Dear Dairy:

Today is May 1st [redacted]

I am visiting my hometown after a long time. How long has it been scince I last have been here? 8 or was it 10 years? I don't remember anymore. Not much has changed since, same old town, same old roads.

Anyways, recently I heard rumours floating about, silent whispers about something, "a god" they call it. I started to get curious.

I mean, a new deity? Our village was always quite non-relegious, so the fact they started to worship someone or something is odd...

I will start listening closer now, maybe I will find out more about this new so called "god"

Today is May 2nd [redacted]

So, I started listening closer to the whispering and asked the locals about this "god". They all where basically saying the same thing: "this god actually listens to my prayers", "this God fulfilled my wish xyz", "this God is so kind".

So yeah, weird cult talking stuff. But I also met people I knew way back when I still lived here and they also talked about this "God" so positively. They were so weirdly happy, it kinda gave me major heeby jeebies. I never thought any of my friends could be this into a religion. There surely must be more to it, right?

I feel like I need to dig deeper, maby I start asking when this deity appeared....

Welp, I will go sleep. Tomorrow will be a new day.

Soooooo I asked one of my friends, when this deity started appearing. They told me it was actually not so long ago, 5 years, they estimated. I also asked if they ever met the God and what kind of practices this 'new belive' has (if it even has any). My friend never met God, but they did hear it's voice, they told me, that it asked, what they wished for and after answering, the wish came true. They also said that you don't necessarily have to do any practices, but most people just pray and thank the God. I asked what they wished for and they went quite for a moment. I thought I might have overstepped, but than can an hesitant answer : "you know how I used to hate how I look right?" I remember, back than, they were a very pretty girl, now they look very different, androgynous. I almost didn't regocnice them, but they said my name and then it clicked, Mary that was her name back then. "I asked the God to change me and that everyone accepts that change and it became true. I finally feel good in my own skin again" they smiled, they looked so happy. I felt kind of bad for having so much suspicion against this god, it seems to genuinely help people. But that still leaves the question of how. How does it help?

From what I could gather, it can reshape a persons body and maniplate or influence others into thinking something else.

But how does it do that? And why does it do it? Is it truly this benevolent? Is there truly nothing sinister hiding beneath the surface?

I must find out!

These questions keep me up at night and somehow I feel like someone is watching me. Maby I am going insane...

Today is May 5th [redacted]

Writing this is hard, I tried to find out more, to no avail. Most of them won't or can't answer my questions.

The feeling of being watched has gotten worse... Especially at night.

I can't sleep.

I am exhausted.

I hate this.

Maby I should stop.

Maby I should just go away.

...

But than again, I am so deadly curious. This God has allure to me, I am sure it wants me to find it.

I have to find it

I need to find it

No matter the cost.

Today is May 8th [redacted]

Hahaha I did it, I convinced one this cult dudes to let me visit this God.

Finally I can meet them.

Surly my questions will finally be answered.

I can't wait.

I am so excited.

Maby today I can finally sleep peacefully.

The eyes has become a constant, no matter where I am, I feel watched.

But that doesn't matter

Nothing else matters

I will get to the truth!

I met it!

I met God!

And they are beautiful!

The moment I saw it, everything made sense.

Why they worshipped it.

It was so nice.

It asked for my wish..

I told them, that I wanted to know everything about Uniel, that's it's name it told me.

What a gorgeous name.

I think it was surprised by my wish. Uniel told me that: "no one ever wished for that". I think it was happy! At least it seemed like it.

So it told me it was *more unreadable text*

And that it loved me.

I think I have fallen in love too.

I think everyone would.

I am so happy

*the text repeats itself more times until it's just a scrawl attempting to be words.*

He closes the diary, lying next to it's owners corpse. A smile etched into the corpse mouth. "he must have truly been happy, even going as far as protecting, whatever Uniel is, from anyone else" Fred thought to himself. His long abourn hair bund tight in a bun, so that it would not disturb him while examining the scene. He still hasn't concluded how exactly the person, writing this diary, died. The corpse did not have any wounds, nor did the poison test run successful. He was slowly going out of things to look for. "why do I always need to be involved in these types of situation, couldn't this have been just a simple fucking murder!" he mutters angerly, stepping out of the taped zone and undoing his protective gear "finally able to breath again" he said taking a deep breath of fresh air. He wiped his swat from his freakled face "it always gets so hot under the mask, especially scince it's in the middle of summer" he said to himself, his colleagues where doing searches in other areas of this small town.

Fred took his notebook from his backpack and wrote some of his findings, mostly the contents of the notebook. He also noted, how it was weird that the corpse hasn't really started decomposition, even though the hot weather would normally fasten the decomposition process. It made it impossible to guess when the person died. "maby I should go back to the others and report my findings" he muttered to himself. Fred grabbed his stuff and made his way.
