Appreciating Wholesome Dads in Anime - My Top 5
I want to show appreciation for my favorite wholesome dads in anime! Family drama is great, but a nice wholesome dad is great too. I wanted to talk about this topic but wasn't sure how, so I tried a listicle style. This was fun and I'm happy about how I explored the topic. I don't plan to do a lot of lists though.

This Was Made for Me: Dragon Ball Daima First Impressions
I'm loving Daima so far as someone who loves early Dragon Ball the most and has less issues with modern dragon ball. The anime looks amazing, the fights so far are awesome, and I like the worldbuilding. And I don't mind the slower pacing as of now. I hope it continues this strong!

Vtuber Legends Review - Wholesome Vtuber Fun! But Too Much?
Here’s my review of VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream. I’ll expand on what I said in my summer 2024 anime roundup and go into full spoiler territory. If you want to see my summarized non-spoiler thoughts, please read that first in the Summer 2024 Anime Roundup. I think this is a wholesome and funny show that lovingly portrays vtubers and the generally uplifting space they occupy. But it can go so far with its jokes, positivity, and authenticity that it could be a tough watch for people who aren’t already into vtubers, don’t like sexual humor, and want a deeper exploration on the vtuber space. This is an anime that appeals a lot to specific tastes, leading to it being great for the niches it is going for but questionable to those who don’t quite fit in.

Finally watched the Odd Taxi movie.
I watched the anime back when it aired and absolutely loved it. Loved seeing the score go up as people discovered it. Spoilers to follow below.
I can understand being disappointed if someone saw this in a theater or were hyped expecting a true sequel, considering it is mostly recap. It was nice seeing the diff perspectives of the characters recounting, but it wasn't a lot.
I actually made good use of it being a recap, as I am trying to put together an analysis on Oddtaxi👀. But that doesn't sway my opinion about the movie. I don't think it needed a sequel and didn't mind the open ending. I also don't mind the closing of the open ending tho tbh.
I still got some enjoyment out of it, but after watching it I still feel pretty whatever, same as before. It wasn't terrible but I think an OVA covering the ending would have gone over better. Im glad I waited because writing as I do now made the recap aspect more useful at least.
This doesn't harm my love for the original, but wouldn't recommend it to someone unless they're interested in rewatching Oddtaxi, as thats what this is. The actual new stuff is fine but could be explained to someone in like 2 sentences. Sakura caught, shirakawa and odokawa date
It was cool that it was presented like a true crime documentary, fits with the inspirations, and that made the recap tolerable. And the collage of everyone's lives afterwards was very sweet. There's some minor details that get clarified. But for a general person, id say skip it.
If you really love oddtaxi and/or are a lover of details, (im both), then give it a watch instead of directly rewatching the original. The extra stuff is nice but not necessary.
I don't think it's worth being mad over, but i don't feel strongly either way. I was not overly mad or disappointed because I didn't think it was needed in the first place lol.

Omori Manga Chapter 3 Review -Meaningful Gestures
I loved this chapter! The additional characterization of the characters is great, the emotional intensity of the scene is done super well, and the manga continues to be visually beautiful, especially with the expressions which is a big thing for me.
I highly recommend giving this chapter a shot if you gave up on it after 1 or 2, it's the best yet and accomplishes exactly what I want an adaptation of Omori to do.

Let Characters Keep Their Secrets - Writing Analysis
I like when characters keep their hidden details secret, letting them be much more thought-provoking and engaging. Mikataka from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure does this perfectly, while Thirteen from My Hero Academy is a wasted opportunity.

This anime can be really funny but not often enough and without other strong aspects to be worth watching in full. I like it but I'm going to stick to clips and check out the manga.

Omori Manga Chapter 1 Review - A New Day Begins Again
I've been so excited for this and chapter 1 is absolutely incredible. The visuals are everything I could have asked for, and I see the value in the slight changes to how the story is presented.

Girls Band Cry Review - Immaculate Immaturity
I loved this anime- it was hilarious and super fun, has great visuals and music, and most notably I adore the very aggressive tone and immature characters it excels at portraying.

Train to the End of the World Ep 12 Finale Review- End of the Line
We finally made it to the end of the line. The train line. But don’t worry, this is not a story about finality. It’s about new beginnings. Overall I think this was a very satisfying finale that ends this series on a very strong thematic note, albeit with some criticisms about pacing and execution.
I loved this quirky series and had a ton of fun writing on it all the way through. I hope we can continue to see excellent anime originals!
