: With a look of slight confusion on her face, I could think of no more perfect way to be introduced to her.

Yukina Minato: I will never be worthy in her eyes, and that much is clear just from her closed-off pose and expression.
Sayo Hikawa: I am clearly bothering her while she is deep in thought. Sorry, Sayo-san.
Lisa Imai: She looks so carefree and stylish! Another girl I would love to go shopping with.
Ako Udagawa: If you can’t tell that Ako is a chuunibyou just from looking at this card, something is wrong.
Rinko Shirokane: She looks SO sad. I can’t wait for her more confident cards.

Aya Maruyama: I would love to go shopping with her! She looks fun to be around.
Hina Hikawa: She has a look of confidence so strong it’s almost unnerving.
Chisato Shirasagi: Such a frivolous pose for such a serious girl...
Maya Yamato: “Who, me? An idol?!” - This card says it all.
Eve Wakamiya: So much striking, pure beauty and excitement contained in a single image. I am overwhelmed.

Ran Mitake: She looks standoffish, yet intriguingly edgy. I think it’s a great first impression of Ran as a character.
Moca Aoba: This pose and expression seems very un-Mocalike to me. She looks bored and over it, like she thinks she is better than you. I would hope that is not the case.
Himari Uehara: This card doesn’t tell me much about Himari other than the fact that she is cute.
Tomoe Udagawa: This is my personal favorite 1 star card, she just looks so badass and mature.
Tsugumi Hazawa: What a Tsugurific pose! She looks reliable and determined, a great introduction of her character.

Starting off this review journey by grouping all of the 1-star cards together by band. Up first: Poppin’ Party!
Kasumi Toyama: A cute pose, you can really feel her energy and spirit.
Tae Hanazono: I’ve always thought that O-Tae was one of the prettiest girls, and this card is no exception.
Rimi Ushigome: Adorable, just like Rimi herself.
Saaya Yamabuki: My only criticism of this card is that I think Saaya’s casual outfit is ugly.
Arisa Ichigaya: I love this haughty pose, it really represents the sort of refined, removed aura she tried to exude at the beginning of the story while still showing her tsundere-ism.

Before I start reviewing every Bandori card, I figured I should post my garupa sorter to explain any biases I might have.
