you could always just give estrogen a try, you know. set your concepts of gender aside and focus on what it would do to your flesh. your skin would get softer, your body hair would become thinner and softer, and the smell of your body would shift, all within the first few weeks. it'd start small, sure, but it'd grow over the next coming months - where, of course, the emotional changes come in. you'll cry a little easier each day, emotions flowing much more smoothly as your body aligns with the shape it wants.
sometime in that first year you'll probably notice the start of some breast development - especially if you've been eating well. little, firm nubs of flesh, right beneath the nipple, that'll slowly grow into cute little a cups - more than enough to cherish and adore, as you've probably heard.
they'll be significantly more sensitive to touch, of course, which might then lead you to discover how much more sensitive overall you've become. with your body softened, you naturally can feel every physical sensation a bit more. play your cards right, touch yourself properly, and you might just experience the intense, full-body orgasms you can now experience.
all of this and more could be yours, you know. i give you permission. i promise it's worth it.

In my experience as a third culture kid who travels a lot the best indicator that you as a non-x is appreciating x culture is if the locals actively invite you to participate in it with them
Yes, you are allowed to buy those handmade Inuit winter clothes if an Inuk is literally selling them to you. They would not be offering you a price point if they didnt want you to buy and wear them. And you might discover that theyre the best winter clothes youve ever worn because of COURSE they would be if theyve kept this culture warm in harsh winters for thousands of years.
Yes, you are allowed to join those Cambodians in that local holiday theyre celebrating during your visit if they literally invited you to it. They would not have invited you if they didnt want you to participate. And in the process you might learn a lot about a culture you never wouldve interacted with and you can all have a laugh together about your clumsy but genuine attempts at getting your footwork right in one of their traditional dances.
Yes, you are also allowed to ask if you can participate in something from the local culture you are visiting. Sometimes you will get "sorry, thats a closed practice" but in my experience most of the time you'll get "of course, let me show you how to do this!" And in my experience people tend to appreciate when others make an active effort in sharing their culture and wont stone you to death if youre clumsy about it while youre learning. I guarantee that the local children doing all of this for the first time too make the same mistakes you do and they can tell if youre being disrespectful or genuine.
So much "cultural appropriation" discourse really starts to sound like "you cant participate or visit any other cultures if youre from a Colonial Culture and have to stay in your little box and never relate to other people"

Women scientists made up 25% of the Pluto fly-by New Horizon team. Make sure you share this, because erasing women’s achievements in science and history is a tradition. Happens every day.

This is actually one of the things that haunts me the most from before my transition; right after I came out one of my middle school teachers was arrested for grooming several students (I had had him about 2 years before ever suspecting I was any shade of queer) and I only know how he treated me because after I said maybe it was a good thing I grew up as a guy and didn't have to deal with that, one of my friends who also had been targeted looked me dead in the eyes and said "what the hell are you talking about? He treated you just like the other girls." And suddenly every time I felt uncomfortable around him, every time he made a comment about how "You girls can wear a suit to our concerts and if you guys want to wear a dress you totally can," all suddenly dawned on me.
Like I thought I was uncomfortable because he was just a weird guy but then every girl I talked to confirmed that I had experienced similarly to them. And that haunts me to this day, 6 years after his arrest and 8 years after being in his class.
"Pretransition, repressed trans woman" is so often framed as a position of "basically a man, therefore relatively privileged" and let's be clear: No. Fuck no.
What you're actually looking at there is someone who is, or has been, noticeably queer to others. She's been, or is being, subjected to queerphobic abuse mechanisms from society, and that is likely to be a significant component of why she's repressing in the first place.
Then, the denial of the fact of her identity means that she has no tools to understand why this abuse happens. She might think this is just normal stuff men should put up with, even as she is being treated worse than the actual men around her, and so put the blame on herself for failing to deal with it. She might think she's a uniquely inexplicable failure, too "straight" to be gay and too gay to be straight.
This is not a position of privilege, it's a fucking cage.

every liberal cis person covering the supreme court decision keeps being like
"this is a tiny percentage just getting puberty blockers and sometimes HRT or top surgery when they're teenagers, with explicit parental consent and psychiatric evaluation. no one is saying it would be okay for a huge percentage of the population to medically transition or that kids should be allowed to give informed consent to receive genital surgery."
I am, actually. make room in your defense of trans liberation for surgically altering sexed traits and for youth liberation. if you don't know how to defend that yet, then you need to learn more.
shit is rolling back too fast for cis people to keep making these apologetic reassurances to other cis people that no one really wants to give trans kids bodily autonomy. yes we do. are you on board or not?

Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.

It's actually vital we tell "men" that they don't have to like men and they can be a lesbian. we can save so many trans girls from a horrid cycle of misery, we can save them from convincing themselves they're just gay men because that's what they think wanting to be a woman means. we can save them. i know we can.
#i always related more to lesbians than i did to anyone else#i would spend nights wishing i was a lesbian for years before i realized i was trans
