when i say i have a latex allergy i dont mean the rubbery material (but im allergic to that too), but academic writing formatting tool LaTeX. drawing a graph for my thesis took up dozens of lines of code. my tables never format right the first time. fully aware that this is a skill issue and i literally could just do this in word and excel but my friend has challenged me to do this and i cant back down. i am actively crashing out over compiling errors.

The True Allegory of the Faunus Plot

Or: the Faunus Plotline is actually great, y’all are just Amero-centric.

I’ve always enjoyed the Faunus Plotline in RWBY, and I’ve never really understood the criticisms. But recently, I saw someone talking about how “Adam doesn’t fit the Malcolm X role” and I had a realization why.

For natural reasons, the African-American Civil Rights Movement and subsequent movements are the most prominent touchstone to Americans on the subject of racism and civil rights. It’s the thing that you guys automatically compare stories with racism allegories to. And while the Faunus Plotline does have parallels, it fails to follow that sort of narrative, and as a result it’s kinda throwing people off.

But I don’t think that’s a failure of writing. I think the fandom, as a whole, is looking at the wrong racism.

Now, let me be clear: no matter what race you are, if you feel that the Faunus Plotline represents you, that is completely valid. I’m not here to take that away from you. All oppressed peoples face similar struggles.

But I believe that the intent of the writers is not to create an allegory for African-American discrimination, but instead to create an allegory for Anti-Irish discrimination.

Or, TL;DR: The Faunus are Irish, Atlas is Britain, Vacuo is America, and our heroes are partaking in Gulliver’s Travels.

Devil Eyes was a secret psychological warfare program in 2005–2006 by the United States Central Intelligence Agency to develop an Osama bin Laden action figure and distribute it in South Asia. The CIA worked in conjunction with toymaker Donald Levine, a former Hasbro executive who has been credited as the “father” of G.I. Joe toys.[1] Levine designed a twelve-inch lifelike figure of bin Laden whose face was painted with a material that, when heated, would peel off to reveal a demon-like visage with red skin, green eyes, and black markings. The goal of the program was to scare children and their parents in an effort to turn public opinion against the real bin Laden.[2]

In 2014 the CIA acknowledged the existence of the program but said it had been discontinued after Levine had produced only three prototype figurines. According to The Washington Post, however, an anonymous source with “direct knowledge of the project” said that hundreds of the toys were created and shipped to Karachi, Pakistan in 2006.[2]

Jackenstein's climbing animation was sort of like the 'house like carpet' animation? Woody theory however got a whole sub plot in the bonus Ch4 castle town section in a way that genuinely put a huge grin on my face. fly high, Woody theory, fly high...

in the final hours of the pre-chapter 3 and 4 deltarune insaneposting, thought i'd post my final theories/expectations so I can look back in a week and call myself an idiot. Most of these are pretty vague and extremely safe, because I think that fully trying to grab specific plotlines from a game 2/7th in is a fool's errand. Anyway:

chapter 4 in church (the trailer basically confirms this)

No chapter 3 weird route, but chapter 4 will have one (mostly based on the applicable/not applicable thing on the deltarune website ARG). However, Chapter 4 can only happen if you do something specific in chapter 3 (evidenced from "not applicable... but...")

Toriel plays the same role Berdley does in Ch2 as a non-party member recurring character.

mild Kris backstory and human lore (im a Susie came from a human civilisation truther)
