Hydrotherapy
A short story by yours truly
"Grandpa always told me about how there used to be a huge lake where the huge mall by our house sits, and how it dried up one day"
Guy is on boat with some other, older guy. Grandpa let's say. They're on the water getting ready to go fishing. The grandpa talks about how they haven't gone out on the "young brother" lake in years. the guy is only barely listening, he's looking out at the fishing rod against the scenery of his surroundings. Just then he spots a person on the water. it's a young man with a cadaceus playing a lyre. He smiles at the guy and plays a small strum on the lyre. "Hey kid, pay attention! You'll drop your rod into the sea if it slips!"The guy gets shocked back into the space of the boat, pulling their rod close to their body. They look back again and the young man with the cadaceaus is gone. The guy goes back to setting up his bait and tackle with the grandpa. some time passes with a sky overview of the sun moving. Later on while waiting for a bite, the grandpa is sleeping while the young man is checking the water. He hears the strumming again and his attention is brought to the young man on the water playing the instrument again. When he notices the person, he stops and
smiles, looking back. He puts the instrument down, raising his rod to the sky, he looks up at the view.
"It's beautiful, the twilight, here we can see the colors of the end of one world and the beginning of another. The time of daylight cleans up as the hour of moonlight makes it's appearance". small ripples appear around where he stands, and then small splashes, they send water vapor through the sky. THe guy's eyes turn red. they watches as the man falls into the water, making a splash. As the splash fades away his shadow in the water grows until it's huge. And then it fades away.
The boy sees a small turtle and snake surface from where the man was standing. they takes their rod and fishes out the turtle. The turtle makes a strange sound, the snake coiled around the turtle cries to the person "Pleassse let usss go on our way." the person is startled looking around, asking where the voice came from. "Look no further than your hands, child." the person looks down at the snake, "we're kin of another world. You don't seem to belong here. Humes normally strike our kin as if natural reaction. IF you let us go, you shall recieve a future present of life, whereas if you strike us, you shall give a present of death. Sometimes, to perform a virtue is a sin, and performing a sin will result in a virtue. Humanity has been debating on which is more noble, but now it's up to you. What will you choose? Take a little win, or give a small loss?"
The guy decides to let the turtle fall back into the water, "So our covenant begins..." Plop.
The guy looks back at his fishing pole and sits back against the boat, eventually falling asleep. The guy dreams is told in first person view:
After sleeping, I found myself in a small village. Everyone there was a stranger, but they were all friendly. I brought my fish to trade in the market today. The children looked a little wierd, having the faces and tails of animals, the adults were a bit more human in appearance. I was shown through a small selection of household items to trade. One was a fancy seat, another was a coffee machine, and the last was a large bottle of glue. I chose the glue. WIth it, I planned to make the other two items and have some left to make something else as well. I handed over the catch of the day and began to leave. a child called out my name, although I don't remenber giving it out. They showed me the sky, the sun setting and the moon coming out at the same time. I awoke.
Not much time had passed, but it was darker. it's because a giant creature had risen from the sky. It made a pillar, blocking out the center of the beautiful sky. It was eldritch in it's conception. a huge thing with strange froglike skin and fins and beady eyes.the water rushes around it in a whirlpool. THe old man is awake, looking at the scene. "THis is crazy, look the land is starting to fill with water as well..." They watch as the water continues to rise. "It's as if another world is crossing with ours!" The beast penetrates a ripple in the sky, turning the whole sky a different color. It loops down and heads straight back into the water, except now it's heading straight for the boat. it engulfs the boat as well. the guy falls into the darkness of the creature. they rush into darkness, their face sees the darkness rush around them and  eventually the rushing stops.
The boat is gone and there's a plank now. Ther person has drifted onto a beach. There is the hat the grandpa was wearing ripped next to the wreckage. The person looks at it, then back up into the sky. the words echo "so our covanent begins" a shot of the face of the snake and turtle. they sit up and look out to the distance. Water in every direction, except for the half sunken mall in the distance.
"Grandpa always told me about how there used to be a huge lake where the huge mall by our house sits, and how it dried up one day"
The person clutches the sand by their hands and begins to cry. It distances out into the scene of the mall.

People holding onto man trying to commit suicide. This is in North West London, at the North Circular A41 roundabout. Some people had jumped in to stop him whilst others grabbed rope to tie and hold him in place until police arrived to save him. He was about to jump 25-30 feet onto a 3 lane 50 mph arterial carriage way during rush hour.
