BYRON - A Chicago business magazine is reporting that Exelon Corp. is considering closing three of its six Illinois nuclear plants, including its Byron nuclear towers, if the state doesn't pass legislation to help make the plants more profitable. GENEVA The Kane County State'€™s Attorney's Office has filed a petition for leave to intervene before the Illinois Commerce Commission regarding ComEd’s proposed Grand Prairie Parkway project. The plan under consideration is for a 345,000-volt power line on steel towers that would be 165 feet tall.
