Shinji watched the arrancar study him, keeping his pose of his hands in his pockets and one hip cocked. He didn't mind. The arrancar could look at him all he wanted. When he spoke Shinji scrunched his nose up and rolled his eyes up to look at the sky. "How obscure," he sighed. "Deciphering your words would be so troublesome. I can only assume you're trying to tell me you aren't here to cause trouble. Is that true, arrancar?" 

Why didn't Shinji know about this arrancar? He had thought all of them to be dead, but here one was, just walking around. He didn't particularly look to be in a threatening mood, but Shinji wasn't about to walk away from him and let the pale man cause trouble for Ichigo. "Are you here because you have some kind of grudge against Kurosaki?" he asked curiously.

“Well well. I must say I’m surprised. Here I thought you were dead, arrancar. Too bad the war didn’t finish you off, but I would be more than happy to now.”

"Paperwork. Gross." Shinji made a face and then grinned at her again. "Everything is always well in my division," he chuckled. "Until Hiyori sticks her freckled nose in it. Speaking of, have you seen a stray toothbrush lying around anywhere? I could have lost it, but I have a feeling a certain blonde stole it. She's such a bother when she wants my attention. Oh. I forgot. You got promoted didn't you? I guess I should've congratulated sooner." He patted her on the back, smirking.

She merely perked up in mild surprise at the presence of the visored. Rukia halted in her steps and regarded him for a moment. “Hirako-taicho,” she greeted, simultaneously offering a nod of acknowledgement. “Did you need something?”

"Well that just sounds...fabulous I'm sure. All that...work and all. At least with you around we don't have to work so hard, eh Ichigo? Still, if you feel like training some time you know I'm always up for it. Unless I'm sleeping. How's Orihime?"
