She does, in fact, bite
Bonus: It was also later noted that, after the curtains in Arthur’s chambers mysteriously caught on fire, she apparently breathes fire too

A BL LIST FOR CONNIE (Part 3)
THE LONG AWAITED THIRD LIST FROM ME AND @bansheeeeeeeeeee IS HERE!
Congratulations you are officially a BL convert. We sent you your first list on December 24th 2022 (p2 here) and what a journey it's been! Dare I say training wheels are off and you are free to do your own thing (which I know you did when you watched Kinnporsche). As such this list is full of some more wacky stuff. Our first two lists were in service of your specific brand of brainrot but surprise bench it's time for us to make you watch some of OUR brainrot 👹 Don't worry though most of this list is still tailored specifically for you.
Criteria: 1. Reincarnation, fated lovers, multiple timelines and magic spells 2. Toxicity 😇 3. Good old reliable internalised homophobia and repression
1. Century of Love
Starting out this list VERY STRONG with our top show of 2024. The way Lydia went into this show a hater and ended up loving it within the span of ONE ep should be studied by scientists. You are going to FROTH Connie. We have magic yin metal type rocks, we have period romance, but more importantly we have WAITING A CENTURY FOR YOUR REINCARNATED LOVER TO RETURN FROM THE DEAD, and also surprise she came back as a guy!?!? This shit is soooooo good. So basically San is a lower class guy in the 1920s who gets saved from being falsely arrested by an upper class woman (Khun Vad), San is badly wounded and is saved by a savant at a local temple by a magic rock. San and Vad fall in love and then she gets murdered by her fiance, the prince. They speedrun the shit out of this straight romance in the first episode so dw this isn't really spoiling anything. San then undergoes this ritual to tie his soul to Vad so he can repay her in the future. He has to wait 100 years and then complete the ritual once they are reunited. He will in effect be immortal, BUT every night for 100 years he experiences extreme physical pain because of the magic rock poison. You will be familiar with a lot of the magic system from Chinese fantasy shows because it's all inspired by that folklore. ANYWAY, we skip ahead 100 years and San is the "greatgrandad" to a cute little family who are all very very invested in finding his soulmate for him. The dynamic is so good, I just love the cranky old grandpa who looks 30 trope :)))). Anyway Khun Vad finally comes back and crosses paths with San but SHOCK HORROR Vad has come back as a boy, Vee!!!!! What will gramps do??? He can't be in love with a MAN??? Vee can't possibly be Vad, there must be some mistake!!!!! The internalised homophobia is sooooo juicy I love it. The chemistry between Dao and Offroad is also incredible, I say give this one EP and if you're not like 👀 I will be surprised. It's only 8 episodes and the pacing is fantastic throughout, perfect length for the story imho. Also oh my GOD the nine tailed fox scene lives rent free in my head to this day.
If you want: immortal sadboy waits for his dead boyfriend to come back from the dead, internalised homophobia, magic rocks, conspiracy, Chinese drama levels of angst, cute found family dynamics, grumpy tsudere MC and smiley sunshine love interest, great chemistry and a banger theme song this is the show for you.
Watch on GagaOOlala or Kisskh
2. Be My Favourite
Eeeee I'm actually so excited for you to watch this show because it truely surprised me with how damn good it was. First and foremost KRIST IS BACK IN BL BAYBEYYYYY. I know you love his constipated internalised conflict Arthit, and guess what he's doing it again in this as Kawi. The premise of the show honestly doesn't do justice to it because they subvert and flip so many tropes throughout but here goes nothing. Be My Favourite follows Kawi, a major introvert who has been pining after the same girl (Pear) since uni. Kawi is pretty disappointed with the way his life has panned out, he doesn't have many friends, he doesn't love his job and his dad has just passed away. To top it off, he just got invited to Pear's wedding, and she's marrying a really hot guy he knew from uni (Pisaeng, played to perfection by Gawin). Luckily for Kawi he is given a magical crystal ball/time machine by a mysterious uncle and gets a chance to redo uni! Don't think too much about the timeline stuff because it gets complicated, but we essentially get to watch Kawi take charge and carve out the life he wants for himself. Krist does a really great job with Kawi, who does feel quite Arthit adjacent at first but becomes his own person pretty quickly. The highlight by far for me is Pisaeng though. Gawin hits it out of the fucking park with this character oh my GOD. He's so hot and likeable, also his coming out arc is actually my favourite from any BL I have seen.....like ever. The grumpy and sulky Krist/effortlessly charming Gawin dynamic seriously had me dragging my teeth across concrete every week, you're gonna love it.
If you want: one sided enemies to lovers, bi4bi, sulky and repressed Krist, multiple timelines and do overs, Krist's character being a dick but also being held accountable for being one, grumpy X sunshine, insecure MC who doesn't care about what the love interest thinks about them so they act like a literal gremlin and the love interest is like 😍, gmmtv actors who can ACTUALLY sing, a really lovely and nuanced coming out arc, and ..... This is the show for you.
Watch on YouTube.
3. Man Who Defies the World of BL (aka BL Sekai)
First Japanese show of the list! We've been saving this one until you've watched a good amount of BL because the entire premise relies on being a full blown fujoshi. BL Sekai is about a guy, Mob, who is living in a BL manga, and he knows it. Everywhere he looks a BL trope is taking place, and he spends every waking minute trying to avoid becoming the main character of the manga. Mob's commited to being a background character (one of the mob) and it's pretty hysterical to watch him avoid all these cliche scenarios. Is he actually in a BL manga? Or is he just super repressed and worried about "turning" gay? Who's to say 😇 Not much more to say here, super lighthearted fun show which is very meta, and there's a second season too!
If you want: Japanese crack humour and editing, self-aware comedic antics, super relatable main character, every BL trope imaginable played out for comedy, a show that doesn't take itself too seriously, short episodes, and a banger theme song, this is the show for you.
Watch on Viki.
4. Great Men Academy
Another show for category one here, training wheels are fully off with this one, it's very silly, and a bit cheesy and weird but totally worth it. Great Men Academy follows Love, a silly little fangirl who has a crush on a guy called Vier. Vier goes to the local boys boarding school, Great Men Academy, which is only for the smartest handsomest specialest boys. He's also the two time winner of the televised show 'The Greatest' which is essentially a hunger games-eque competition to pick the best man at school. One day Love is walking in the woods near her house and saves a unicorn who has been impaled by a branch. As thanks the unicorn grants Love a wish. She makes a VERY ambiguous wish, to be "lucky in love," and wakes up as a boy (surprise!). It's She's The Man meets Swan Princess, Love joins Great Men Academy as a boy and every night she needs to bathe in a magical lake, lest she be turned into a boy forever. At school we meet a whole host of other students and teachers. I'm still not 100% sure what the syllabus is at GMA but I did really enjoy the class tasks and homework. This show is so much fun, it's really silly and cute and James who plays the boy version of Love is just TOO GOOD. I don't normally love gender swapped stuff, but they handle it well, there's a really great romance and Pan representation which we love to see. The love triangle is quite compelling, but the genre mixing and comedy are the highlight for me. I also think Love really comes into her own as a boy, like she actually gets a personality lol is that misogyny? I have never thought about it that way. Oh well. Also all the main male actors were a part of this boyband called ninexnine at the time which I think is pretty fun. Anyway give it a few eps, I think you'll enjoy.
If you want: magic spells and unicorns, weird tech, a different genre every episode, girlie pop James (you want this), love triangle with a black cat and a golden retriever, twists you dont see coming and.... this is the show for you.
Watch on ??? (Lydia and I have it dled get a copy from Lydia)
5. Kiss Me Again (PeteKao supercut) + Dark Blue Kiss
Welcome to my (Meena's) brainrot. So both of these shows are part of the Kiss Me Series. You do not need to watch the original Kiss Me. It's straight and boring. You also do not need to watch all of the second series Kiss Me Again because gmmtv has kindly uploaded a supercut of the side couple Pete and Kao for us. They are gay engineers, do I need to say more? I first watched the kiss me again supercut at like 2am during covid lockdown and I was GRIPPED. It changed my brain chemistry fr. This may come as a surprise to you when you first start watching because the production quality is terrible. Low quality cameras, weird sound effects, and music and editing that genuinely feel like someone is just flicking through the radio while scenes are playing out. From a purely technical standpoint is the worst piece of television I've ever seen and YET. I LOVE THIS SUPERCUT. There is something so juicy about the enemies to best friends to lovers dynamic. At their sweetest petekhao give me toothache and at their most toxic they make me chew on live wires so either way I'm having a great time. P'Aof evidently saw the appeal of this pair because he directed the sequel series Dark Blue Kiss, which centres on them (yes another sequel so the third in the Kiss Me franchise). Pete is more toxic than ever but my GOD does Tay look amazing. Im a simple woman, I see Tay Tawan in a blue button up and I am BARKING. There's some nice character growth and general interesting dynamics throughout (I have also heard the side pairing is quite good, though haven't watched :)) ALSO for the supercut if you get bored just skip to the end of 2 lol.
If you want: enemies to best friends to lovers, jealousy leading to feelings realised, possessive/aggressive guard dog bf and wide eyed loser bf, disarmingly wholesome and charming moments amidst the toxic stuff, a serious budget upgrade for Dark Blue Kiss, someone finally putting that engineering degree to use in the climax, P'Aof fighting the ocean again, Tay Tawan being angy, a glimpse into my inner mind, this is the show for you.
Watch on YouTube. KMA here: (1, 2, 3) DBK here.
6. The Player (This is not BL but there's a mlm couple and a whole lot of homoeroticism between the rest of the cast)
Oopsie how did this non-BL drama make it onto the list......well while we're here I might well tell you about it 😁 This show is a full on daytime melodrama, I love it. There's a bunch of rich people at some fundraiser and someone kills a girl called Mim with a golf club. Who did it? Tin the police detective, who is also in love with the victim, is totally going to put aside his personal issues and solve this case (in a very reasonable way). Who are the suspects? Mim's ex best friend Giwi, the guy she was sleeping with Tim, a politician's son (Pitch), Pitch's gf who was also Mim's ex boss, Pitch's secret boyfriend, and some other people of interest who we will meet along the way. The twists and turns are so nuts I can't remember half of them but what I do remember is that everyone is sleeping with everyone hahhaha. It's got a pretty great cast too: Foei who I know you like, Drake features for a bit and also ofc the two people I started this show for, Namtan and Tay. Namtan's best look honestly she looks phenomenal throughout. I would let her manipulate me also :)))) I'm sorry this is another Tay show (purely by accident I swear) he do be cute in though, and by cute I mean completely toxic and unbearable. Me and Lydia have been chasing the high of this trash since 2021, we loved it and you will too.
If you want: hot people, p'jojo doing trashy drama, gmmtv melodrama, batshit crazy behaviour, homoeroticism left and light, step siblings who kinda seem like they're into each other but they never fuck THANK GOD, weirdly consistent characterisation given the shit that goes down, and sexy Drake this is the show for you.
Watch on YouTube (ideally in a teleparty with us!)
7. High School Frenemy Supercut (shut up it's BL)
Welcome to my (Lydia's) brainrot. When the original pilot trailer for this show released I knew I would end up watching it because I like my shows toxic and trashy with a solid portion of preposterous melodrama. However I did NOT anticipate just how buck-wild, off the rails, absolutely FERAL I was going to become.
As you know, I missed the queerbait era of 2010-14 Tumblr. This show is my debut into the competitive sport that is queerbait. Our story starts with two rival schools being merged onto one campus and follows a class made up of opposing student gangs that hate each other. Shin heads a gang called Tsunami, and Saint is a loner that gets picked on and sleeps through all his classes. Shin HATES Saint's guts and we don't quite know why, what we do know is that were once best friends, they broke up, and it's the worst thing that's ever happened to anyone, ever. Literally everyone at this school, from students to faculty, is invested in this relationship. In the same vein as teen wolf, all drama is given equal narrative weight, whether it's gang violence or a friend break up, the stakes are unnecessarily high.
There's numerous plotlines woven in about the varying members of this class but frankly they're boring so I have made a supercut so that you may experience the undiluted CRACK that is the two main characters' relationship. It took me 7 episodes to descend into brainrot, but with the supercut it only took Meena like half an hour. GGMTV may say that HSF is a 'buddy' story and not officially BL but it somehow manages to be gayer than lots of their actual BL content. The main characters' acting is better than it has any right to be. The angst is juicy. The chemistry is INSANEEEEE. The soundtrack is bizarrely good. This show will have you fed, watered, and moisturised.
If you want: ANGST, levels repression the only queerbait genre can deliver, the 2 seconds I've left in the supercut of Mark Pakin content, agonised estranged former friends 'platonically' gazing at each other while the most INSANELY romantic music plays, betrayal, love/hate dynamics and truly just the most epic highs and lows of a homoerotic ex best friend situationship, this show is for you.
Watch on Viki. I'm holding my supercut hostage so you have no choice but to watch it with me.
BONUS: Love is Poison
We know you found this one on your own, congratulations for graduating into BL literacy, we are so proud of you. You know the drill, he's a straightlaced laywer and he's chronically obsessed with the mysterious 🥺 faced love interest. The dynamic is juicy, the plants talk, and there is a plot (but I can't remember it).
If you want: highly strung plant mom MC, mysterious and morally ambiguous love interest, constipated MC brought to his knees by cutie patootie love interest batting his eyelids, the weirdest cohabitation dynamic that Japan can think of, and crack humor, this is the show for you.
Watch on Netflix.
