I feel like most people don't realize that the English language rests so much power on words taken by pop culture.

Even the word "ok" was originally used as a political term (in 1840 the democratic party called their president Martin Van Buren, who was from a place called Kinderhook, "Old Kinderhook" in some form of slogan in hopes of reelection).

Richard Dawkins coined the term "meme" in 1976 under the book the Selfish Gene. He used it to explain how "cultural ideas" so quickly catch fire amongst the masses, sounds a lot more like trends but it is what it is.

"Dingus" started catching on in the 1870s after an article released on a popular new game at the time. From there the word (that usually described unspecified objects) then started to describe foolish people.

I love that Jimmy Olsen is exactly the type of photographer Peter Parker pretends to be. Just bat-shit insane.

The world could be ending, lava on the streets and Jimmy would be out there photographing away. No powers, no sense of self preservation. Just khakis, a camera and a dream.

I like to imagine Peter meeting Jimmy and immediately being mortified about it.

Father’s Day SLADE

Hi guys, as some of you know, I did some stories a couple of years ago centered around Slade and his family, I always have loved this part of his story that has never quite been explored that much in comics but i never quite found an audience or interest, maybe i was making everything too complex, maybe my skills weren’t there or my writing was poor or too hard to follow…idk.

Anyway, i never stopped thinking and wanting to draw more about them and just for this year’s father’s day i let myself go and I made this page. I dont think i will go back to do comics about them or at least not anytime soon but i would like to know if there’s more people out there who like this.
