I know that it is now common to have mains and exclusives. And while there is no problem with having mains and maybe exclusive ship partners, it can be problematic to become exclusive with certain (canon) characters, as it leads to exclusion. Especially if you have interacted with the same characters before and then suddenly decide to interact only with one specific person. Sudden exclusion, even though there have been previous, good interactions, can be hurtful, and I hope that this community will interact with each other in a kind, considerate way.
